1 Timothy - Chapter: 5

>
5:1Rebuke not an elder: but exhorte hym as a father, and the yonger men as brethren
5:2the elder women as mothers, the yonger as systers, with all purenes.
5:3Honour wyddowes, whiche are true wyddowes.
5:4Yf any wyddowe haue chyldren or neues, let them learne fyrst to rule theyr owne houses godlye and to recompence theyr elders. For that is good and acceptable before God.
5:5She that is a verye wydowe and fryndelesse, putteth her trust in God & contynueth in supplicacyon & prayer nyghte and daye.
5:6But she that lyueth in pleasure, is dead euen yet alyue.
5:7And these thynges commaunde, that they may be wythout faute.
5:8Yf there be anye that prouideth not for hys owne, & namely for them of hys housholde the same denyeth the fayth, & is worsse then an infydele.
5:9Let no wydowe be chosen vnder thre score yere olde, and suche a one as was the wyfe of one man,
5:10and well reported of in good workes: yf she haue nouryshed chyldren, yf she haue bene lyberall to straungers, yf she haue washed the saynctes fete, yf she haue mynystred vnto them whiche were in aduersitie, yf she were contynually geuen vnto all maner good workes.
5:11The yonger wydowes refuse. For when they haue begonne to waxe wanton to the dyshonoure of Christe, then wyll they marye,
5:12hauynge damnacion because they haue broken theyr fyrst fayth.
5:13And also they learne to go from house to house ydle, ye not ydle onelye, but also tryflynge and busybodyes speakynge thynges whiche are not comely.
5:14I wyll therfore that the yonger women marye and beare children, and guyde the house and geue none occasyon to the aduersarye to speake euyll.
5:15For many of them are alreadye turned backe and are gone after Sathan.
5:16And yf any man or woman that beleueth haue wydowes, let them mynyster vnto them, & lette not the congregacion be charged: that it maye haue suffycyent for them that are wyddowes in dede.
5:17The elders that rule well, are worthye of double honoure, most specyally they whiche laboure in the worde and in teachynge.
5:18For the scrypture sayeth: Thou shalt not mousell the mouthe of the oxe that treadeth out the corne. And the labourer is worthye of hys rewarde.
5:19Agaynste an elder receyue none accusacyon: but vnder two or thre wytnesses.
5:20Them that synne, rebuke openly, that other maye feare.
5:21I testyfye before God & the Lorde Iesus Christ, and the electe aungels, that thou obserue these thynges wythout hasty iudgement and do nothynge parcyally.
5:22Laye handes sodenly on no man, neyther be partakers of other mennes synnes: kepe thy self pure.
5:23Drink no lenger water, but vse a lytle wyne for thy stomakes sake, and thyne often dyseases.
5:24Some mennes sinnes are open before hand and go before vnto iudgemente: some mennes synnes folowe after.
5:25Lykewyse also good workes are manyfest before hande, and they that are otherwyse can not be hyd.

5:1Rebuke not an Elder, but exhort him as a father, and the yonger men as brethren,
5:2The elder women as mothers, the yonger as sisters, with all purenesse.
5:3Honour widowes, which are widowes in deede.
5:4But if any widowe haue children or nephewes, let them learne first to shewe godlinesse towarde their owne house, and to recompense their kinred: for that is an honest thing and acceptable before God.
5:5And shee that is a widowe in deede and left alone, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and praiers night and day.
5:6But shee that liueth in pleasure, is dead, while shee liueth.
5:7These things therefore warne them of, that they may be blamelesse.
5:8If there bee any that prouideth not for his owne, and namely for them of his housholde, hee denieth the faith, and is worse then an infidell.
5:9Let not a widow be taken into the number vnder three score yeere olde, that hath beene the wife of one husband,
5:10And well reported of for good woorkes: if shee haue nourished her children, if shee haue lodged the strangers, if shee haue washed the Saintes feete, if shee haue ministred vnto them which were in aduersitie, if shee were continually giuen vnto euery good woorke.
5:11But refuse the yonger widowes: for when they haue begun to waxe wanton against Christ, they will marrie,
5:12Hauing damnation, because they haue broken the first faith.
5:13And likewise also being idle they learne to goe about from house to house: yea, they are not onely ydle, but also pratlers and busibodies, speaking things which are not comely.
5:14I will therefore that the yonger women marie, and beare children, and gouerne the house, and giue none occasion to the aduersary to speake euill.
5:15For certaine are alreadie turned backe after Satan.
5:16If any faithfull man, or faithfull woman haue widowes, let them minister vnto them, and let not the Church bee charged, that there may bee sufficient for them that are widowes in deede.
5:17The Elders that rule well, let them be had in double honour, specially they which labour in the worde and doctrine,
5:18For the Scripture sayeth, Thou shalt not mousell the mouth of the oxe that treadeth out the corne: and, The labourer is worthie of his wages.
5:19Against an Elder receiue none accusation, but vnder two or three witnesses.
5:20Them that sinne, rebuke openly, that the rest also may feare.
5:21I charge thee before God and the Lord Iesus Christ, and the elect Angels, that thou obserue these thinges without preferring one to an other, and doe nothing partially.
5:22Lay handes suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other mens sinnes: keepe thy selfe pure.
5:23Drinke no longer water, but vse a litle wine for thy stomakes sake, and thine often infirmities.
5:24Some mens sinnes are open before hand, and goe before vnto iudgement: but some mens folowe after.
5:25Likewise also the good woorkes are manifest before hande, and they that are otherwise, cannot be hid.

5:1Rebuke not an Elder, but intreate him as a father, and the yonger men as brethren:
5:2The elder women as mothers, the yonger as sisters with all puritie.
5:3Honour widowes that are widowes indeed.
5:4But if any widow haue children or nephewes, let them learne first to shew pietie at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
5:5Now she that is a widow in deed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
5:6But she that liueth in pleasure, is dead while she liueth.
5:7And these things giue in charge, that they may be blamelesse.
5:8But if any prouide not for his owne, & specially for those of his owne house, hee hath denied the faith, and is worse then an infidel.
5:9Let not a widow bee taken into the number, vnder threescore yeeres old, hauing bene the wife of one man,
5:10Well reported of for good works, if shee haue brought vp children, if shee haue lodged strangers, if she haue washed the Saints feet, if shee haue releeued the afflicted, if shee haue diligently followed euery good worke.
5:11But the yonger widowes refuse: for when they haue begunne to waxe wanton against Christ, they will marry,
5:12Hauing damnation, because they haue cast off their first faith.
5:13And withall they learne to bee idle, wandering about from house to house; and not onely idle, but tatlers also, and busibodies, speaking things which they ought not.
5:14I will therefore that the yonger women marry, beare children, guid the house, giue none occasion to the aduersary to speake reprochfully.
5:15For some are already turned aside after Satan.
5:16If any man or woman that beleeueth haue widowes, let them relieue them, and let not the Church be charged, that it may relieue them that are widowes indeed.
5:17Let the Elders that rule well, be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
5:18For the Scripture saith, Thou shalt not mousell the oxe that treadeth out the corne: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
5:19Against an Elder receiue not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
5:20Them that sinne rebuke before all, that others also may feare.
5:21I charge thee before God, and the Lord Iesus Christ, and the elect Angels, that thou obserue these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partialitie.
5:22Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither bee partaker of other mens sinnes. Keepe thy selfe pure.
5:23Drinke no longer water, but vse a little wine for thy stomackes sake, and thine often infirmities.
5:24Some mens sinnes are open before hand, going before to iudgement: and some men they follow after.
5:25Likewise also the good works of some are manifest before hand, and they that are otherwise, cannot be hid.
