Hebrews - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Therfor, hooli britheren, and parceneris of heuenli cleping, biholde ye the apostle and the bischop of oure confessioun, Jhesu,
3:2which is trewe to hym that made hym, as also Moises in al the hous of hym.
3:3But this byschop is had worthi of more glorie than Moises, bi as myche as he hath more honour of the hous, that made the hous.
3:4For ech hous is maad of sum man; he that made alle thingis of nouyt is God.
3:5And Moises was trewe in al his hous, as a seruaunt, in to witnessyng of tho thingis that weren to be seid;
3:6but Crist as a sone in his hous. Which hous we ben, if we holden sad trist and glorie of hope in to the ende.
3:7Wherfor as the Hooli Goost seith, To dai, if ye han herd his vois, nyle ye hardne youre hertis,
3:8as in wraththing, lijk the dai of temptacioun in desert;
3:9where youre fadris temptiden me, and preueden, and siyen my werkis fourti yeeris.
3:10Wherfor Y was wrooth to this generacioun, and Y seide, Euere more thei erren in herte, for thei knewen not my weies;
3:11to whiche Y swore in my wraththe, thei schulen not entre in to my reste.
3:12Britheren, se ye, lest perauenture in ony of you be an yuel herte of vnbileue, to departe fro the lyuynge God.
3:13But moneste you silf bi alle daies, the while to dai is named, that noon of you be hardned bi fallas of synne.
3:14For we ben maad parceneris of Crist, if netheles we holden the bigynnyng of his substaunce sad in to the ende.
3:15While it is seid, to dai, if ye han herd the vois of hym, nyle ye hardne youre hertis, as in that wraththing.
3:16For summen heringe wraththiden, but not alle thei that wenten out of Egipt bi Moises.
3:17But to whiche was he wraththid fourti yeeris? Whether not to hem that synneden, whos careyns weren cast doun in desert?
3:18And to whiche swoor he, that thei schulden not entre in to the reste of hym, not but to hem that weren vnbileueful?
3:19And we seen, that thei myyten not entre in to the reste of hym for vnbileue.

3:1Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heauenly vocation, consider the Apostle and high Priest of our profession Christ Iesus:
3:2Who was faithfull to him that hath appointed him, euen as Moses was in al his house.
3:3For this man is counted worthy of more glory then Moses, inasmuch as he which hath builded the house, hath more honour then the house.
3:4For euery house is builded of some man, and he that hath built all things, is God.
3:5Now Moses verely was faithfull in all his house, as a seruant, for a witnesse of the thinges which should be spoken after.
3:6But Christ is as the Sonne, ouer his owne house, whose house we are, if we holde fast that confidence and that reioycing of that hope vnto the ende.
3:7Wherefore, as the holy Ghost sayth, To day if ye shall heare his voyce,
3:8Harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation, according to the day of the tentation in the wildernes,
3:9Where your fathers tempted me, prooued me, and sawe my workes fourtie yeeres long.
3:10Wherefore I was grieued with that generation, and sayde, They erre euer in their heart, neither haue they knowen my wayes.
3:11Therefore I sware in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest.
3:12Take heede, brethren, least at any time there be in any of you an euill heart, and vnfaithfull, to depart away from the liuing God.
3:13But exhort one another dayly, while it is called to day, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulnes of sinne.
3:14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we keepe sure vnto the ende that beginning, wherewith we are vpholden,
3:15So long as it is sayd, To day if ye heare his voyce, harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation.
3:16For some when they heard, prouoked him to anger: howbeit, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
3:17But with whome was he displeased fourtie yeeres? Was hee not displeased with them that sinned, whose carkeises fell in the wildernes?
3:18And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but vnto them that obeyed not?
3:19So we see that they could not enter in, because of vnbeliefe.

3:1Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,
3:2who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.
3:3Because, this Man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house.
3:4Because every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
3:5And truly Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward,
3:6but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold firmly to the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firmly to the end.
3:7Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice,
3:8do not harden your hearts as in the provocation, in the day of trial in the wilderness,
3:9where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, and saw My works forty years.
3:10Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, 'They always deceive in their heart, and they have not known My ways.'
3:11So I swore in My wrath, 'They will not enter into My rest.'"
3:12Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;
3:13but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
3:14Because, we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence firmly to the end,
3:15while it is said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the provocation."
3:16Because some, having heard, did provoke. However not all who came out of Egypt by Moses.
3:17Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
3:18And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not believe?
3:19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
