1 John - Chapter: 2

>
2:1My lytell chyldren, these thinges write I vnto you, that ye synne not. And yf eny man synne, we haue an aduocate wyth the father, Iesus christ, the ryghteous:
2:2& he it is that obtayneth grace for oure synnes, not for oure synnes onely: but also for the synnes of all the worlde.
2:3And herby we are sure that we knowe hym, yf we kepe hys commaundementes.
2:4He that sayth I knowe hym, and kepeth not hys commaundementes is a lyar, and the veritye is not in hym.
2:5But whoso kepeth hys worde, in hym is the loue of God perfect in dede: herby knowe we that we are in him.
2:6He that sayth he bydeth in hym, ought to walke euen as he walked.
2:7Brethren, I wryte no newe commaundement vnto you: but that olde commaundement, which ye haue had from the beginnynge.
2:8The olde commaundement is the worde, which ye haue hearde from the beginninge. Agayne, a new commaundement I wryte vnto you, that is true in him, and the same is true also in you: for the dercknes is past, and the true lyght now shyneth.
2:9He that sayth how that he is in the lyght, & yet hateth his brother, is in dercknes euen vntyll thys tyme.
2:10He that loueth his brother, abydeth in the lyght, and ther is none occasion of euyll in hym.
2:11He that hateth his brother, is in dercknes, & walketh in dercknes: and can not tell whyther he goeth, because that dercknes hath blynded hys eyes.
2:12Babes I wryte vnto you, how that youre synnes are forgeuen you for his names sake.
2:13I wryte vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him that is from the beginnynge. I wryte vnto you yonge men, how that ye haue ouercome the wicked: I write vnto you lytell chyldren, how that ye haue knowen the father.
2:14I haue wryten vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne hym that is from the beginnynge. I haue wryten vnto you yonge men, how that ye are stronge, and the worde of God abydeth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wycked.
2:15Se that ye loue not the worlde, nether the thynges that are in the worlde. If eny man loue the worlde, the loue of the father is not in hym.
2:16For all that is in the worlde (as the lust of the flesshe, and the lust of the eyes, & the pryde of life) is not of the father, but of the worlde.
2:17And the worlde passeth awaye and the lust therof: but he that fulfylleth the will of God, abydeth for euer.
2:18Lytell chyldren, it is the last tyme, and as ye haue herde how that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many begonne to be Antichristes allredy, wherby we knowe, that it is the last tyme.
2:19They went out from vs, but they were not of vs. For yf they had bene of vs, they wolde no dout haue continued with vs. But that it myght appeare, that they were not of vs.
2:20Neuerthelesse, ye haue an oyntment of him that is holy, and ye knowe all thinges.
2:21I haue not writen vnto you, as though ye knewe not the trueth: but as though ye knewe it (& knowe also) that no lye commeth of trueth.
2:22Who is a lyar, but he that denyeth that Iesus is Christ? the same is Antichrist, that denieth the father & the sonne.
2:23Whosoeuer denyeth the sonne, the same hath not the father.
2:24Let therfore abyde in you that same which ye hearde from the beginninge. If that which ye hearde from the beginnynge shal remayne in you, ye also shall contynew in the sonne, and in the father.
2:25And thys is the promes that he hath promysed vs, euen eternall lyfe.
2:26These thinges haue I writen vnto you, concernynge them that disceaue you.
2:27And the anoyntinge which ye haue receaued of him dwelleth in you. And ye nede not, that eny man teach you: but as the anoyntinge teacheth you of all thinges, and is true, and no lye, and as it hath taught you, euen so byde therin.
2:28And now babes abyde in hym: that when he shall appeare, we maye be bolde, & not be made ashamed of hym at hys commynge.
2:29If ye knowe that he his righteous, knowe also that euery one which doth rightewesnes, is borne of hym.

2:1Mi litle sones, Y write to you these thingis, that ye synnen not. But if ony man synneth, we han an aduocat anentis the fadir,
2:2Jhesu Crist, and he is the foryyuenes for oure synnes; and not oneli for oure synnes, but also for the synnes of al the world.
2:3And in this thing we witen, that we knowen hym, if we kepen hise comaundementis.
2:4He that seith that he knowith God, and kepith not hise comaundementis, is a liere, and trewthe is not in hym.
2:5But the charite of God is perfit verili in hym, that kepith his word. In this thing we witen, that we ben in hym, if we ben perfit in hym.
2:6He that seith, that he dwellith in hym, he owith for to walke, as he walkide.
2:7Moost dere britheren, Y write to you, not a newe maundement, but the elde maundement, that ye hadden fro the bigynnyng. The elde maundement is the word, that ye herden.
2:8Eftsoone Y write to you a newe maundement, that is trewe bothe in hym and in you; for derknessis ben passid, and veri liyt schyneth now.
2:9He that seith, that he is in liyt, and hatith his brother, is in derknesse yit.
2:10He that loueth his brothir, dwellith in liyt, and sclaundre is not in hym.
2:11But he that hatith his brother, is in derknessis, and wandrith in derknessis, and woot not whidir he goith; for derknessis han blindid hise iyen.
2:12Litle sones, Y write to you, that youre synnes ben foryouun to you for his name.
2:13Fadris, Y write to you, for ye han knowun hym, that is fro the bigynnyng. Yonge men, Y write to you, for ye han ouercomun the wickid.
2:14Y write to you, yonge children, for ye han knowe the fadir. Y write to you, britheren, for ye han knowen hym, that is fro the bigynnyng. Y write to you, yonge men, for ye ben stronge, and the word of God dwellith in you, and ye han ouercomun the wickid.
2:15Nyle ye loue the world, ne tho thingis that ben in the world. If ony man loueth the world, the charite of the fader is not in hym.
2:16For al thing that is in the world, is coueitise of fleisch, and coueitise of iyen, and pride of lijf, which is not of the fadir, but it is of the world.
2:17And the world schal passe, and the coueitise of it; but he that doith the wille of God, dwellith with outen ende.
2:18My litle sones, the laste our is; and as ye han herd, that antecrist cometh, now many antecristis ben maad; wherfor we witen, that it is the laste our.
2:19Thei wenten forth fro vs, but thei weren not of vs; for if thei hadden be of vs, thei hadden dwelte with vs; but that thei be knowun, that thei ben not of vs.
2:20But ye han anointyng of the Hooli Goost, and knowen alle thingis.
2:21Y wroot not to you, as to men that knowen not treuthe, but as to men that knowen it, and for ech leesing is not of treuthe.
2:22Who is a liere, but this that denyeth that Jhesu is not Crist? This is antecrist, that denyeth the fadir, and the sone.
2:23So ech that denyeth the sone, hath not the fadir; but he that knowlechith the sone, hath also the fadir.
2:24That thing that ye herden at the bigynnyng, dwelle it in you; for if that thing dwellith in you, which ye herden at the bigynnyng, ye schulen dwelle in the sone and in the fadir.
2:25And this is the biheeste, that he bihiyte to vs euerlastinge lijf.
2:26Y wroot these thingis to you, of hem that disseyuen you,
2:27and that the anoyntyng which ye resseyueden of hym, dwelle in you. And ye han not nede, that ony man teche you, but as his anoyntyng techith you of alle thingis, and it is trewe, and it is not leesyng; and as he tauyte you, dwelle ye in hym.
2:28And now, ye litle sones, dwelle ye in hym, that whanne he schal appere, we haue a trist, and be not confoundid of hym in his comyng.
2:29If ye witen that he is iust, wite ye that also ech that doith riytwisnesse, is borun of hym.

2:1My litle children, these thinges wryte I vnto you, that ye shulde not synne: and yf eny man synne, we haue an aduocate with the father, euen Iesus Christ which is righteous:
2:2and he it is that optayneth grace for oure synnes: not for oure synnes onely, but also for the synnes of all the worlde.
2:3And hereby are we sure that we knowe him, yf we kepe his comaundemetes.
2:4He that sayeth: I knowe him, and kepeth not his comaundemetes, is a lyar, and the trueth is not in him,
2:5But who so kepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfecte in dede. Hereby knowe we, that we are in him.
2:6He yt sayeth he abydeth in him, oughte to walke euen as he walked.
2:7Brethren, I wryte no new commaundement vnto you, but that olde commaundement, which ye haue herde from the begynnynge.
2:8The olde comaundement is the worde, which ye haue herde from the begynnynge. Agayne, a new comaundemet wryte I vnto you, a thinge that is true in him & also in you: for the darknesse is past, and the true lighte now shyneth.
2:9He that sayeth he is in lighte, and hateth his brother, is yet in darknesse.
2:10He yt loueth his brother, abydeth in the lighte, and there is none occasion of euell in him.
2:11But he yt hateth his brother, is in darknes, and walketh in darknes, and can not tell whither he goeth, for ye darknes hath blynded his eyes.
2:12Babes, I wryte vnto you, that yor synnes are forgeuen you for his names sake.
2:13I wryte vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him which is from ye begynnynge. I wryte vnto you yonge me, how that ye haue euercome the wicked. I wryte vnto you litle children, how that ye haue knowne the father.
2:14I haue wrytten vnto you fathers, how that ye haue knowne him, which is fro the begynnynge. I haue wrytten vnto you yonge men, how that ye are stronge, and the worde of God abydeth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wicked.
2:15Se that ye loue not the worlde, nether ye thinges that are in the worlde. Yf eny man loue the worlde, the loue of the father is not in him:
2:16for all that is in the worlde (namely the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pryde of life) is not of the father, but of the worlde.
2:17And the worlde passeth awaye and the lust therof. But he that fulfylleth the wyll of God, abydeth for euer.
2:18Litle children, it is the last houre, and (as ye haue herde that Antechrist shal come) euen now are there many become Antechristes allready: wherby we knowe, that it is ye last houre.
2:19They wente out fro vs, but they were not of vs: for yf they had bene of vs, they wolde no doute haue contynued with vs. But that they maye be knowne, how that they are not all of vs.
2:20But ye haue the anoyntinge of him yt is holy, & ye knowe all thiges.
2:21I haue not wrytte vnto you, as though ye knewe not ye trueth but ye knowe it, & are sure, yt no lye cometh of ye trueth.
2:22Who is a lyar, but he yt denyeth yt Iesus is Christ? The same is ye Antichrist, yt denyeth the father & ye sonne.
2:23Whosoeuer denyeth the sonne, the same hath not the father.
2:24Loke what ye haue herde now from ye begynnynge, let the same abyde in you. Yf yt which he herde from the begynnynge shal remayne in you, then shal ye also abyde in ye sonne and in the father.
2:25And this is the promes yt he hath promysed vs, eue eternall life.
2:26This haue I wrytte vnto you cocerninge the that disceaue you.
2:27And the anoyntinge which ye haue receaued of him, dwelleth in you: & ye nede not yt eny ma teach you, but as the anoyntinge teacheth you all thiges, euen so is it true, & is no lye. And as it hath taughte you, eue so abide ye therin.
2:28And now babes, abyde in hi, yt wha he shal appeare, we maye be bolde, & not be made ashamed of him at his commynge.
2:29Yf ye knowe yt he is righteous, knowe also that he which doth righteousnes, is borne of him.
