| 4:1 | Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Iesus, that as yee haue receiued of vs, how ye ought to walke, and to please God, so yee would abound more and more. |
| 4:2 | For yee know what commandements wee gaue you, by the Lord Iesus. |
| 4:3 | For this is the will of God, euen your sanctification, that yee should absteine from fornication: |
| 4:4 | That euery one of you should know how to possesse his vessell in sanctification and honour: |
| 4:5 | Not in the lust of concupiscence, euen as the Gentiles which know not God: |
| 4:6 | That no man goe beyond and defraud his brother in any matter, because that the Lord is the auenger of all such; as we also haue forewarned you, and testified: |
| 4:7 | For God hath not called vs vnto vncleannesse, but vnto holinesse. |
| 4:8 | He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also giuen vnto vs his holy Spirit. |
| 4:9 | But as touching brotherly loue, ye need not that I write vnto you: for yee your selues are taught of God to loue one an other. |
| 4:10 | And in deed ye doe it towards all the brethren, which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more: |
| 4:11 | And that ye studie to be quiet, and to doe your owne businesse, and to worke with your owne hands, (as wee commanded you:) |
| 4:12 | That ye may walke honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may haue lacke of nothing. |
| 4:13 | But I would not haue you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleepe, that ye sorrow not, euen as others which haue no hope. |
| 4:14 | For if we beleeue that Iesus died, and rose againe: euen so them also which sleepe in Iesus, will God bring with him. |
| 4:15 | For this we say vnto you by the word of the Lord, That we which are aliue and remaine vnto the comming of the Lord, shall not preuent them which are asleepe. |
| 4:16 | For the Lord himselfe shall descend from heauen with a shout, with the voyce of the Archangel, and with the trumpe of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. |
| 4:17 | Then we which are aliue, and remaine, shalbe caught vp together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the aire: and so shall wee euer bee with the Lord. |
| 4:18 | Wherefore, comfort one an other with these words. |
| 4:1 | Fvrthermore we beseke you brethren and exhorte you in the LORDE Iesus, that ye increace more and more, euen as ye haue receaued of vs how ye oughte to walke and to please God. |
| 4:2 | For ye knowe what commaundementes we gaue you by oure LORDE Iesus Christ. |
| 4:3 | For this is the will of God, euen youre sanctifienge, that ye shulde absteyne from whordome, |
| 4:4 | yt euery one of you shulde knowe how to kepe his vessell in holynes and honoure, |
| 4:5 | & not in the lust of concupiscence, as the Heythen which knowe not God. |
| 4:6 | And that no man go to farre, ner defraude his brother in bargayninge. For the LORDE is the auenger of all soch thinges, as we haue sayde & testified vnto you afore tyme. |
| 4:7 | For God hath not called vs to vnclennesse, but vnto holynes. |
| 4:8 | He therfore that despyseth, despyseth not man, but God, which hath geuen his holy sprete in to you. |
| 4:9 | But as touchinge brotherly loue, ye nede not that I wryte vnto you, for ye youre selues are taught of God to loue one another: |
| 4:10 | yee and that thinge ye do vnto all the brethre, which are thorow out all Macedonia. But we beseke you brethren that ye increace yet more and more, |
| 4:11 | and that ye study to be quyete, and to medle with youre awne busynesse, and to worke with youre awne hades, as we commaunded you, |
| 4:12 | that ye maye walke honestly towarde the that are without, and that nothinge be lackynge vnto you. |
| 4:13 | We wolde not brethren that ye shulde be ignoraunt concernynge them which are fallen a slepe, that ye sorowe not as other do which haue no hope. |
| 4:14 | For yf we beleue that Iesus dyed and rose agayne, euen so the also which slepe by Iesus, shal God brynge with him. |
| 4:15 | For this we saye vnto you in the worde of the LORDE, that we which lyue and are remaynynge in the comynge of the LORDE, shal not come yer they which slepe. |
| 4:16 | For the LORDE himselfe shal come downe fro heauen with a shoute and voyce of ye Archangell and with the trompe of God, and the deed in Christ shal aryse first: |
| 4:17 | then shal we which lyue and remayne, be caught vp wt them also in the cloudes, to mete the LORDE in the ayre, and so shal we euer be with the LORDE. |
| 4:18 | Wherfore comforte youre selues one another with these wordes. |
| 4:1 | Therfor, britheren, fro hennus forward we preien you, and bisechen in the Lord Jhesu, that as ye han resseyued of vs, hou it bihoueth you to go and to plese God, so walke ye, that ye abounde the more. |
| 4:2 | For ye witen what comaundementis Y haue youun to you bi the Lord Jhesu. |
| 4:3 | For this is the wille of God, youre holynesse, that ye absteyne you fro fornycacioun. |
| 4:4 | That ech of you kunne welde his vessel in holynesse, and onour; |
| 4:5 | not in passioun of lust, as hethene men that knowen not God. |
| 4:6 | And that no man ouergo, nethir disseyue his brothir in chaffaring. For the Lord is venger of alle these thingis, as we biforseiden to you, and han witnessid. |
| 4:7 | For God clepide not vs in to vnclennesse, but in to holynesse. |
| 4:8 | Therfor he that dispisith these thingis, dispisith not man, but God, that also yaf his holi spirit in vs. |
| 4:9 | But of the charite of britherhed we hadden no nede to write to you; ye silf han lerud of God, that ye loue togidere; |
| 4:10 | for ye don that in to alle britheren in al Macedonye. And, britheren, we preyen you, that ye abounde more; and taken kepe, that ye be quyet; |
| 4:11 | and that ye do youre nede, and `ye worche with youre hoondis, as we han comaundid to you; |
| 4:12 | that ye wandre onestli to hem that ben with outforth, and that of no mannus ye desir ony thing. |
| 4:13 | For, britheren, we wolen not, that ye vnknowe of men that dien, that ye be not soreuful, as othere that han not hope. |
| 4:14 | For if we bileuen, that Jhesu was deed, and roos ayen, so God schal lede with hym hem that ben deed bi Jhesu. |
| 4:15 | And we seien this thing to you in the word of the Lord, that we that lyuen, that ben left in the comyng of the Lord, schulen not come bifor hem that ben deed. |
| 4:16 | For the Lord hym silf schal come doun fro heuene, in the comaundement, and in the vois of an archaungel, and in the trumpe of God; and the deed men that ben in Crist, schulen rise ayen first. |
| 4:17 | Afterward we that lyuen, that ben left, schulen be rauyschid togidere with hem in cloudis, metinge Crist `in to the eir; and so euere more we schulen be with the Lord. |
| 4:18 | Therfor be ye coumfortid togidere in these wordis. |
