Titus - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Amoneste hem to be sugetis to prynces, and to poweris; to obeische to that that is seid, and to be redi to al good werk;
3:2to blasfeme no man, to be not ful of chiding, but temperat, schewynge al myldenesse to alle men.
3:3For we weren sum tyme vnwise, vnbileueful, errynge, and seruynge to desiris, and to dyuerse lustis, doynge in malice and enuye, worthi to be hatid, hatinge ech othere.
3:4But whanne the benygnyte and the manhed of oure sauyour God aperide,
3:5not of werkis of riytwisnesse that we diden, but bi his merci he made vs saaf, bi waischyng of ayen bigetyng, and ayen newyng of the Hooli Goost,
3:6whom he schedde into vs plenteuousli bi Jhesu Crist,
3:7oure saueour, that we iustified bi his grace, ben eiris by hope of euerlastinge lijf.
3:8A trewe word is, and of these thingis Y wole that thou conferme othere, that thei that bileuen to God, be bisy to be aboue othere in good werkis. These thingis ben good, and profitable to men.
3:9And eschewe thou foltische questiouns, and genologies, and stryues, and fiytyngis of the lawe; for tho ben vnprofitable and veyn.
3:10Eschewe thou a man eretik, aftir oon and the secound correccioun;
3:11witinge that he that is siche a maner man is subuertid, and trespassith, and is dampned bi his owne dom.
3:12Whanne Y sende to thee Arteman, or Titicus, hiy thou to `come to me to Nycopolis; for Y haue purposid to dwelle in wyntir there.
3:13Bisili byfor sende Zenam, a wise man of lawe, and Apollo, that no thing faile to hem.
3:14Thei that ben of ouris, lerne to be gouernouris in good werkis, to necessarie vsis, that thei be not with out fruyt.
3:15Alle men that ben with me greeten thee wel. Grete thou wel hem, that louen vs in feith. The grace of God be with you alle. Amen.

3:1Pvt them in remembrance that they bee subiect to the Principalities and powers, and that they bee obedient, and ready to euery good woorke,
3:2That they speake euill of no man, that they be no fighters, but soft, shewing all meekenesse vnto all men.
3:3For wee our selues also were in times past vnwise, disobedient, deceiued, seruing the lustes and diuers pleasures, liuing in maliciousnes and enuie, hatefull, and hating one another:
3:4But when that bountifulnesse and that loue of God our Sauiour toward man appeared,
3:5Not by the woorkes of righteousnesse, which we had done, but according to his mercie he saued vs, by the washing of the newe birth, and the renewing of the holy Ghost,
3:6Which he shed on vs aboundantly, through Iesus Christ our Sauiour,
3:7That we, being iustified by his grace, should be made heires according to the hope of eternall life.
3:8This is a true saying, and these thinges I will thou shouldest affirme, that they which haue beleeued God, might be carefull to shewe foorth good woorkes. These things are good and profitable vnto men.
3:9But stay foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and brawlings about the Lawe: for they are vnprofitable and vaine.
3:10Reiect him that is an heretike, after once or twise admonition,
3:11Knowing that hee that is such, is peruerted, and sinneth, being damned of his owne selfe.
3:12When I shall send Artemas vnto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to mee vnto Nicopolis: for I haue determined there to winter.
3:13Bring Zenas the expounder of the Lawe, and Apollos on their iourney diligently, that they lacke nothing.
3:14And let ours also learne to shewe foorth good woorkes for necessary vses, that they be not vnfruitfull.
3:15All that are with mee, salute thee. Greete them that loue vs in the faith. Grace bee with you all, Amen.

3:1Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey magistrates, to be ready for every good work,
3:2to speak evil of no one, not quarrelsome but gentle, showing all meekness to all men.
3:3Because, we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.
3:4But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
3:5not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
3:6whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
3:7that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
3:8This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
3:9But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; because they are unprofitable and vain.
3:10A person who is a heretic reject after the first and second admonition,
3:11knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self condemned.
3:12When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
3:13Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey with care, that they may lack nothing.
3:14And let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
3:15All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
