1 Thessalonians - Chapter: 5

>
5:1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, yee haue no need that I write vnto you.
5:2For your selues knowe perfectly that the day of the Lord so commeth as a thiefe in the night.
5:3For when they shal say, Peace and safety: then sudden destructio commeth vpon them, as trauaile vpon a woman with childe, and they shall not escape.
5:4But ye, brethren, are not in darkenesse, that that day should ouertake you as a thiefe.
5:5Yee are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkenesse.
5:6Therefore let vs not sleepe, as doe others: but let vs watch and be sober.
5:7For they that sleepe, sleepe in the night, and they that bee drunken, are drunken in the night.
5:8But let vs who are of the day, bee sober, putting on the brestplate of faith and loue, and for an helmet, the hope of saluation.
5:9For God hath not appointed vs to wrath: but to obtaine saluation by our Lord Iesus Christ,
5:10Who died for vs, that whether we wake or sleepe, we should liue together with him.
5:11Wherefore, comfort your selues together, and edifie one another, euen as also ye doe.
5:12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are ouer you in the Lord, and admonish you:
5:13And to esteeme them very highly in loue for their workes sake, and be at peace among your selues.
5:14Now we exhort you, brethren, warne them that are vnruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weake, be patient toward all men.
5:15See that none render euill for euill vnto any man: but euer follow that which is good, both among your selues and to all men.
5:16Reioyce euermore:
5:17Pray without ceasing:
5:18In euery thing giue thankes: for this is the will of God in Christ Iesus concerning you.
5:19Quench not the spirit:
5:20Despise not prophecyings:
5:21Proue all things: hold fast that which is good.
5:22Abstaine from all appearance of euill.
5:23And the very God of peace sanctifie you wholly: and I pray God your whole spirit, and soule, and body be preserued blamelesse vnto the comming of our Lord Iesus Christ.
5:24Faithfull is hee that calleth you, who also will doe it.
5:25Brethren, pray for vs.
5:26Greete all the brethren with an holy kisse.
5:27I charge you by the Lord, that this Epistle bee read vnto all the holy brethren.
5:28The grace of our Lord Iesus Christ be with you, Amen. The first Epistle vnto the Thessalonians, was written from Athens.

5:1Bvt of ye tymes and seasons (brethre) it is no nede to wryte vnto you.
5:2For ye youre selues knowe perfectly, that the daye of the LORDE shal come euen as a thefe in the nighte.
5:3For whan they shal saye: Tush, It is peace, there is no daunger, then shall soden destruccion come vpo the, euen as the payne of a woman trauaylinge with childe, and they shal not escape.
5:4But ye brethren are not in darknes, that that daye shulde come on you as a thefe.
5:5Ye are alltogether children of lighte, and children of the daye. We are not of the night, nether of darknesse.
5:6Therfore let vs not slepe as do other, but let vs watch, and be sober.
5:7For they that slepe, slepe in the nighte: and they that be dronken, are dronken in the nighte.
5:8But let vs which are of the daye, be sober, armed wt the brestplate of faith and loue, and with ye helmet of hope to saluacion.
5:9For God hath not appoynted vs vnto wrath, but to optayne saluacion by ye meanes of oure LORDE Iesu Christ,
5:10which dyed for vs: that whether we wake or slepe, we shulde lyue together with him.
5:11Wherfore comforte youre selues together, and edifye one another, euen as ye do.

5:24Faithfull is he which hath called you, which wil also do it.
5:25Brethren, praye for vs.
5:26Grete all the brethre with an holy kysse.
5:27I charge you by ye LORDE, that this epistle be red vnto all ye holy brethren.
5:28The grace of oure LORDE Iesus Christ be with you, Amen.
