Galatians - Chapter: 1

>
1:1Paul an Apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Iesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him fro the dead,
1:2And all the brethren which are with mee, vnto the Churches of Galatia:
1:3Grace bee to you and peace, from God the Father, and from our Lord Iesus Christ,
1:4Who gaue himselfe for our sinnes, that he might deliuer vs from this present euill world, according to the will of God, and our Father,
1:5To whom bee glorie for euer and euer, Amen.
1:6I marueile, that you are so soone remoued from him, that called you into the grace of Christ, vnto an other Gospel:
1:7Which is not another; but there bee some that trouble you, and would peruert the Gospel of Christ.
1:8But though we, or an Angel from heauen, preach any other Gospel vnto you, then that which wee haue preached vnto you, let him be accursed.
1:9As we said before, so say I now againe, If any man preach any other Gospel vnto you, then that yee haue receiued, let him be accursed.
1:10For doe I now perswade men, or God? or doe I seeke to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not bee the seruant of Christ.
1:11But I certifie you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached of me, is not after man.
1:12For I neither receiued it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the reuelation of Iesus Christ.
1:13For yee haue heard of my couuersation in time past, in the Iewes Religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the Church of God, and wasted it:
1:14And profited in the Iewes Religion, aboue many my equals in mine owne nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
1:15But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers wombe, and called me by his grace,
1:16To reueale his sonne in mee, that I might preach him among the heathen, immediatly I conferred not with flesh and blood:
1:17Neither went I vp to Ierusalem, to them which were Apostles before me, but I went into Arabia, and returned againe vnto Damascus.
1:18Then after three yeeres, I went vp to Ierusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteene dayes.
1:19But other of the Apostles saw I none, saue Iames the Lords brother.
1:20Now the things which I write vnto you, behold, before God I lye not.
1:21Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia,
1:22And was vnknowen by face vnto the Churches of Iudea, which were in Christ.
1:23But they had heard onely, that he which persecuted vs in times past, now preacheth the faith, which once hee destroyed.
1:24And they glorified God in me.

1:1Paul an Apostle (not of men, nor by ma, but by Iesus Christ & by God the father, which raysed him vp fro ye deed)
1:2& all the brethre which are wt me. Vnto the cogregacios in Galacia.
1:3Grace be with you, and peace fro God the father, and oure LORDE Iesus Christ,
1:4which gaue him selfe for oure synnes, that he mighte delyuer vs from this present euel worlde, acordinge to the wyll of God oure father,
1:5to whom be prayse for euer and euer. Amen.
1:6I maruell yt ye are so soone turned (from him that called you in the grace of Christ) vnto another Gospell:
1:7which is nothinge els, but that there be some, which trouble you, and intende to peruerte the Gospell of Christ.
1:8Neuertheles though we oure selues, or an angell from heaue preach vnto you eny other Gospel, the yt which we haue preached vnto you, the same be acursed.
1:9As we haue sayde afore, so saye we now agayne: Yf eny ma preach vnto you eny other thinge, the yt ye haue receaued, ye same be acursed.
1:10Preach I men now or God? Or go I aboute to please men? Yf I shulde yet please men, I were not the seruaunt of Christ.
1:11But I certifye you brethren, yt the Gospell which is preached of me, is not of men.
1:12For I nether receaued it ner lerned it of ma, but by the reuelacion of Iesus Christ.
1:13For ye haue herde of my conuersacion afore tyme in the Ieweshippe, how that beyode measure I persecuted the cogregacion of God, and spoyled it,
1:14and preuayled in the Ieweshippe aboue many of my companyons in my nacion, & was a moch more feruent manteyner of the tradicions of the fathers.
1:15But whan it pleased God which separated me fro my mothers wombe, and called me by his grace,
1:16for to declare his sonne in me, that I shulde preach him thorow the Gospell amonge the Heythen, immediatly I commened not of the matter with flesh and bloude:
1:17nether came I to Ierusalem vnto them which were Apostles before me: but wente my wayes in to Arabia, and came agayne to Damascon.
1:18Then after thre yeare I came to Ierusale to se Peter, and abode with him fyftene dayes.
1:19As for the other Apostles, I sawe none of them, saue Iames the LORDES brother.
1:20The thinges that I wryte vnto you, beholde, God knoweth, I lye not.
1:21After that wente I in to the coastes of Syria and Celicia:
1:22but of face I was vnknowne to ye Christen congregacions in Iewrye.
1:23Neuertheles they had herde onely, that: He that persecuted vs in tyme passed, preacheth now ye faith which some tyme he destroyed:
1:24and they praysed God in me.

1:1Poul the apostle, not of men, ne bi man, but bi Jhesu Crist, and God the fadir,
1:2that reiside hym fro deth, and alle the britheren that ben with me, to the chirchis of Galathie,
1:3grace to you and pees of God the fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist,
1:4that yaf hym silf for oure synnes, to delyuere vs fro the present wickid world, bi the wille of God and of oure fadir,
1:5to whom is worschip and glorie in to worldis of worldis. Amen.
1:6I wondur, that so soone ye be thus moued fro hym that clepid you in to the grace of Crist, in to another euangelie; which is not anothir,
1:7but that ther ben summe that troublen you, and wolen mysturne the euangelie of Crist.
1:8But thouy we, or an aungel of heuene, prechide to you, bisidis that that we han prechid to you, be he acursid.
1:9As Y haue seid bifore, and now eftsoones Y seie, if ony preche to you bisidis that that ye han vndurfongun, be he cursid.
1:10For now whether counsele Y men, or God? or whether Y seche to plese men? If Y pleside yit men, Y were not Cristis seruaunt.
1:11For, britheren, Y make knowun to you the euangelie, that was prechid of me, for it is not bi man;
1:12ne Y took it of man, ne lernyde, but bi reuelacioun of Jhesu Crist.
1:13For ye han herd my conuersacioun sumtyme in the Jurie, and that Y pursuede passyngli the chirche of God, and fauyt ayen it.
1:14And Y profitide in the Jurie aboue many of myn eueneldis in my kynrede, and was more aboundauntli a folewere of my fadris tradiciouns.
1:15But whanne it pleside hym, that departide me fro my modir wombe,
1:16and clepide bi his grace, to schewe his sone in me, that Y schulde preche hym among the hethene, anoon Y drowy me not to fleisch and blood; ne Y cam to Jerusalem to the apostlis,
1:17that weren tofor me, but Y wente in to Arabie, and eftsoones Y turnede ayen in to Damask.
1:18And sith thre yeer aftir Y cam to Jerusalem, to se Petre, and Y dwellide with hym fiftene daies;
1:19but Y sawy noon othere of the apostlis, but James, oure Lordis brother.
1:20And these thingis which Y write to you, lo! tofor God Y lie not.
1:21Afterward Y cam in to the coostis of Syrie and Cilicie.
1:22But Y was vnknowun bi face to the chirchis of Judee, that weren in Crist; and thei hadden oonli an heryng,
1:23that he that pursuede vs sum tyme, prechide now the feith, ayens which he fauyte sum tyme;
1:24and in me thei glorifieden God.
