| 2:1 | My little children, these things write I vnto you, that ye sinne not. And if any man sinne, we haue an Aduocate with the Father, Iesus Christ the righteous: |
| 2:2 | And he is the propitiation for our sinnes: and not for ours onely, but also for the sinnes of the whole world. |
| 2:3 | And hereby wee doe knowe that we know him, if we keepe his commandements. |
| 2:4 | He that saith, I knowe him, and keepeth not his commandements, is a lyer, and the trueth is not in him. |
| 2:5 | But who so keepeth his word, in him verely is the loue of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. |
| 2:6 | He that sayeth he abideth in him, ought himselfe also so to walke, euen as he walked. |
| 2:7 | Brethren, I write no new commandement vnto you, but an olde commandement which ye had from the beginning: the old commandement is the word which ye haue heard from the beginning. |
| 2:8 | Againe, a new commandement I write vnto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkenesse is past, and the true light now shineth. |
| 2:9 | He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenesse euen vntill now. |
| 2:10 | Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. |
| 2:11 | But he that hateth his brother, is in darknesse, and walketh in darknesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darknesse hath blinded his eyes. |
| 2:12 | I write vnto you, little children, because your sinnes are forgiuen you for his Names sake. |
| 2:13 | I write vnto you, fathers, because yee haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I write vnto you, young men, because you haue ouercome the wicked one. I write vnto you, little children, because yee haue knowen the Father. |
| 2:14 | I haue written vnto you, fathers, because ye haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I haue written vnto you, young men, because yee are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and yee haue ouercome the wicked one. |
| 2:15 | Loue not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loue the world, the loue of the Father is not in him. |
| 2:16 | For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. |
| 2:17 | And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but hee that doeth the will of God, abideth for euer. |
| 2:18 | Little children, it is the last time: and as yee haue heard that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many Antichrists, whereby wee know that it is the last time. |
| 2:19 | They went out from vs, but they were not of vs: for if they had beene of vs, they would no doubt haue continued with vs: but they went out that they might be made manifest, that they were not all of vs. |
| 2:20 | But ye haue an vnction from the holy One, and ye know all things. |
| 2:21 | I haue not written vnto you, because yee know not the trueth: but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the trueth. |
| 2:22 | Who is a lier, but hee that denieth that Iesus is the Christ? hee is Antichrist, that denyeth the Father, and the Sonne. |
| 2:23 | Whosoeuer denieth the Sonne, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Sonne, hath the Father also. |
| 2:24 | Let that therefore abide in you which yee haue heard from the beginning: if that which ye haue heard from the beginning shall remaine in you, yee also shall continue in the Sonne, and in the Father. |
| 2:25 | And this is the promise that hee hath promised vs, euen eternall life. |
| 2:26 | These things haue I written vnto you, concerning them that seduce you. |
| 2:27 | But the anointing which ye haue receiued of him, abideth in you: and yee need not that any man teach you: But, as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is trueth, and is no lye: and euen as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. |
| 2:28 | And now, little children, abide in him, that when hee shall appeare, wee may haue confidence, and not bee ashamed before him at his comming. |
| 2:29 | If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that euery one which doeth righteousnesse, is borne of him. |
| 2:1 | My litle children, these thinges wryte I vnto you, that ye shulde not synne: and yf eny man synne, we haue an aduocate with the father, euen Iesus Christ which is righteous: |
| 2:2 | and he it is that optayneth grace for oure synnes: not for oure synnes onely, but also for the synnes of all the worlde. |
| 2:3 | And hereby are we sure that we knowe him, yf we kepe his comaundemetes. |
| 2:4 | He that sayeth: I knowe him, and kepeth not his comaundemetes, is a lyar, and the trueth is not in him, |
| 2:5 | But who so kepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfecte in dede. Hereby knowe we, that we are in him. |
| 2:6 | He yt sayeth he abydeth in him, oughte to walke euen as he walked. |
| 2:7 | Brethren, I wryte no new commaundement vnto you, but that olde commaundement, which ye haue herde from the begynnynge. |
| 2:8 | The olde comaundement is the worde, which ye haue herde from the begynnynge. Agayne, a new comaundemet wryte I vnto you, a thinge that is true in him & also in you: for the darknesse is past, and the true lighte now shyneth. |
| 2:9 | He that sayeth he is in lighte, and hateth his brother, is yet in darknesse. |
| 2:10 | He yt loueth his brother, abydeth in the lighte, and there is none occasion of euell in him. |
| 2:11 | But he yt hateth his brother, is in darknes, and walketh in darknes, and can not tell whither he goeth, for ye darknes hath blynded his eyes. |
| 2:12 | Babes, I wryte vnto you, that yor synnes are forgeuen you for his names sake. |
| 2:13 | I wryte vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him which is from ye begynnynge. I wryte vnto you yonge me, how that ye haue euercome the wicked. I wryte vnto you litle children, how that ye haue knowne the father. |
| 2:14 | I haue wrytten vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him, which is fro the begynnynge. I haue wrytten vnto you yonge men, how that ye are stronge, and the worde of God abydeth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wicked. |
| 2:15 | Se that ye loue not the worlde, nether ye thinges that are in the worlde. Yf eny man loue the worlde, the loue of the father is not in him: |
| 2:16 | for all that is in the worlde (namely the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pryde of life) is not of the father, but of the worlde. |
| 2:17 | And the worlde passeth awaye and the lust therof. But he that fulfylleth the wyll of God, abydeth for euer. |
| 2:18 | Litle children, it is the last houre, and (as ye haue herde that Antechrist shal come) euen now are there many become Antechristes allready: wherby we knowe, that it is ye last houre. |
| 2:19 | They wente out fro vs, but they were not of vs: for yf they had bene of vs, they wolde no doute haue contynued with vs. But that they maye be knowne, how that they are not all of vs. |
| 2:20 | But ye haue the anoyntinge of him yt is holy, & ye knowe all thiges. |
| 2:21 | I haue not wrytte vnto you, as though ye knewe not ye trueth but ye knowe it, & are sure, yt no lye cometh of ye trueth. |
| 2:22 | Who is a lyar, but he yt denyeth yt Iesus is Christ? The same is ye Antichrist, yt denyeth the father & ye sonne. |
| 2:23 | Whosoeuer denyeth the sonne, the same hath not the father. |
| 2:24 | Loke what ye haue herde now from ye begynnynge, let the same abyde in you. Yf yt which he herde from the begynnynge shal remayne in you, then shal ye also abyde in ye sonne and in the father. |
| 2:25 | And this is the promes yt he hath promysed vs, eue eternall life. |
| 2:26 | This haue I wrytte vnto you cocerninge the that disceaue you. |
| 2:27 | And the anoyntinge which ye haue receaued of him, dwelleth in you: & ye nede not yt eny ma teach you, but as the anoyntinge teacheth you all thiges, euen so is it true, & is no lye. And as it hath taughte you, eue so abide ye therin. |
| 2:28 | And now babes, abyde in hi, yt wha he shal appeare, we maye be bolde, & not be made ashamed of him at his commynge. |
| 2:29 | Yf ye knowe yt he is righteous, knowe also that he which doth righteousnes, is borne of him. |
| 2:1 | Mi litle sones, Y write to you these thingis, that ye synnen not. But if ony man synneth, we han an aduocat anentis the fadir, |
| 2:2 | Jhesu Crist, and he is the foryyuenes for oure synnes; and not oneli for oure synnes, but also for the synnes of al the world. |
| 2:3 | And in this thing we witen, that we knowen hym, if we kepen hise comaundementis. |
| 2:4 | He that seith that he knowith God, and kepith not hise comaundementis, is a liere, and trewthe is not in hym. |
| 2:5 | But the charite of God is perfit verili in hym, that kepith his word. In this thing we witen, that we ben in hym, if we ben perfit in hym. |
| 2:6 | He that seith, that he dwellith in hym, he owith for to walke, as he walkide. |
| 2:7 | Moost dere britheren, Y write to you, not a newe maundement, but the elde maundement, that ye hadden fro the bigynnyng. The elde maundement is the word, that ye herden. |
| 2:8 | Eftsoone Y write to you a newe maundement, that is trewe bothe in hym and in you; for derknessis ben passid, and veri liyt schyneth now. |
| 2:9 | He that seith, that he is in liyt, and hatith his brother, is in derknesse yit. |
| 2:10 | He that loueth his brothir, dwellith in liyt, and sclaundre is not in hym. |
| 2:11 | But he that hatith his brother, is in derknessis, and wandrith in derknessis, and woot not whidir he goith; for derknessis han blindid hise iyen. |
| 2:12 | Litle sones, Y write to you, that youre synnes ben foryouun to you for his name. |
| 2:13 | Fadris, Y write to you, for ye han knowun hym, that is fro the bigynnyng. Yonge men, Y write to you, for ye han ouercomun the wickid. |
| 2:14 | Y write to you, yonge children, for ye han knowe the fadir. Y write to you, britheren, for ye han knowen hym, that is fro the bigynnyng. Y write to you, yonge men, for ye ben stronge, and the word of God dwellith in you, and ye han ouercomun the wickid. |
| 2:15 | Nyle ye loue the world, ne tho thingis that ben in the world. If ony man loueth the world, the charite of the fader is not in hym. |
| 2:16 | For al thing that is in the world, is coueitise of fleisch, and coueitise of iyen, and pride of lijf, which is not of the fadir, but it is of the world. |
| 2:17 | And the world schal passe, and the coueitise of it; but he that doith the wille of God, dwellith with outen ende. |
| 2:18 | My litle sones, the laste our is; and as ye han herd, that antecrist cometh, now many antecristis ben maad; wherfor we witen, that it is the laste our. |
| 2:19 | Thei wenten forth fro vs, but thei weren not of vs; for if thei hadden be of vs, thei hadden dwelte with vs; but that thei be knowun, that thei ben not of vs. |
| 2:20 | But ye han anointyng of the Hooli Goost, and knowen alle thingis. |
| 2:21 | Y wroot not to you, as to men that knowen not treuthe, but as to men that knowen it, and for ech leesing is not of treuthe. |
| 2:22 | Who is a liere, but this that denyeth that Jhesu is not Crist? This is antecrist, that denyeth the fadir, and the sone. |
| 2:23 | So ech that denyeth the sone, hath not the fadir; but he that knowlechith the sone, hath also the fadir. |
| 2:24 | That thing that ye herden at the bigynnyng, dwelle it in you; for if that thing dwellith in you, which ye herden at the bigynnyng, ye schulen dwelle in the sone and in the fadir. |
| 2:25 | And this is the biheeste, that he bihiyte to vs euerlastinge lijf. |
| 2:26 | Y wroot these thingis to you, of hem that disseyuen you, |
| 2:27 | and that the anoyntyng which ye resseyueden of hym, dwelle in you. And ye han not nede, that ony man teche you, but as his anoyntyng techith you of alle thingis, and it is trewe, and it is not leesyng; and as he tauyte you, dwelle ye in hym. |
| 2:28 | And now, ye litle sones, dwelle ye in hym, that whanne he schal appere, we haue a trist, and be not confoundid of hym in his comyng. |
| 2:29 | If ye witen that he is iust, wite ye that also ech that doith riytwisnesse, is borun of hym. |
