| 3:1 | But wite thou this thing, that in the laste daies perelouse tymes schulen neiye, and men schulen be louynge hem silf, |
| 3:2 | coueitouse, hiy of bering, proude, blasfemeris, not obedient to fadir and modir, vnkynde, |
| 3:3 | cursid, with outen affeccioun, with out pees, false blameris, vncontynent, vnmylde, |
| 3:4 | with out benygnyte, traitouris, ouerthwert, bollun with proude thouytis, blynde, loueris of lustis more than of God, |
| 3:5 | hauynge the licknesse of pitee, but denyynge the vertu of it. And eschewe thou these men. |
| 3:6 | Of these thei ben that persen housis, and leden wymmen caitifs chargid with synnes, whiche ben led with dyuerse desiris, euere more lernynge, |
| 3:7 | and neuere perfitli comynge to the science of treuthe. |
| 3:8 | And as Jannes and Mambres ayenstoden Moises, so these ayenstonden treuthe, men corrupt in vndirstonding, repreuyd aboute the feith. |
| 3:9 | But ferthere thei schulen not profite, for the vnwisdom of hem schal be knowun to alle men, as hern was. |
| 3:10 | But thou hast getun my teching, ordinaunce, purposing, feith, long abiding, loue, |
| 3:11 | pacience, persecuciouns, passiouns, whiche weren maad to me at Antioche, at Ycony, at Listris, what maner persecucyouns Y suffride, and the Lord hath delyuered me of alle. |
| 3:12 | And alle men that wolen lyue feithfuli in Crist Jhesu, schulen suffre persecucioun. |
| 3:13 | But yuele men and disseyueris schulen encreese in to worse, errynge, and sendinge in to errour. |
| 3:14 | But dwelle thou in these thingis that thou hast lerud, and that ben bitakun to thee, witinge of whom thou hast lerud; |
| 3:15 | for thou hast knowun hooli lettris fro thi youthe, whiche moun lerne thee to heelthe, bi feith that is in Crist Jhesu. |
| 3:16 | For al scripture inspirid of God is profitable to teche, to repreue, to chastice, to lerne in riytwisnes, |
| 3:17 | the man of God be parfit, lerud to al good werk. |
| 3:1 | This knowe also, that in the last dayes shall come perilous times. |
| 3:2 | For men shalbe louers of their owne selues, couetous, boasters, proud, cursed speakers, disobedient to parents, vnthankefull, vnholy, |
| 3:3 | Without naturall affection, truce breakers, false accusers, intemperate, fierce, no louers at all of them which are good, |
| 3:4 | Traitours, headie, high minded, louers of pleasures more then louers of God, |
| 3:5 | Hauing a shewe of godlinesse, but haue denied the power thereof: turne away therefore from such. |
| 3:6 | For of this sort are they which creepe into houses, and leade captiue simple women laden with sinnes, and led with diuers lustes, |
| 3:7 | Which women are euer learning, and are neuer able to come to the acknowledging of the trueth. |
| 3:8 | And as Iannes and Iambres withstoode Moses, so doe these also resist the trueth, men of corrupt mindes, reprobate concerning the faith. |
| 3:9 | But they shall preuaile no longer: for their madnesse shalbe euident vnto all men, as theirs also was. |
| 3:10 | But thou hast fully knowen my doctrine, maner of liuing, purpose, faith, long suffering, loue, patience, |
| 3:11 | Persecutions, and afflictions which came vnto me at Antiochia, at Iconium, and at Lystri, which persecutions I suffered: but from them all the Lord deliuered me. |
| 3:12 | Yea, and all that will liue godly in Christ Iesus, shall suffer persecution. |
| 3:13 | But the euill men and deceiuers, shall waxe worse and worse, deceiuing, and being deceiued. |
| 3:14 | But continue thou in the thinges which thou hast learned, and which are committed vnto thee, knowing of who thou hast learned them: |
| 3:15 | And that thou hast knowen the holy Scriptures of a childe, which are able to make thee wise vnto saluation, through the faith which is in Christ Iesus. |
| 3:16 | For the whole Scripture is giuen by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teache, to conuince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousnesse, |
| 3:17 | That the man of God may be absolute, being made perfect vnto all good workes. |
| 3:1 | Also know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: |
| 3:2 | Because, men will be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, |
| 3:3 | without natural affection, covenant breakers, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of those who are good, |
| 3:4 | traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, |
| 3:5 | having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! |
| 3:6 | Because, of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, |
| 3:7 | always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. |
| 3:8 | Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; |
| 3:9 | but they will progress no further, because their folly will be manifest to all people, as theirs also was. |
| 3:10 | But you have fully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, |
| 3:11 | persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra, what persecutions I endured, but the Lord delivered me out of them all. |
| 3:12 | Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. |
| 3:13 | But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. |
| 3:14 | But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, |
| 3:15 | and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. |
| 3:16 | All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, |
| 3:17 | that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for every good work. |
