Philemon - Chapter: 1

>
1:1Paul a prisoner of Iesus Christ, & Timothie our brother vnto Philemon our dearely beloued, and fellow labourer,
1:2And to our beloued Apphia, and Archippus our fellow Souldier, and to the Church in thy house.
1:3Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Iesus Christ.
1:4I thanke my God, making mention of thee alwayes in my prayers,
1:5Hearing of thy loue, and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Iesus, and toward all Saints:
1:6That the communication of thy faith may become effectuall by the acknowledging of euery good thing, which is in you in Christ Iesus.
1:7For wee haue great ioy and consolation in thy loue, because the bowels of the Saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
1:8Wherefore, though I might bee much bolde in Christ to enioyne thee that which is conuenient;
1:9Yet for loues sake I rather beseech thee, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Iesus Christ.
1:10I beseech thee for my sonne Onesimus, whome I haue begotten in my bonds,
1:11Which in time past was to thee vnprofitable: but now profitable to thee and to me:
1:12Whom I haue sent againe: thou therfore receiue him, that is mine owne bowels.
1:13Whome I would haue reteined with mee, that in thy stead hee might haue ministred vnto me in the bonds of the Gospel.
1:14But without thy minde would I doe nothing, that thy benefite should not bee as it were of necessitie, but willingly.
1:15For perhaps hee therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receiue him for euer:
1:16Not now as a seruant, but aboue a seruant, a brother beloued, specially to mee, but how much more vnto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
1:17If thou count mee therefore a partner, receiue him as my selfe.
1:18If hee hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account.
1:19I Paul haue written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I doe not say to thee how thou owest vnto me, euen thine owne selfe besides:
1:20Yea, brother, let mee haue ioy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowles in the Lord.
1:21Hauing confidence in thy obedience, I wrote vnto thee, knowing that thou wilt also doe more then I say.
1:22But withall prepare mee also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be giuen vnto you.
1:23There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Iesus:
1:24Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow labourers.
1:25The grace of our Lord Iesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.Written from Rome to Philemon, by Onesimus a seruant.

1:5(for so moch as I heare of thy loue and faith which thou hast on the LORDE Iesu, and towarde all sayntes)
1:6that oure comen faith maye be frutefull in the, thorow knowlege of all ye good that ye haue in Christ Iesu.
1:7Greate ioye and consolacion haue I in thy loue. For by the (brother) the sayntes are hertely refresshed.
1:8Wherfore though I haue great boldnes in Christ to commaunde the that which becommeth the,
1:9yet for loues sake I rather beseke ye, though I be as I am, eue Paul aged, and now a presoner also of Iesu Christ.
1:10I beseke the for my sonne Onesimus (whom I haue begotten in my bondes)
1:11which in tyme past was to the vnprofitable, but now profitable both to the and me.
1:12Whom I haue sent agayne: but receaue thou him (that is) euen myne awne hert.
1:13For I wolde haue kepte him styll with me, that in thy steade he might haue mynistred vnto me in ye bondes of ye Gospell:
1:14Neuertheles without thy mynde wolde I do nothinge, that ye good which thou doest, shulde not be of compulsion, but wyllingly.
1:15Happly he therfore departed for a season, that thou shuldest receaue him for euer:
1:16not now as a seruaunt, but aboue a seruaunt, euen a brother beloued, specially to me, but how moch more vnto ye, both in ye flesh and in the LORDE?
1:17Yf thou holde me for thy companyon, receaue him then euen as my selfe.
1:18But yf he haue hurte the, or oweth the oughte, that laye to my charge.
1:19I Paul haue wrytten it with myne awne hande. I wil recompence it: so that I do not saye vnto ye, how that thou owest vnto me euen thine owne selfe.
1:20Euen so brother, let me enioye the in the LORDE: refresh thou my hert in the LORDE.
1:21Trustinge in thine obediece, I haue wrytten vnto the, for I knowe that thou wilt do more then I saye.
1:22Morouer prepare me lodginge, for I hope that thorow youre prayers I shalbe geuen vnto you.

1:24Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my helpers.
1:25The grace of oure LORDE Iesu Christ be with youre sprete, Amen.

1:7And Y hadde greet ioye and coumfort in thi charite, for the entrailis of hooli men restiden bi thee, brother.
1:8For which thing Y hauynge myche trist in Crist Jhesu, to comaunde to thee that that perteyneth to profit;
1:9but Y biseche more for charite, sithen thou art siche as the elde Poul, and now the boundun of Jhesu Crist.
1:10Y biseche thee for my sone Onesyme, whom Y in boondis bigat,
1:11which sumtyme was vnprofitable to thee, but now profitable bothe to thee and to me; whom Y sente ayen to thee.
1:12And resseyue thou hym as myn entrailis;
1:13whom Y wolde withholde with me, that he schulde serue for thee to me in boondis of the gospel;
1:14but with out thi counseil Y wolde not do ony thing, that thi good schulde not be as of nede, but wilful.
1:15For perauenture therfor he departide fro thee for a tyme, that thou schuldist resseyue hym with outen ende;
1:16now not as a seruaunt, but for a seruaunt a most dere brother, most to me; and how myche more to thee, bothe in fleisch and in the Lord?
1:17Therfor if thou hast me a felowe, resseyue hym as me; for if he hath ony thing anoied thee,
