1 John - Chapter: 2

>
2:1Mi litle sones, Y write to you these thingis, that ye synnen not. But if ony man synneth, we han an aduocat anentis the fadir,
2:2Jhesu Crist, and he is the foryyuenes for oure synnes; and not oneli for oure synnes, but also for the synnes of al the world.
2:3And in this thing we witen, that we knowen hym, if we kepen hise comaundementis.
2:4He that seith that he knowith God, and kepith not hise comaundementis, is a liere, and trewthe is not in hym.
2:5But the charite of God is perfit verili in hym, that kepith his word. In this thing we witen, that we ben in hym, if we ben perfit in hym.
2:6He that seith, that he dwellith in hym, he owith for to walke, as he walkide.
2:7Moost dere britheren, Y write to you, not a newe maundement, but the elde maundement, that ye hadden fro the bigynnyng. The elde maundement is the word, that ye herden.
2:8Eftsoone Y write to you a newe maundement, that is trewe bothe in hym and in you; for derknessis ben passid, and veri liyt schyneth now.
2:9He that seith, that he is in liyt, and hatith his brother, is in derknesse yit.
2:10He that loueth his brothir, dwellith in liyt, and sclaundre is not in hym.
2:11But he that hatith his brother, is in derknessis, and wandrith in derknessis, and woot not whidir he goith; for derknessis han blindid hise iyen.
2:12Litle sones, Y write to you, that youre synnes ben foryouun to you for his name.
2:13Fadris, Y write to you, for ye han knowun hym, that is fro the bigynnyng. Yonge men, Y write to you, for ye han ouercomun the wickid.
2:14Y write to you, yonge children, for ye han knowe the fadir. Y write to you, britheren, for ye han knowen hym, that is fro the bigynnyng. Y write to you, yonge men, for ye ben stronge, and the word of God dwellith in you, and ye han ouercomun the wickid.
2:15Nyle ye loue the world, ne tho thingis that ben in the world. If ony man loueth the world, the charite of the fader is not in hym.
2:16For al thing that is in the world, is coueitise of fleisch, and coueitise of iyen, and pride of lijf, which is not of the fadir, but it is of the world.
2:17And the world schal passe, and the coueitise of it; but he that doith the wille of God, dwellith with outen ende.
2:18My litle sones, the laste our is; and as ye han herd, that antecrist cometh, now many antecristis ben maad; wherfor we witen, that it is the laste our.
2:19Thei wenten forth fro vs, but thei weren not of vs; for if thei hadden be of vs, thei hadden dwelte with vs; but that thei be knowun, that thei ben not of vs.
2:20But ye han anointyng of the Hooli Goost, and knowen alle thingis.
2:21Y wroot not to you, as to men that knowen not treuthe, but as to men that knowen it, and for ech leesing is not of treuthe.
2:22Who is a liere, but this that denyeth that Jhesu is not Crist? This is antecrist, that denyeth the fadir, and the sone.
2:23So ech that denyeth the sone, hath not the fadir; but he that knowlechith the sone, hath also the fadir.
2:24That thing that ye herden at the bigynnyng, dwelle it in you; for if that thing dwellith in you, which ye herden at the bigynnyng, ye schulen dwelle in the sone and in the fadir.
2:25And this is the biheeste, that he bihiyte to vs euerlastinge lijf.
2:26Y wroot these thingis to you, of hem that disseyuen you,
2:27and that the anoyntyng which ye resseyueden of hym, dwelle in you. And ye han not nede, that ony man teche you, but as his anoyntyng techith you of alle thingis, and it is trewe, and it is not leesyng; and as he tauyte you, dwelle ye in hym.
2:28And now, ye litle sones, dwelle ye in hym, that whanne he schal appere, we haue a trist, and be not confoundid of hym in his comyng.
2:29If ye witen that he is iust, wite ye that also ech that doith riytwisnesse, is borun of hym.

2:1My little children, these things write I vnto you, that ye sinne not: and if any man sinne, wee haue an Aduocate with the Father, Iesus Christ, the Iust.
2:2And he is the reconciliation for our sinnes: and not for ours onely, but also for the sinnes of the whole world.
2:3And hereby we are sure that we knowe him, if we keepe his commandements.
2:4Hee that saith, I knowe him, and keepeth not his commandements, is a liar, and the trueth is not in him.
2:5But hee that keepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfect in deede: hereby wee knowe that ye are in him.
2:6He that saith he remaineth in him, ought euen so to walke, as he hath walked.
2:7Brethren, I write no newe commandement vnto you: but an olde commandement, which ye haue had from the beginning: this olde commandement is that worde, which yee haue heard from the beginning.
2:8Againe, a new comandement I write vnto you, that which is true in him, and also in you: for the darkenes is past, and that true light now shineth.
2:9He that saith that hee is in that light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenes, vntill this time.
2:10Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in that light, and there is none occasion of euil in him.
2:11But he that hateth his brother, is in darkenesse, and walketh in darkenesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darkenesse hath blinded his eyes.
2:12Litle children, I write vnto you, because your sinnes are forgiuen you for his Names sake.
2:13I write vnto you, fathers, because yee haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I write vnto you, yong men, because ye haue ouercome that wicked one. I write vnto you, litle children, because ye haue knowen ye Father.
2:14I haue written vnto you, fathers, because ye haue knowen him, that is from the beginning. I haue written vnto you, yong men, because ye are strong, and the worde of God abideth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wicked one.
2:15Loue not this world, neither the things that are in this world. If any man loue this world, the loue of the Father is not in him.
2:16For all that is in this world (as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life) is not of the Father, but is of this world.
2:17And this world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that fulfilleth the will of God, abideth euer.
2:18Litle children, it is the last time, and as ye haue heard that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many Antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last time.
2:19They went out from vs, but they were not of vs: for if they had bene of vs, they should haue continued with vs. But this cometh to passe, that it might appeare, that they are not all of vs.
2:20But ye haue an ointment from that Holy one, and know all things.
2:21I haue not written vnto you, because ye knowe not the trueth: but because ye knowe it, and that no lie is of the trueth.
2:22Who is a liar, but he that denyeth that Iesus is that Christ? the same is that Antichrist that denyeth the Father and the Sonne.
2:23Whosoeuer denyeth the Sonne, the same hath not the Father.
2:24Let therefore abide in you that same which ye haue heard from the beginning. If that which ye haue heard from the beginning, shall remaine in you, ye also shall continue in the Sonne, and in the Father.
2:25And this is the promise that he hath promised vs, euen that eternall life.
2:26These things haue I written vnto you, concerning them that deceiue you.
2:27But that anointing which ye receiued of him, dwelleth in you: and ye neede not that any man teach you: but as the same Anoynting teacheth you of all things, and it is true, and is not lying, and as it taught you, ye shall abide in him.
2:28And nowe, litle children, abide in him, that when he shall appeare, we may be bolde, and not be ashamed before him at his comming.
2:29If ye know that he is righteous, know ye that he which doeth righteously, is borne of him.

2:1My little children, these things I write to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2:2And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the entire world.
2:3Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
2:4He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
2:5But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
2:6He who says he abides in Him should also himself so walk just as He walked.
2:7Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
2:8Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness has passed away, and the true light now shines.
2:9He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
2:10He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
2:11But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because that darkness has blinded his eyes.
2:12I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.
2:13I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.
2:14I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
2:15Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
2:16Because, everything that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
2:17And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
2:18Little children, it is the last time; and as you have heard the Antichrist is coming, even now there are many antichrists, by whom we know that it is the last time.
2:19They went out from us, but they were not of us; because, if they had been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us ; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that they were not all of us.
2:20But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
2:21I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
2:22Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
2:23Whoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father: but he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
2:24Therefore let that abide in you which you have heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will continue in the Son and in the Father.
2:25And this is the promise that He has promised us, even eternal life.
2:26These things I have written to you concerning those who seduce you.
2:27But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you shall abide in Him.
2:28And now, little children, abide in Him; that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
2:29If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
