2 Timothy - Chapter: 4

>
4:1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Iesus Christ, who shall iudge the quicke and the dead at his appearing, and his kingdome:
4:2Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season, reprooue, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering & doctrine.
4:3For the time wil come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their owne lusts shall they heape to themselues teachers, hauing itching eares:
4:4And they shall turne away their eares from the trueth, and shall be turned vnto fables.
4:5But watch thou in all things, indure afflictions, doe the worke of an Euangelist, make full proofe of thy ministery.
4:6For I am now readie to bee offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
4:7I haue fought a good fight, I haue finished my course, I haue kept the faith.
4:8Hencefoorth there is layde vp for me a crowne of righteousnesse, which the Lord the righteous iudge shall giue me at that day: and not to me only, but vnto them also that loue his appearing.
4:9Doe thy diligence to come shortly vnto me:
4:10For Demas hath forsaken me, hauing loued this present world, and is departed vnto Thessalonica: Crescens to Galatia, Titus vnto Dalmatia.
4:11Onely Luke is with me. Take Marke and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministerie.
4:12And Tychicus haue I sent to Ephesus.
4:13The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou commest, bring with thee, but especially the parchments.
4:14Alexander the Coppersmith did mee much euill, the Lord reward him according to his works.
4:15Of whom bee thou ware also, for he hath greatly withstood our words.
4:16At my first answere no man stood with mee, but all men forsooke mee: I pray God that it may not bee laid to their charge.
4:17Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully knowen, and that all the Gentiles might heare: and I was deliuered out of the mouth of the Lyon.
4:18And the Lord shall deliuer mee from euery euill worke, and will preserue me vnto his heauenly kingdome to whom bee glory for euer, and euer. Amen.
4:19Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the houshold of Onesiphorus.
4:20Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus haue I left at Miletum sicke.
4:21Doe thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
4:22The Lord Iesus Christ bee with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.The second Epistle vnto Timotheus, ordeined the first Bishop of the Church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time.

 

4:1I testifye therfore before God & before the LORDE Iesu Christ, which shal come to iudge the lyuynge and the deed, at his appearynge in his kyngdome:
4:2Preach thou the worde, be feruent, be it in season or out of season: Improue, rebuke, exhorte with all longe sufferynge and doctryne.
4:3For the tyme wil come, whan they shal not suffre wholsome doctryne, but after their awne lustes shal they (whose eares ytche) get them an heape of teachers,
4:4and shal turne their eares from the trueth, and shalbe geuen vnto fables.
4:5But watch thou in all thinges, suffre aduersite, do the worke of a preacher of the Gospell, fulfyll thine office vnto the vttemost.
4:6For I am now ready to be offered, and the tyme of my departinge is at honde.
4:7I haue foughte a good fighte: I haue fulfylled the course: I haue kepte the faith.
4:8From hence forth there is layed vp for me a crowne of righteousnes, which the LORDE the righteous iudge shal geue me in yt daye: Howbeit not vnto me onely, but vnto all them that loue his comynge.
4:9Make spede to come vnto me atonce.
4:10For Demas hath lefte me, and loueth this present worlde, and is departed vnto Tessalonica, Crescens in to Galacia, Titus vnto Dalmacia,
4:11Onely Lucas is with me. Take Marke, & brynge him with the: for he is profitable vnto me to the mynistracion.
4:12Tichicus haue I sent to Ephesus.
4:13The cloke that I lefte at Troada with Carpus brynge with the whan thou commest: and the bokes, but specially the parchemet.
4:14Alexader the coppersmyth dyd me moch euell, the LORDE rewarde him acordynge to his dedes,
4:15of whom be thou ware also. For he withstode oure wordes sore.
4:16In my first answerynge no man assisted me, but all forsoke me. I praye God that it be not layed to their charges.
4:17Notwitstondynge the LORDE stode by me, & stregthed me, that by me the preachinge shulde be fulfylled to the vttemost, and that all the Heythe shulde heare. And I was delyuered out of the mouth of the lyon.
4:18And the LORDE shal delyuer me from all euell doynge, and shal kepe me vnto his heauenly kyngdome. To whom be prayse for euer and euer, Amen.
4:19Salute Prisca and Aquila, and ye houssholde of Onesiphorus.
4:20Erastus abode at Corinthum. But Trophimus left I sicke at Miletu.
4:21Make spede to come before wynter. Eubolus, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren salute the.
4:22The LORDE Iesus Christ be with thy sprete. Grace be with you, Amen.

 

4:1I witnesse bifore God and Crist Jhesu, that schal deme the quike and the deed, and bi the comyng of hym, and the kyngdom of hym,
4:2preche the word, be thou bisi couenabli with outen rest, repreue thou, biseche thou, blame thou in al pacience and doctryn.
4:3For tyme schal be, whanne men schulen not suffre hoolsum teching, but at her desiris thei schulen gadere `togidere to hem silf maistris yitchinge to the eeris.
4:4And treuli thei schulen turne awei the heryng fro treuthe, but to fablis thei schulen turne.
4:5But wake thou, in alle thingis traueile thou, do the werk of an euangelist, fulfille thi seruyce, be thou sobre.
4:6For Y am sacrifisid now, and the tyme of my departyng is nyy.
4:7Y haue stryuun a good strijf, Y haue endid the cours, Y haue kept the feith.
4:8In `the tothir tyme a coroun of riytwisnesse is kept to me, which the Lord, a iust domesman, schal yelde to me in that dai; and not oneli to me, but also to these that louen his comyng.
4:9Hyye thou to come to me soone. For Demas, louynge this world, hath forsakun me, and wente to Tessalonyk,
4:10Crescens in to Galathi, Tite in to Dalmacie;
4:11Luk aloone is with me. Take thou Mark, and brynge with thee; for he is profitable to me in to seruyce.
4:12Forsothe Y sente Titicus to Effesi.
4:13The cloth which Y lefte at Troade at Carpe, whanne thou comest, bringe with thee, and the bookis, but moost parchemyne.
4:14Alisaundre, the tresorer, schewide to me myche yuele; `the Lord schal yelde to hym aftir his werkis.
4:15Whom also thou eschewe; for he ayenstood ful greetli oure wordis.
4:16In my firste defence no man helpide me, but alle forsoken me; be it not arettid to hem.
4:17But the Lord helpide me, and coumfortide me, that the preching be fillid bi me, and that alle folkis here, that Y am delyueride fro the mouth of the lioun.
4:18And the Lord delyueride me fro al yuel werk, and schal make me saaf in to his heuenly kingdom, to whom be glorie in to worldis of worldis.
4:19Amen. Grete wel Prisca, and Aquila, and the hous of Oneseforus.
4:20Erastus lefte at Corynthi, and Y lefte Trofymus sijk at Mylete.
4:21Hiye thou to come bifore wyntir. Eubolus, and Prudent, and Lynus, and Claudia, and alle britheren, greten thee wel.
4:22Oure Lord Jhesu Crist be with thi spirit. The grace of God be with you. Amen.
