Ephesians - Chapter: 4

>
4:1I therfore whiche am in boundes for the Lordes sake, exhorte you, that ye walke worthy of the vocation wherwyth ye are called,
4:2in all humblenes of mynde, and mekenes, and longe sufferynge, forbearinge one another thorowe loue,
4:3and that ye be diligente to kepe the vnitie of the spirite in the bounde of peace,
4:4beynge one bodye, & one spirite, euen as ye are called in one hope of your callinge.
4:5Let there be but one Lorde, one fayth, one baptysme,
4:6one God and father of all, whiche is aboue al thorowe all and in you all.
4:7Vnto euery one of vs is geuen grace accordinge to the measure of the gyfte of Christ.
4:8Wherfore he sayth: He is gone vp on hye, and had led captiuitie captiue, and hath geuen gyftes vnto men.
4:9That he ascended, what meaneth it, but that he also descended fyrste into the loweste parties of the earth?
4:10He that descended, is euen the same also that ascended vp euen aboue all heauens, to fulfyll al thinges.
4:11And the very same made some Apostles, some Prophetes, some Euangelistes, some sheperdes, some teachers,
4:12that the saynctes myghte haue all thinges necessarye to worke and ministre wythal, to the edifiynge of the bodye of Christ,
4:13tyl we euerie one (in the vnitie of fayth, and knowledge of the sonne of God) growe vp into a perfecte man, after the measure of age of the fulnes of Christ.
4:14That we henceforth be no more chyldren, waueringe and caryed wyth euerye wynde of doctryne, by the wylynes of men and craftynes, wherby they laye awayte for vs to deceyue vs.
4:15But let vs folowe the truethe in loue, and in al thinges growe in him which is the head, that is to saye, Christe,
4:16in whom all the body is coupled and knyt together in euerye ioynt, wherwyth one ministreth to another (accordynge to the operation, as euerye parte hath hys measure) and encreaseth the bodye, vnto the edifiynge of it selfe in loue.
4:17Thys I saye therfore and testifye in the Lorde, that ye henceforth walke not as other Gentyles walke, in vanitie of theyr mynde,
4:18blynded in theyr vnderstandynge, beynge straungers from the lyfe whiche is in God thorowe the ignoraunce that is in them, because of the blyndnes of theyr hertes:
4:19whiche beyng paste repentaunce, haue geuen them selues vnto wantonnes, to worke al maner of vncleanes, euen wyth gredines.
4:20But ye haue not so learned Christ,
4:21yf so be ye haue heard of hym, and are taughte of hym, euen as the trueth is in Iesu.
4:22So then as concernyng the conuersacyon in tyme past, laye from you that olde man, whyche is corrupte thorowe the deceyueable lustes
4:23and be ye renued in the spyrite of your mindes,
4:24and put on that newe man, whyche after the Image of God is shapen in ryghteousnes & true holynes.
4:25Wherfore put awaye lyinge, and speake euerye man trueth vnto hys neyghboure, for as muche as we are membres one of another.
4:26Be angrye, but synne not, let not the sunne go doune vpon your wrath,
4:27neyther geue place vnto the backebyter.
4:28Let hym that stole, steale no more, but let hym rather laboure wyth his handes some good thynge, that he maye haue to geue vnto hym that nedeth.
4:29Let no fylthy communication procede out of your mouthes: but that whiche is good to edefye wyth all, when nede is: that it maye haue fauoure with the hearers.
4:30And greue not the holye spirite of God, by whom ye are sealed vnto the daye of redemption.
4:31Let all bitternes, fearsnes and wrath, roring and cursed speakinge, be put awaye from you, wyth all maliciousnes.
4:32Be ye courteouse one to another and mercyfull, forgeuynge one another, euen as God for Christes sake forgaue you.

4:1I therfore (which am a presonner of the Lordes) exhorte you, that ye walke worthy of the vocacyon wherwith ye are called,
4:2with all lowlynes and mekenesse, with humblenes of mynde, forbearynge one another thorowe loue,
4:3and be diligent to kepe the vnitie of the sprete thorowe the bonde of peace,
4:4beynge one body, and one sprete, euen as ye are called in one hope of your callinge.
4:5One Lorde, one fayth, one baptyme
4:6one God and father of all, which is aboue all and thorowe all, and in you all.
4:7Unto euery one of vs is geuen grace, accordynge to the measure of the gyfte of Chryst.
4:8Wherfore he sayth: whan he went vp an hye, he ledde captiuitye captyue, and gaue gyftes vnto men.
4:9That he ascended: what meaneth it? but that he also descended fyrst into the lowest partes of the erth?
4:10He that descended, is euen the same also that ascended vp, aboue all heauens, to fulfyll all thynges.
4:11And the very same made some Apostles, some Prophetes, some Euangelistes, some Shepherdes and Teachers:
4:12to the edifyenge of the saynctes, to the worke and ministracyon, euen to the edifyinge of the body of Chryst,
4:13tyll we all come to the vnitye of fayth, and knowledge of the sonne of God, vnto a perfecte man, vnto the measure of the full perfecte age of Chryst
4:14That we hence forth shulde be nomore chyldren, wauerynge & caryed aboute with euery wynde of doctrine, by the wylynes of men, thorowe craftynes, wherby they laye a wayte for vs to deceaue vs.
4:15But let vs folowe the trueth in loue, and in all thynges growe in hym, which is the heed, euen Christ,
4:16in whom yf all the body be coupled and knet together thorow out euery ioynt wherwith one ministreth to another (accordynge to the operacyon as euery parte hath hys measure) he increaseth the body, vnto the edifyinge of it selfe thorowe loue.
4:17This I saye therfore, and testifye thorowe the Lorde, that ye hence forth walke not, as other Gentyls walke, in vanite of theyr minde,
4:18whyle they are blinded in their vnderstandynge, beynge farre from a godly lyfe, by the meanes of the ignorancy that is in them, and because of the blyndnes of their hertes:
4:19which beynge past repentaunce, haue geuen them selues ouer vnto wantannes, to worke all manner of vnclennes, euen with gredines.
4:20But ye haue not so learned Christ.
4:21If so be that ye haue hearde of him, and haue bene taught in him, as the trueth is in Iesu:
4:22(as concernynge the conuersacyon in tyme past) to laye from you that olde man, which is corrupte, accordynge to the deceauable lustes.
4:23To be renued also in the sprete of youre mynde,
4:24and to put on that newe man, which after God is shapen in ryghte wesnes and true holynes.
4:25Wherfore, put awaye lyinge, & speake euery man truth vnto his neyghboure, for as moche as we are members one of another.
4:26Be angrye, and synne not: let not the sunne go doune vpon youre wrath,
4:27nether geue place vnto the backbyter.
4:28Let hym that stole, steale nomore but let him rather laboure wt his handes the thynge which is good, that he maye geue vnto him that nedeth.
4:29Let no fylthy communicacion procede out of youre mouth: but that which is good to edifye wt all, as oft as nede is that it maye minister grace vnto the hearers.
4:30And greue not ye the holy sprete of God by whom ye are sealed vnto the daye of redempcyon.
4:31Let all bitternes & fearsnes & wrath & rorynge & cursyd speakynge, be put awaye from you, with all maliciousnes.
4:32Be ye courteouse one to another, mercyfull, forgeuynge one another, euen as God for Christes sake hath forgeuen you.

4:1I therefore, being prisoner in the Lord, praie you that yee walke worthie of the vocation whereunto yee are called,
4:2With all humblenesse of minde, and meekenesse, with long suffering, supporting one an other through loue,
4:3Endeuouring to keepe the vnitie of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4:4There is one body, and one Spirit, euen as yee are called in one hope of your vocation.
4:5There is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptisme,
4:6One God and Father of all, which is aboue all, and through all, and in you all.
4:7But vnto euery one of vs is giuen grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
4:8Wherfore he saith, Whe he asceded vp on hie, he led captiuity captiue, and gaue gifts vnto men.
4:9(Nowe, in that hee ascended, what is it but that he had also descended first into the lowest partes of the earth?
4:10Hee that descended, is euen the same that ascended, farre aboue all heauens, that hee might fill all things)
4:11Hee therefore gaue some to be Apostles, and some Prophets, and some Euangelists, and some Pastours, and Teachers,
4:12For the repairing of the Saintes, for the woorke of the ministerie, and for the edification of the bodie of Christ,
4:13Till we all meete together (in the vnitie of faith and that acknowledging of the Sonne of God) vnto a perfite man, and vnto the measure of the age of the fulnesse of Christ,
4:14That we henceforth be no more children, wauering and caried about with euery winde of doctrine, by the deceit of men, and with craftines, whereby they lay in wait to deceiue.
4:15But let vs folowe the truth in loue, and in all things, grow vp into him, which is the head, that is, Christ.
4:16By whome al the body being coupled and knit together by euery ioynt, for ye furniture therof (according to the effectual power, which is in the measure of euery part) receiueth increase of the body, vnto the edifying of itselfe in loue.
4:17This I say therefore and testifie in the Lord, that yee hencefoorth walke not as other Gentiles walke, in vanitie of their minde,
4:18Hauing their vnderstanding darkened, and being strangers from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardnesse of their heart:
4:19Which being past feeling, haue giuen themselues vnto wantonnesse, to woorke all vncleannesse, euen with griedinesse.
4:20But yee haue not so learned Christ,
4:21If so be yee haue heard him, and haue bene taught by him, as the trueth is in Iesus,
4:22That is, that yee cast off, concerning the conuersation in time past, that olde man, which is corrupt through the deceiueable lustes,
4:23And be renued in the spirit of your minde,
4:24And put on ye new man, which after God is created vnto righteousnes, and true holines.
4:25Wherefore cast off lying, and speake euery man truth vnto his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
4:26Bee angrie, but sinne not: let not the sunne goe downe vpon your wrath,
4:27Neither giue place to the deuill.
4:28Let him that stole, steale no more: but let him rather labour, and worke with his handes the thing which is good, that hee may haue to giue vnto him that needeth.
4:29Let no corrupt comunication proceed out of your mouths: but that which is good, to ye vse of edifying, that it may minister grace vnto the hearers.
4:30And grieue not the holy Spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed vnto ye day of redemption.
4:31Let all bitternesse, and anger, and wrath, crying, and euill speaking be put away from you, with all maliciousnesse.
4:32Be ye courteous one to another, and tender hearted, freely forgiuing one another, euen as God for Christes sake, freely forgaue you.
