| 3:1 | Wherfore, sence we coulde no lenger forbeare, we thought it good to remayne at Athens alone, |
| 3:2 | and sent Timothe oure brother & mynyster of God, and the helper forth of oure laboure in the Gospell of Christ, to stablisshe you: and to conforte you concernyng our fayt |
| 3:3 | that no man shulde be moued in these affliccyons, For ye your selues knowe, that we are euen apoynted there vnto. |
| 3:4 | For when we were wyth you, we tolde you before, that we shude suffre tribulacyon, euen as it came to passe, and as ye knowe. |
| 3:5 | For this cause when I coulde no lenger forbeare, I sent that I myght haue knowledge of youre fayth, lest by some meanes the tempter had tempted you, and lest oure laboure had bene bestowed in vayne. |
| 3:6 | But now lately, when Timothe came from you vnto vs, & declared to vs your faith & your loue, & how that ye haue good remembraunce of vs allwayes, desyrynge to se vs as we also desyre to se you. |
| 3:7 | Therfore brethren we receaued consolacyon by you, in all our aduersite & necessite, through your fayth. |
| 3:8 | For now are we alyue, yf ye stande stedfast in the Lorde. |
| 3:9 | For what thankes can we recompence to God agayne for you, ouer al the ioye, that we ioye for your sakes before our God: |
| 3:10 | praying nyght and daye exceadyngly, that we might se you presently, and myght fulfyll the thynges which are lackynge vnto youre fayth. |
| 3:11 | God him selfe oure father, and oure Lorde Iesus Christ shall gyde oure iorney vnto you: |
| 3:12 | the Lord also shall increace you & make you flowe ouer in loue one toward another, and towarde all men, euen as we do toward you, |
| 3:13 | that he maye make youre hertes stable & vnblameable, in holynes before God oure father, at the commynge of oure Lorde Iesus Christ with all saynctes. |

| 3:5 | Therfor Y Poul, no lenger abidinge, sente to knowe youre feith, lest perauenture he that temptith tempte you, and youre trauel be maad veyn. |
| 3:6 | But now, whanne Tymothe schal come to vs fro you, and telle to vs youre feith and charite, and that ye han good mynde of vs, euere desyringe to se vs, as we also you; |
| 3:7 | therfor, britheren, we ben coumfortid in you, in al oure nede and tribulacioun, bi youre feith. |
| 3:8 | For now we lyuen, if ye stonden in the Lord. |
| 3:9 | For what doyng of thankingis moun we yelde to God for you, in al ioye, in which we ioyen for you bifor oure Lord? |
| 3:10 | nyyt and dai more plenteuousli preiynge, that we se youre face, and fulfille tho thingis that failen to youre feith. |
| 3:11 | But God hym silf and oure fadir, and the Lord Jhesu Crist, dresse oure weye to you. |
| 3:12 | And the Lord multiplie you, and make youre charite to be plenteuouse of ech to othere, and in to alle men, as also we in you; |
| 3:13 | that youre hertis ben confermyd with outen pleynt in holynesse, bifor God and oure fadir, in the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist with alle hise seyntis. Amen. |

| 3:12 | But the LORDE increace you, & make you flowe ouer in loue one towarde another, and towarde all men (euen as we do towarde you) |
| 3:13 | that yor hertes maye be stable and vnblameable in holynes before God oure father, at the commynge of oure LORDE Iesus Christ with all his sayntes. |
