| 2:2 | And the things that thou hast heard of mee among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithfull men, who shall be able to teach others also. |

| 2:4 | No man that warreth, intangleth himselfe with the affaires of this life, that hee may please him who hath chosen him to be a souldJeremiah |
| 2:5 | And if a man also striue for masteries, yet is hee not crowned except hee striue lawfully. |
| 2:6 | The husbandman that laboureth, must bee first partaker of the fruites. |
| 2:7 | Consider what I say, and the Lord giue thee vnderstanding in all things. |
| 2:8 | Remember that Iesus Christ of the seede of Dauid, was raised from the dead, according to my Gospel: |
| 2:9 | Wherein I suffer trouble as an euill doer, euen vnto bonds: but the word of God is not bound. |
| 2:10 | Therefore I indure all things for the elects sakes, that they may also obtaine the saluation which is in Christ Iesus, with eternall glory. |
| 2:11 | It is a faithfull saying: for if we bee dead with him, wee shall also liue with him. |
| 2:12 | If we suffer, we shall also reigne with him: if wee denie him, hee also will denie vs. |
| 2:13 | If we beleeue not, yet he abideth faithfull, he cannot denie himselfe. |
| 2:14 | Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord, that they striue not about words to no profite, but to the subuerting of the hearers. |
| 2:15 | Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly diuiding the word of trueth. |
| 2:16 | But shun profane and vaine bablings, for they will increase vnto more vngodlinesse. |
| 2:17 | And their word will eate as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus. |
| 2:18 | Who concerning the trueth haue erred, saying that the resurrection is past alreadie, and ouerthrow the faith of some. |
| 2:19 | Neuerthelesse the foundation of God standeth sure, hauing the seale, the Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let euery one that nameth the Name of Christ, depart from iniquitie. |
| 2:20 | But in a great house, there are not onely vessels of gold, and of siluer, but also a wood, & of earth: and some to honour, and some to dishonour. |
| 2:21 | If a man therefore purge himselfe from these, he shal be a vessell vnto honour, sanctified, and meete for the Masters vse, and prepared vnto euery good worke. |
| 2:22 | Flie also youthfull lusts: but follow righteousnesse, faith, charitie, peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. |
| 2:23 | But foolish and vnlearned questions auoid, knowing that they doe gender strifes. |
| 2:24 | And the seruant of the Lord must not striue: but bee gentle vnto all men, apt to teach, patient, |
| 2:25 | In meekenesse instructing those that oppose themselues, if God peraduenture will giue them repentance to the acknowledging of the trueth. |
| 2:26 | And that they may recouer themselues out of the snare of the deuill, who are taken captiue by him at his will. |

| 2:5 | And though a man stryue for a mastrye, yet is he not crowned, excepte he stryue laufully. |
| 2:6 | The hussbandman that laboureth, must first enioye the frutes. |
| 2:7 | Consydre what I saye. The LORDE shal geue the vnderstondynge in all thinges. |
| 2:8 | Remembre that Iesus Christ, beynge of the sede of Dauid, rose agayne fro the deed, acordynge to my Gospell, |
| 2:9 | where in I suffre as an euell doer euen vnto bandes: but the worde of God is not bounde. |
| 2:10 | Therfore suffre I all for the electes sakes, that they also mighte optayne the saluacion in Christ Iesu with eternall glory. |
| 2:11 | This is a true sayenge: Yf we be deed wt him, we shal lyue with him also: |
| 2:12 | Yf we be pacient, we shal also raigne with him: Yf we denye him, he also shal denye vs: |
| 2:13 | Yf we beleue not, yet abydeth he faithfull, he can not denye himselfe. |
| 2:14 | Of these thinges put thou them in remebraunce, and testifye before the LORDE, that they stryue not aboute wordes, which is to no profit, but to peruerte the hearers. |
| 2:15 | Study to shewe thy selfe vnto God a laudable workman, that nedeth not to be ashamed, deuydynge the worde of trueth iustly. |
| 2:16 | As for vngoostly and vayne talkynges, eschue them: for they helpe moch to vngodlynes, |
| 2:17 | and their worde fretteth as doth a canker: Of whose nombre is Hymeneos & Philetus, |
| 2:18 | which as concernynge the trueth haue erred, sayenge, that the resurreccion is past allready, and haue destroyed the faith of dyuerse personnes. |
| 2:19 | But ye sure grounde of God stondeth fast, and hath this seale: The LORDE knoweth them that are his, and let euery ma that calleth vpon the name of Christ, departe from iniquyte. |
| 2:20 | Not withstondynge in a greate house are not onely vessels of golde and of syluer, but also of wod and of earth: some for honoure, and some to dishonoure. |
| 2:21 | But yf a man pourge himselfe from soch felowes, he shalbe a vessell sanctified vnto honoure, mete for the LORDE, and prepared vnto all good workes. |
| 2:22 | Fle thou the lustes of youth, but folowe righteousnes, faith, loue, peace, with all them that call vpon the LORDE with pure hert. |
| 2:23 | As for folish questions and soch as teach not, put them fro the: for thou knowest that they do but geder stryfe. |
| 2:24 | The seruaunt of the LORDE ought not to stryue, but to be gentle vnto euery man: apte to teach, one that can forbeare |
| 2:25 | the euell, one yt can with mekenesse enfourme them yt resist: yf God at eny tyme wyl geue them repentaunce for to knowe the trueth, |
| 2:26 | and to turne agayne from the snare of the deuell, which are holden in preson of him at his will. |

| 2:4 | No man holdinge knyythod to God, wlappith hym silf with worldli nedis, that he plese to hym, to whom he hath preuyd hym silf. |
| 2:5 | For he that fiytith in a batel, schal not be corowned, but he fiyte lawfuli. |
| 2:6 | It bihoueth an erthetiliere to resseyue first of the fruytis. |
| 2:7 | Vndurstonde thou what thingis Y seie. For the Lord schal yyue to thee vndurstonding in alle thingis. |
| 2:8 | Be thou myndeful that the Lord Jhesu Crist of the seed of Dauid hath rise ayen fro deth, |
| 2:9 | aftir my gospel, in which Y trauele `til to boondis, as worching yuele, but the word of God is not boundun. |
| 2:10 | Therfor Y suffre alle thingis for the chosun, that also thei gete the heelthe, that is in Crist Jhesu, with heuenli glorie. |
| 2:11 | A trewe word, that if we ben deed togidere, also we schulen liue togidere; |
| 2:12 | if we suffren, we schulen regne togidere; if we denyen, he schal denye vs; |
| 2:13 | if we bileuen not, he dwellith feithful, he mai not denye hym silf. |
| 2:14 | Teche thou these thingis, witnessinge bifore God. Nyle thou stryue in wordis; for to no thing it is profitable, but to the subuerting of men that heren. |
| 2:15 | Bisili kepe to yyue thi silf a preued preisable werkman to God, with oute schame, riytli tretinge the word of treuthe. |
| 2:16 | But eschewe thou vnhooli and veyn spechis, for whi tho profiten myche to vnfeithfulnesse, |
| 2:17 | and the word of hem crepith as a canker. Of whiche Filete is, and Ymeneus, |
| 2:18 | whiche felden doun fro the treuthe, seiynge that the rising ayen is now doon, and thei subuertiden the feith of summen. |
| 2:19 | But the sad foundement of God stondith, hauynge this marke, The Lord knowith whiche ben hise, and, Ech man that nameth the name of the Lord, departith fro wickidnesse. |
| 2:20 | But in a greet hous ben not oneli vessels of gold and of siluer, but also of tree and of erthe; and so summen ben in to onour, and summe in to dispit. |
| 2:21 | Therfor if ony man clensith hym silf fro these, he schal be a vessel halewid in to onour, and profitable to the Lord, redi to al good werk. |
| 2:22 | And fle thou desiris of yongthe, but sue thou riytwisnesse, feith, charite, pees, with hem that inwardli clepen the Lord of a clene herte. |
| 2:23 | And eschewe thou foltische questiouns, and without kunnyng, wytynge that tho gendren chidyngis. |
| 2:24 | But it bihoueth the seruaunt of the Lord to chide not; but to be mylde to alle men, able to teche, |
| 2:25 | paciente, with temperaunce repreuynge hem that ayenstonden the treuthe, that sum tyme God yyue to hem forthenkyng, that thei knowen the treuthe, |
| 2:26 | and that thei rise ayen fro the snares of the deuel, of whom thei ben holdun prisoneris at his wille. |
