Ephesians - Chapter: 5

>
5:1Be ye folowers of God as deare children,
5:2and walke in loue euen as Christe loued vs, and gaue hym selfe for vs, an offeringe, and a sacrifice of a swete sauoure to God.
5:3So that fornicacion and vncleanes, or couetousnes be not ones named amonge you, as it becommeth sainctes:
5:4neyther fylthynes, neyther folyshe talkinge, neither gestinge whiche are not comely: but rather geuinge of thankes.
5:5For this ye knowe, that no whormonger, other vncleane persone, or couetous person, whyche is the worshypper of Images, hath anye inheritaunce in the kyngdome of Christe and of God.
5:6Let no man deceiue you with vayne wordes. For thorowe suche thinges commeth the wrath of God vpon the children of vnbelefe.
5:7Be not therfore companions wyth them.
5:8Ye were ones darckenes, but are nowe lyghte in the Lorde. Walke as chyldren of lyghte.
5:9For the fruite of the spirite is in all goodnes, ryghtuousnes and trueth.
5:10Accepte that whiche is pleasinge to the Lorde:
5:11and haue no fellowshyp wyth the vnfruitfull workes of darckenes: but rather rebuke them.
5:12For it is shame euen to name those thinges, whiche are done of them in secrete:
5:13but all thinges, when they are rebuked of the lyghte are manifeste. For what soeuer is manifeste, that same is lyght.
5:14Wherfore he sayth: awake thou that slepest, and stand vp from death, and Christ shall geue the lyght.
5:15Take hede therfore that ye walke circumspectlye: not as foles, but as wyse
5:16redeminge the time, for the dayes are iuel.
5:17Wherfore be ye not vnwise, but vnderstande what the wyll of the Lorde is,
5:18and be not drounke wt wyne. wherin is excesse, but be fulfylled wyth the spirite,
5:19speakinge vnto your selues in Psalmes, and Hymnes, and spiritual sounges, singing and makinge melodye to the Lorde in your hertes,
5:20geuinge thankes alwayes for al thinges vnto God the father, in the name of oure Lorde Iesu Christe,
5:21submittinge your selues one to another in the feare of God.
5:22Women submitte youre selues vnto your owne husbandes, as vnto the Lorde.
5:23For the husbande is the wyues head, euen as Christe is the heade of the congregation, and the same is the sauiour of the body.
5:24Therfore as the congregation is in subieccion to Christe, lykewyse let the wyues be in subieccion to theyr husbandes in all thynges.
5:25Husbandes loue youre wyues, euen as Christe loued the congregation, and gaue him selfe for it,
5:26to sanctifye it, and cleansed it in the fountayne of water thorowe the worde
5:27to make it vnto hym selfe a glorious congregation wythout spotte or wrinckle, or anye suche thinge: but that it shoulde be holy and wythout blame.
5:28So ought men to loue theyr wyues, as their owne bodies. He that loueth hys wyfe, loueth him selfe.
5:29For no man euer yet hated hys owne fleshe, but norisheth and cherisseth it euen as the Lorde doeth the congregation.
5:30For we are members of his bodie, of his fleshe, and of hys bones.
5:31For this cause shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall continue wyth hys wyfe, and two shalbe made one fleshe.
5:32Thys is a greate secrete, but I speake betwene Christe and the congregation.
5:33Neuerthelesse do ye so that euerye one of you loue his wyfe truely euen as hym selfe: And let the wyfe se that she feare her husbande.

5:1Be ye therfore folowers of God as deare chyldren,
5:2and walke ye in loue euen as Christ loued vs, and gaue him selfe for vs an offerynge and a sacrifyce of a swete sauer to God
5:3As for fornicacyon and all vnclennes, or coueteousnes let it not be once uamed amonge you, as it be commeth saynctes:
5:4or fylthines or folysshe talkynge, or iestinge, which are not comly: but rather geuynge of thankes.
5:5For thys ye knowe that no whormonger, ether vncleane person, or coueteous person, (which is a worshypper of ymages) hath eny inheritaunce in the kyngdome of Chryst and of God.
5:6Let no man deceaue you with vayne wordes. For because of soche thynges commeth the wrath of God, vpon the chyldren of disobedience.
5:7Be not ye therfore companyons of them.
5:8Ye were somtyme darcknes, but nowe are ye lyght in the Lorde. Walke as children of lyght
5:9(For the frute of the sprete consysteth in all goodnes, and ryghtewesnes and trueth.)
5:10Searchynge what is acceptable vnto the Lorde.
5:11And haue no fellyshyppe with the vnfrutefull workes of darcknes but rather rebuke them.
5:12For it is shame euen to name those thynges which are done of them in secrete:
5:13but all thynges, when they are brought forthe by the lyght, are manifeste. For whatsoeuer is manifeste, that same is lyght.
5:14Wherfore he sayth: awake thou that slepest, and stonde vp from deeth, and Chryst shall geue the lyght.
5:15Take hede therfore howe ye walke circumspectly: not as vnwyse, but as wyse men.
5:16Wynnynge occasyon, because the dayes are euyll.
5:17Wherfore, be ye not vnwyse, but vnderstande what the wyll of the Lorde is,
5:18and be not droncke with wyne wherin is excesse: but be fylled with the sprete,
5:19speakynge vnto youre selues in psalmes and hymnes, and spretuall songes, synginge and makyng melodie to the Lorde in youre hertes,
5:20gyuynge thankes allwayes for all thynges, vnto God the father in the name of oure Lorde Iesus Chryst,
5:21submittynge youre selues one to another in the feare of God.
5:22Ye wemen, submit youre selues vnto youre awne husbandes, as vnto the Lorde.
5:23For the husbande is the wyues heed, euen as Chryst is the heed of the congregacyon, and the same is he that ministreth saluacion vnto the body.
5:24Therfore, as the congregacyon is in subieccyon to Chryst, lykewyse let the wyues also be in subieccyon to theyr husbandes in all thinges.
5:25Ye husbandes, loue youre wyues, euen as Chryst also loued the congregacyon, and gaue hym selfe for it,
5:26to sanctifye it, and clensed it in the fountayne of water thorow the worde,
5:27to make it vnto him selfe a gloryous congregacyon, without spot or wrynckle, or eny soche thynge: but that it shulde be holy, and without blame.
5:28So ought men to loue theyr wyues, as their awne bodyes. He that loueth hys wyfe, loueth hym selfe.
5:29For no man euer yet hated hys awne flesshe: but noryssheth and cherissheth it, euen as the Lorde doth the congregacyon.
5:30For we are members of his body, of his flesshe, and of hys bones.
5:31For thys cause shall a man leaue father and mother, & shall be ioyned vnto his wyfe, and of two shalbe made one flesshe.
5:32Thys is a greate secrete, but I speake of Chryst and of the congregacyon.
5:33Neuerthelesse, do ye so, that euery one loue hys wyfe euen as hym selfe, and let the wyfe reuerence her husbande.

5:1Bee yee therefore followers of God, as deare children,
5:2And walke in loue, euen as Christ hath loued vs, and hath giuen himselfe for vs, to be an offering and a sacrifice of a sweete smellling sauour to God.
5:3But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes,
5:4Neither filthinesse, neither foolish talking, neither iesting, which are things not comely, but rather giuing of thankes.
5:5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, neither vncleane person, nor couetous person, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdome of Christ, and of God.
5:6Let no man deceiue you with vaine wordes: for, for such thinges commeth the wrath of God vpon the children of disobedience.
5:7Be not therefore companions with them.
5:8For ye were once darkenesse, but are nowe light in the Lord: walke as children of light,
5:9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in al goodnes, and righteousnes, and trueth)
5:10Approuing that which is pleasing to the Lord.
5:11And haue no fellowship with ye vnfruitfull works of darknes, but euen reproue them rather.
5:12For it is shame euen to speake of the things which are done of them in secret.
5:13But all thinges when they are reproued of the light, are manifest: for it is light that maketh all things manifest.
5:14Wherefore hee sayeth, Awake thou that sleepest, and stande vp from the deade, and Christ shall giue thee light.
5:15Take heede therefore that yee walke circumspectly, not as fooles, but as wise,
5:16Redeeming ye season: for ye daies are euill.
5:17Wherefore, be ye not vnwise, but vnderstand what the will of the Lord is.
5:18And be not drunke with wine, wherein is excesse: but be fulfilled with the Spirit,
5:19Speaking vnto your selues in psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing, and making melodie to the Lord in your hearts,
5:20Giuing thankes alwaies for all thinges vnto God euen the Father, in the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ,
5:21Submitting your selues one to another in the feare of God.
5:22Wiues, submit your selues vnto your husbands, as vnto the Lord.
5:23For the husband is the wiues head, euen as Christ is the head of the Church, and the same is the sauiour of his body.
5:24Therfore as the Church is in subiection to Christ, euen so let the wiues be to their husbands in euery thing.
5:25Husbands, loue your wiues, euen as Christ loued the Church, and gaue himselfe for it,
5:26That hee might sanctifie it, and clense it by the washing of water through the worde,
5:27That hee might make it vnto him selfe a glorious Church, not hauing spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it shoulde bee holy and without blame.
5:28So ought men to loue their wiues, as their owne bodies: he that loueth his wife, loueth him selfe.
5:29For no man euer yet hated his owne flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, euen as the Lord doeth the Church.
5:30For we are members of his bodie, of his flesh, and of his bones.
5:31For this cause shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall cleaue to his wife, and they twaine shalbe one flesh.
5:32This is a great secrete, but I speake concerning Christ, and concerning the Church.
5:33Therefore euery one of you, doe ye so: let euery one loue his wife, euen as himselfe, and let the wife see that shee feare her husband.
