2:2that elde men be sobre, chast, prudent, hool in feith, in loue, and pacience;
2:3also olde wymmen in hooli abite, not sclaundereris, not seruynge myche to wyn, wel techynge, that thei teche prudence.
2:4Moneste thou yonge wymmen, that thei loue here hosebondis, that thei loue her children;
2:5and that thei be prudent, chast, sobre, hauynge cure of the hous, benygne, suget to her hosebondis, that the word of God be not blasfemyd.
2:6Also moneste thou yonge men, that thei be sobre.
2:7In alle thingis yyue thi silf ensaumple of good werkis, in teching, in hoolnesse, in sadnesse.
2:8An hoolsum word, and vnrepreuable; that he that is of the contrarie side, be aschamed, hauynge noon yuel thing to seie of you.
2:9Moneste thou seruauntis to be suget to her lordis; in alle thingis plesinge, not ayenseiynge, not defraudynge,
2:10but in alle thingis schewinge good feith, that thei onoure in alle thingis the doctryn of `God, oure sauyour.
2:11For the grace of `God, oure sauyour,
2:12hath apperid to alle men, and tauyte vs, that we forsake wickidnesse, and worldli desyris, lyue sobreli, and iustli, `and piteuousli in this world,
2:13abidinge the blessid hope and the comyng of the glorie of the greet God, and of oure sauyour Jhesu Crist;
2:14that yaf hym silf for vs, to ayenbie vs fro al wickidnesse, and make clene to hym silf a puple acceptable, and suere of good werkis.
2:15Speke thou these thingis, and moneste thou, and repreue thou with al comaundement; no man dispise thee.

2:1Bvt speake thou the thinges which become wholesome doctrine,
2:2That the elder men be watchful, graue, teperate, sounde in the faith, in loue, and in patience:
2:3The elder women likewise, that they be in such behauiour as becommeth holinesse, not false accusers, not subiect to much wine, but teachers of honest things,
2:4That they may instruct the yong women to be sober minded, that they loue their husbands, that they loue their children,
2:5That they be temperate, chaste, keeping at home, good and subiect vnto their husbands, that the word of God be not euill spoken of.
2:6Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded.
2:7In all things shewe thy selfe an ensample of good woorkes with vncorrupt doctrine, with grauitie, integritie,
2:8And with the wholesome woorde, which can not be condemned, that hee which withstandeth, may be ashamed, hauing nothing concerning you to speake euill of.
2:9Let seruants be subiect to their masters, and please them in al things, not answering again,
2:10Neither pickers, but that they shew al good faithfulnesse, that they may adorne the doctrine of God our Sauiour in all things.
2:11For that grace of God, that bringeth saluation vnto all men, hath appeared,
2:12And teacheth vs that we should denie vngodlinesse and worldly lusts, and that we should liue soberly and righteously, and godly in this present world,
2:13Looking for that blessed hope, and appearing of that glorie of that mightie God, and of our Sauiour Iesus Christ,
2:14Who gaue him selfe for vs, that hee might redeeme vs from all iniquitie, and purge vs to bee a peculiar people vnto himselfe, zealous of good woorkes.
2:15These things speake, and exhort, and conuince with all authoritie. See that no man despise thee.

2:1But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine:
2:2that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience;
2:3the older women likewise, that they demonstrate holiness in behavior, not slanderers, not slaves to wine bingeing, teachers of good things;
2:4that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
2:5to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
2:6Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober minded,
2:7in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing incorruptibility reverence, integrity,
2:8sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
2:9Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back,
2:10not stealing, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
2:11Because, the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
2:12teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
2:13looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God even our Savior Jesus Christ,
2:14who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
2:15Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
