2 Corinthians - Chapter: 12

>
12:1It is not expedyent for me (no doubte) to reioyce. Neuerthelesse I wyll come to visions and reuelations of the Lorde.
12:2I knowe a man in Christe aboue .xiiij. yeares agone (whether he were in the bodye I cannot tell, or whether he were oute of the bodye I cannot tell, God knoweth) whiche was taken vp into the third heauen.
12:3And I knowe the same man (whether in the bodye, or oute of the bodye, I cannot tell, God knoweth)
12:4howe that he was taken vp into paradyse, and hearde wordes not to be spoken, whiche no man can vtter.
12:5Of thys man wyll I reioyce, of my selfe wyll I not reioyce, excepte it be of myne infyrmytyes.
12:6And yet thoughe I woulde reioyce, I shoulde not be a fole: for I shoulde saye the trueth: Neuerthelesse I spare, lest anye man shoulde thynke of me aboue that he seeth me to be, or heareth of me.
12:7And lest I shoulde be exalted out of measure thorowe the aboundaunce of reuelacions there was geuen vnto me vnquyetnes of the fleshe, the messenger of Satan to buffete me: because I shoulde no be exalted oute of measure.
12:8For thys thynge besought I the Lorde thryse, that it myght departe from me.
12:9And he sayde vnto me: my grace is suffycyent for the. For my strengthe is made perfecte thorowe weakenes. Very gladly therfor wil I reioyce of my weakenes, that the strength of Christe maye dwell in me
12:10Therfore haue I delectacyon in infyrmities, in rebukes, in nede, in persecutions, in anguyshe, for Christes sake. For when I am weake, then am I stronge.
12:11I am made a fole in bostynge my selfe. Ye haue compelled me: I ought to haue bene commended of you. For in nothynge was I inferyor vnto the chiefe Apostles. Thoughe I be nothynge
12:12yet the tokens of an Apostle were wroughte amonge you with al pacience: with signes, and wonders and myghty dedes.
12:13For what is it wherein ye were inferyours vnto other congregacyons except it be therein that I was not greuous vnto you. Forgeue me thys wrong done vnto you.
12:14Behold the now thyrde time I am redy to come vnto you, and yet wyll I not be greuouse vnto you. For I seke not yours, but you. Also the chyldren ought not to lay vp for the fathers & mothers but the fathers a mothers for the chyldren.
12:15I wyll very gladly bestowe, and wyll be bestowed for youre soules: thoughe the more I loue you, the lesse I am loued agayne.
12:16But be it that I greued you not: neuerthelesse I was crafty and toke you with gyle.
12:17Dyd I pyl you by any of them which I sent vnto you?
12:18I desyred Titus, and with hym I sent a brother. Did Tytus defraude you of any thing? walked we not in one spyryte? walked we not in lyke steppes?
12:19Agayne, thynke ye that we excuse oure selues. We speake in Christe in the syght of God. But we do all thynges dearelye beloued for youre edifiynge.
12:20For I feare least it come to passe, that when I come, I shall not fynde you suche as I woulde, and I shalbe founde amonge you debate, enuiynge, wrath, stryfe, backbytynges, whisperynges, swellynges & discorde.
12:21I feare leste when I come agayne, God brynge me lowe amonge you, and I be constrayned to bewayle many of them which haue synned already, and haue not repented of the vncleanes, fornicacyon, and wantonnes, whiche they haue commytted.

12:1It is not expedient for me no doubt to reioyce: for I will come to visions and reuelations of the Lord.
12:2I know a man in Christ aboue fourteene yeeres agone, (whether he were in the body, I can not tell, or out of the body, I can not tell: God knoweth) which was taken vp into the thirde heauen.
12:3And I knowe such a man (whether in the body, or out of the body, I can not tell: God knoweth)
12:4How that he was taken vp into Paradise, and heard words which cannot be spoken, which are not possible for man to vtter.
12:5Of such a man will I reioyce: of my selfe will I not reioyce, except it bee of mine infirmities.
12:6For though I woulde reioyce, I should not be a foole, for I will say the trueth: but I refraine, lest any man should thinke of me aboue that hee seeth in me, or that he heareth of me.
12:7And lest I should be exalted out of measure through the aboundance of reuelations, there was giuen vnto me a pricke in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet mee, because I should not be exalted out of measure.
12:8For this thing I besought the Lord thrise, that it might depart from me.
12:9And he said vnto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect through weakenesse. Very gladly therefore will I reioyce rather in mine infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
12:10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproches, in necessities, in persecutions, in anguish for Christes sake: for when I am weake, then am I strong.
12:11I was a foole to boast my selfe: yee haue compelled mee: for I ought to haue bene commended of you: for in nothing was I inferiour vnto the very chiefe Apostles, though I bee nothing.
12:12The signes of an Apostle were wrought among you with all patience, with signes, and wonders, and great workes.
12:13For what is it, wherein yee were inferiours vnto other Churches, except that I haue not bene slouthfull to your hinderance? forgiue me this wrong.
12:14Behold, the thirde time I am ready to come vnto you, and yet will I not be slouthfull to your hinderance: for I seeke not yours, but you: for the children ought not to laye vp for the fathers, but the fathers for the children.
12:15And I will most gladly bestow, and will be bestowed for your soules: though the more I loue you, the lesse I am loued.
12:16But bee it that I charged you not: yet for as much as I was craftie, I tooke you with guile.
12:17Did I pill you by any of them whom I sent vnto you?
12:18I haue desired Titus, and with him I haue sent a brother: did Titus pill you of any thing? walked we not in the selfe same spirit? walked we not in the same steppes?
12:19Againe, thinke yee that wee excuse our selues vnto you? we speake before God in Christ. But wee doe all thinges, dearely beloued, for your edifying.
12:20For I feare least when I come, I shall not finde you such as I would: and that I shalbe found vnto you such as ye woulde not, and least there be strife, enuying, wrath, contentions, backebitings, whisperings, swellings and discord.
12:21I feare least when I come againe, my God abase me among you, and I shall bewaile many of them which haue sinned already, and haue not repented of the vncleannesse, and fornication, and wantonnesse which they haue committed.

12:1It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
12:2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
12:3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
12:4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
12:5Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
12:6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
12:7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
12:8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
12:9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
12:10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
12:11I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.
12:12Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
12:13For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.
12:14Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
12:15And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
12:16But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.
12:17Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?
12:18I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?
12:19Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
12:20For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
12:21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
