5:1Go to nowe ye ryche men. Weepe, and howle on your wretchednes that shal come vpon you.
5:2Youre ryches is corrupte youre garmentes are motheaten.
5:3Your gold and your siluer are cankered, & the ruste of them shal be a witnes vnto you, and shall eate your fleshe, as it were fyre. Ye haue heaped treasure together in your laste dayes:
5:4Beholde the hyre of the labourers which haue reped doun your fieldes (which hyer is of you kept backe by fraude) crieth: & the cryes of them whiche haue reped, are entred into the eares of the Lorde Sabaoth
5:5Ye haue lyued in pleasure on the earth, & in wantonnes. Ye haue norished your hertes, as in a day of slaughter
5:6Ye haue condempned, & haue kylled the iuste, & he hath not resisted you.
5:7Be ye pacyente therfore brethren, vnto the commynge of the Lord. Behold the husbande man wayghteth for the precious frute of the earth & hath long pacience therevpon, vntyll he receyue (the early and the latter rayne.)
5:8Be ye also pacyent therfor, and setle your hertes, for the commynge of the Lorde draweth nye.
5:9Grudge not one agaynst another brethren lest ye be damned. Beholde the iudge standeth before the dore.
5:10Take (my brethren) the Prophetes for an ensample of sufferyng aduersitye, & of longe pacience, whiche spake in the name of the Lorde.
5:11Beholde we count them happye whiche endure. Ye haue hearde of the pacience of Iob, & haue knowen what ende the Lorde made. For the Lorde is verye pytyfull and mercyfull.
5:12But about al thinges my brethren, sweare not, neyther by heauen, neyther by earth, neyther by anye other othe. Let your yea be yea and youre naye, naye: leaste ye falle into hypocrysye.
5:13Yf any of you be euyll vexed, let hym praye. Yf anye of you be merye, let hym singe Psalmes.
5:14Yf anye be deseased amonge you, let hym call for the elders of the congregacyon, and let them praye ouer him, and annoynte hym wyt oyle in the name of the Lord
5:15and the prayer of fayth shall saue the sicke, & the Lorde shall rayse hym vp: and yf he haue commytted synnes, they shalbe forgeuen him.
5:16Knoweledge youre fautes one to another; and praye one for another, that ye maye be healed. The prayer of a ryghtuous man auayleth muche yf it be feruente.
5:17Helias was a man mortall, euen as we are, and he prayed in hys prayer, that it might not rayne: and it rayned not on the earth by the space of thre yeares & sixe monethes.
5:18And he prayed againe, and the heauen gaue rayne, and the earthe broughte forth her frute.
5:19Brethren yf anye of you erre from the trueth and an other conuerte hym,
5:20let the same know that he which conuerted the synner from goyng astraye out of hys waye, shall saue a soule from death, and shall hyde the multytude of synnes.

5:2Your riches are corrupt, and your garments are moth eaten.
5:3Your gold and siluer is cankred, and the rust of them shalbe a witnesse against you, and shall eate your flesh, as it were fire. Ye haue heaped vp treasure for the last dayes.
5:4Behold, the hire of ye labourers, which haue reaped your fieldes (which is of you kept backe by fraude) cryeth, and the cryes of them which haue reaped, are entred into the eares of the Lord of hostes.
5:5Ye haue liued in pleasure on the earth, and in wantonnes. Ye haue nourished your heartes, as in a day of slaughter.
5:6Ye haue condemned and haue killed the iust, and he hath not resisted you.
5:7Be patient therefore, brethren, vnto the comming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman wayteth for the precious fruite of the earth, and hath long patience for it, vntill he receiue the former, and the latter rayne.
5:8Be ye also patient therefore and settle your hearts: for ye comming of the Lord draweth neere.
5:9Grudge not one against another, brethren, least ye be condemned: behold, the iudge standeth before the doore.
5:10Take, my brethren, the Prophets for an ensample of suffering aduersitie, and of long patience, which haue spoken in the Name of the Lord.
5:11Beholde, we count them blessed which endure. Ye haue heard of the patience of Iob, and haue knowen what ende the Lord made. For the Lord is very pitifull and mercifull.
5:12But before all thinges, my brethren, sweare not, neither by heauen, nor by earth, nor by any other othe: but let your yea, be yea, and your nay, nay, lest ye fall into condemnation.
5:13Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merie? Let him sing.
5:14Is any sicke among you? Let him call for the Elders of the Church, and let them pray for him, and anoynt him with oyle in the Name of the Lord.
5:15And the prayer of faith shall saue the sicke, and the Lord shall raise him vp: and if he haue committed sinnes, they shalbe forgiuen him.
5:16Acknowledge your faultes one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed: for the prayer of a righteous man auaileth much, if it be feruent.
5:17Helias was a man subiect to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rayne, and it rayned not on the earth for three yeeres and sixe moneths.
5:18And he prayed againe, and the heauen gaue rayne, and the earth brought forth her fruite.
5:19Brethren, if any of you hath erred from the trueth, and some man hath conuerted him,
5:20Let him know that he which hath conuerted the sinner from going astray out of his way, shall saue a soule from death, and shall hide a multitude of sinnes.

5:10Take, my brethren, the Prophets, who haue spoken in the Name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
5:11Beholde, wee count them happie which endure. Ye haue heard of the patience of Iob, and haue seene the end of the Lord: that the Lord is very pitifull and of tender mercie.
5:12But aboue all things, my brethren, sweare not, neither by heauen, neither by the earth, neither by any other othe: but let your yea, be yea, and your nay, nay: lest yee fall into condemnation.
5:13Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing Psalmes.
5:14Is any sicke among you? let him call for the Elders of the Church, and let them pray ouer him, anointing him with oyle in the Name of the Lord:
5:15And the prayer of Faith shall saue the sicke, and the Lord shall raise him vp: and if hee haue committed sinnes, they shall be forgiuen him.
5:16Confesse your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that yee may bee healed: the effectuall feruent prayer of a righteous man auaileth much.
5:17Elias was a man subiect to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not raine: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three yeeres and sixe monethes.
5:18And hee prayed againe, and the heauen gaue raine, and the earth brought foorth her fruit.
5:19Brethren, if any of you doe erre from the trueth, and one conuert him,
5:20Let him know, that hee which conuerteth the sinner from the errour of his way, shall saue a soule from death, and shall hide a multitude of sinnes.
