Hebrews - Chapter: 6

>
6:1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
6:2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
6:3And this will we do, if God permit.
6:4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
6:5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6:6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
6:7For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
6:8But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
6:9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
6:10For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
6:11And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
6:12That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
6:13For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
6:14Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
6:15And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
6:16For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
6:17Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
6:18That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
6:19Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
6:20Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

6:1Wherfore let vs leave ye doctryne pertayninge to the beginninge of a Christen man and let vs go vnto perfeccio and now no more laye the foundacio of repentaunce from deed workes and of fayth towarde God
6:2of baptyme of doctryne and of layinge on of hondes and of resurreccion from deeth and of eternall iudgemet.
6:3And so will we do yf God permitte.
6:4For it is not possible yt they which were once lyghted and have tasted of the hevenly gyft and were become partetakers of the holy goost
6:5and have tasted of the good worde of God and of the power of the worlde to come:
6:6yf they faule shuld be renued agayne vnto repentaunce: for as moche as they have (as concerninge them selves) crucified the sonne of God a fresshe makynge a mocke of him.
6:7For that erth which drinketh in the rayne wich cometh ofte vpon it and bringeth forth erbes mete for them that dresse it receaveth blessynge of god.
6:8But that grounde which beareth thornes and bryars is reproved and is nye vnto cursynge: whose ende is to be burned.
6:9Neverthelesse deare frendes we trust to se better of you and thynges which accompany saluacion though we thus speake.
6:10For god is not vnrighteous that he shuld forget youre worke and laboure that procedeth of love which love shewed in his name which have ministred vnto the saynctes and yet minister
6:11Yee and we desyre that every one of you shew the same diligence to the stablysshynge of hope even vnto the ende:
6:12that ye faynt not but folowe them which thorow fayth and pacience inheret the promyses.
6:13For when god made promes to Abraham because he had no greater thinge to sweare by he sware by him silfe
6:14sayinge: Surely I will blesse the and multiply the in dede.
6:15And so after that he had taryed a longe tyme he enioyed the promes.
6:16Men verely sweare by him that is greater then them selves and an othe to confyrme the thynge ys amonge them an ende of all stryfe.
6:17So god willynge very aboundanly to shewe vnto the heyres of promes the stablenes of his counsayle he added an othe
6:18that by two immutable thinges (in which it was vnpossible that god shuld lye) we myght have parfect consolacion which have fled for to holde fast the hope that is set before vs
6:19which hope we have as an ancre of the soule both sure and stedfast. Which hope also entreth in into tho thynges which are with in the vayle
6:20whither ye fore runner is for vs entred in I mea Iesus that is made an hye prest for ever after the order of Melchisedech.
