Ephesians - Chapter: 5

>
5:1Become, then, followers of God, as children beloved,
5:2and walk in love, as also the Christ did love us, and did give himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell,
5:3and whoredom, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
5:4also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting, -- the things not fit -- but rather thanksgiving;
5:5for this ye know, that every whoremonger, or unclean, or covetous person, who is an idolater, hath no inheritance in the reign of the Christ and God.
5:6Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,
5:7become not, then, partakers with them,
5:8for ye were once darkness, and now light in the Lord; as children of light walk ye,
5:9for the fruit of the Spirit `is' in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,
5:10proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord,
5:11and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict,
5:12for the things in secret done by them it is a shame even to speak of,
5:13and all the things reproved by the light are manifested, for everything that is manifested is light;
5:14wherefore he saith, `Arouse thyself, thou who art sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.'
5:15See, then, how exactly ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
5:16redeeming the time, because the days are evil;
5:17because of this become not fools, but -- understanding what `is' the will of the Lord,
5:18and be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in the Spirit,
5:19speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
5:20giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father;
5:21subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.
5:22The wives! to your own husbands subject yourselves, as to the Lord,
5:23because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ `is' head of the assembly, and he is saviour of the body,
5:24but even as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also `are' the wives to their own husbands in everything.
5:25The husbands! love your own wives, as also the Christ did love the assembly, and did give himself for it,
5:26that he might sanctify it, having cleansed `it' with the bathing of the water in the saying,
5:27that he might present it to himself the assembly in glory, not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;
5:28so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife -- himself he doth love;
5:29for no one ever his own flesh did hate, but doth nourish and cherish it, as also the Lord -- the assembly,
5:30because members we are of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones;
5:31`for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they shall be -- the two -- for one flesh;'
5:32this secret is great, and I speak in regard to Christ and to the assembly;
5:33but ye also, every one in particular -- let each his own wife so love as himself, and the wife -- that she may reverence the husband.

5:1Be ye folowers of god as dere children
5:2and walke in love even as Christ loved vs and gave him silfe for vs an offerynge and a sacrifyce of a swete saver to god.
5:3So that fornicacion and all vnclennes or coveteousnes be not once named amonge you as it be commeth saynctes:
5:4nether filthynes nether folishe talkyng nether gestinge which are not comly: but rather gevynge of thankes
5:5For this ye knowe yt no whormonger other vnclene person or coveteous person which is the worshipper of ymages hath eny inheritaunce in the kyngdome of Christ and of God.
5:6Let no ma deceave you with vayne wordes. For thorow soche thinges cometh the wrath of God vpon the chyldre of vnbelefe.
5:7Be not therfore companions with them.
5:8Ye were once dercknes but are now light in the Lorde. Walke as chyldren of light.
5:9For the frute of the sprete is in all goodnes rightewesnes and trueth.
5:10Accept that which is pleasinge to the Lorde:
5:11and have no fellishippe with the vnfrutfull workes of dercknes: but rather rebuke them.
5:12For it is shame even to name those thinges which are done of them in secrete:
5:13but all thinges when they are rebuked of the light are manifest. For whatsoever is manifest that same is light.
5:14Wherfore he sayth: awake thou that slepest and stond vp from deeth and Christ shall geve the light.
5:15Take hede therfore that ye walke circuspectly: not as foles: but as wyse
5:16redemynge the tyme: for ye dayes are evyll.
5:17Wherfore be ye not vnwyse but vnderstonde what the will of the Lorde is
5:18and be not dronke with wyne wherin is excesse: but be fulfilled with the sprete
5:19speakynge vnto youre selves in psalmes and ymnes and spretuall songes synginge and makinge melodie to ye Lorde in youre hertes
5:20gevinge thankes all wayes for all thinges vnto God the father in the name of oure Lorde Iesu Christ:
5:21submittinge youre selves one to another in the feare of God.
5:22Wemen submit youre selves vnto youre awne husbandes as vnto the Lorde.
5:23For the husbande is the wyves heed even as Christ is the heed of the congregacion and the same is the saveoure of the body.
5:24Therfore as the cogregacion is in subieccion to Christ lykwyse let the wyves be in subieccion to their husbandes in all thinges.
5:25Husbandes love youre wyves even as Christ loved the congregacion and gave him silfe for it
5:26to sanctifie it and clensed it in the fountayne of water thorow the worde
5:27to make it vnto him selfe a glorious congregacion with oute spot or wrynckle or eny soche thinge: but that it shuld be holy and with out blame.
5:28So ought men to love their wyves as their awne bodyes. He that loveth his wyfe loveth him sylfe.
5:29For no ma ever yet hated his awne flesshe: but norissheth and cherisseth it even as the lorde doth the congregacion.
5:30For we are members of his body of his flesshe and of his bones.
5:31For this cause shall a man leave father and mother and shall cotinue with his wyfe and two shalbe made one flesshe.
5:32This is a great secrete but I speake bitwene Christ and the cogregacion.
5:33Neverthelesse do ye so that every one of you love his wyfe truely even as him silfe. And let ye wyfe se that she feare her husbade.

5:1Be ye the folowers therfore of God as deare children,
5:2and walke in loue, euen as Christ loued vs, and gaue him selfe for vs an offerynge and sacrifice of a swete sauoure vnto God.
5:3As for whordome and all vnclennes, or couetousnes, let it not be named amoge you, as it becommeth sayntes:
5:4nether fylthines, ner folish talkynge, ner ieastynge (which are not comly) but rather geuynge of thakes.
5:5For be sure, that no whore monger, or vncleane person, or couetous person (which is a worshipper off ymages) hath inheritaunce in the kyngdome of Christ and of God.
5:6(Let no man disceaue you with vayne wordes) for because of these commeth the wrath of God vpon the children of vnbeleue.
5:7Be not ye therfore companions with them.
5:8For sometyme ye were darknesse, but now are ye lighte in the LORDE. Walke as the children of lighte.
5:9(For the frute of the sprete is all maner of goodnes, and righteousnes and trueth:)
5:10and prone what is pleasinge vnto the LORDE,
5:11and haue no fellishippe with ye vnfrutefull workes of darknes, but rather rebuke the.
5:12For it is shame euen to name those thinges, which are done of them in secrete.
5:13But all thinges are manifest, whan they are rebuked of the lighte. For what so euer is manifest, that same is lighte.
5:14Therfore sayeth he: Awake thou that slepest, and stonde vp fro the deed, and Christ shal geue the lighte.
5:15Take hede therfore how ye walke circumspectly, not as the vnwyse, but as ye wyse,
5:16and redeme the tyme, for it is a miserable tyme.
5:17Wherfore be not ye vnwyse, but vnderstonde what the wil of the LORDE is,
5:18and be not dronken with wyne, wherin is excesse: but be full of the sprete
5:19and talke amoge youre selues of Psalmes, and ymnes, and spirituall songes, synginge and makynge melody vnto the LORDE in youre hertes
5:20geuynge thankes alwayes for all thinges vnto God the father, in the name of oure LORDE Iesus Christ,
5:21submyttinge youreselues one to another in the feare of God.
5:22Let the wemen submytte them selues vnto their hussbandes, as vnto the LORDE.
5:23For the hussbande is the wyues heade, eue as Christ also is the heade of the congregacion, and he is the Sauioure of his body.
5:24Therfore as the congregacion is in subieccion to Christ, likewyse let the wyues be in subieccion to their hussbandes in all thinges.
5:25Ye hussbandes loue youre wyues, euen as Christ loued the congregacion, and gaue himselfe for it,
5:26to sanctifye it, and clensed it in the fountayne of water by the worde,
5:27to make it vnto himselfe a glorious congregacion, hauynge no spot ner wrynkle, ner eny soch thinge, but that it shulde be holy and without blame.
5:28So oughte men also to loue their wyues, euen as their awne bodyes. He that loueth his wife, loueth himselfe.
5:29For no ma euer yet hated his awne flesshe, but norisheth and cherissheth it, euen as the LORDE doth also the congregacion.
5:30For we are membres of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.
5:31For this cause shal a man leaue father and mother, and cleue vnto his wife, and they two shal be one flesh:
5:32This is a greate secrete: but I speake of Christ and the congregacion.
5:33Neuertheles do ye so, that euery one of you loue his wife euen as himselfe: but let the wife feare hir hussbande.
