3:1 | Beholde, what manner of loue the Father hath bestowed vpon vs, that wee should be called the sonnes of God: therfore the world knoweth vs not, because it knewe him not. |
3:2 | Beloued, now are we the sonnes of God, and it doeth not yet appeare, what wee shall be: but wee know, that when he shall appeare, we shall bee like him: for we shall see him as he is. |
3:3 | And euery man that hath this hope in him, purifieth himselfe, euen as he is pure. |
3:4 | Whosoeuer committeth sinne, transgresseth also the lawe: for sinne is the transgression of the law. |
3:5 | And ye know that hee was manifested to take away our sinnes, and in him is no sinne. |
3:6 | Whosoeuer abideth in him, sinneth not: whosoeuer sinneth, hath not seene him, neither knowen him. |
3:7 | Little children, let no man deceiue you: he that doth righteousnes, is righteous, euen as he is righteous. |
3:8 | He that committeth sinne, is of the deuill, for the deuill sinneth from the beginning: for this purpose the Sonne of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the deuill. |
3:9 | Whosoeuer is borne of God, doth not commit sinne: for his seede remaineth in him, and he cannot sinne, because he is borne of God. |
3:10 | In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the deuill: whosoeuer doeth not righteousnesse, is not of God, neither hee that loueth not his brother. |
3:11 | For this is the message that yee heard from the beginning, that wee should loue one another. |
3:12 | Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slewe his brother: and wherefore slewe hee him? because his owne workes were euill, and his brothers righteous. |
3:13 | Marueile not, my brethren, if the world hate you. |
3:14 | Wee know that wee haue passed from death vnto life, because wee loue the brethren: he that loueth not his brother, abideth in death. |
3:15 | Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a murtherer, and yee knowe that no murtherer hath eternall life abiding in him. |
3:16 | Hereby perceiue wee the loue of God, because he layd downe his life for vs, and wee ought to lay downe our liues for the brethren. |
3:17 | But who so hath this worlds good, and seeth his brother hath need, and shutteth vp his bowels of compassion from him; how dwelleth the loue of God in him? |
3:18 | My little children, let vs not loue in word, neither in tongue, but indeede and in trueth. |
3:19 | And hereby wee know that wee are of the trueth, and shall assure our hearts before him. |
3:20 | For if our heart condemne vs, God is greater then our heart, and knoweth all things. |
3:21 | Beloued, if our heart condemne vs not, then haue wee confidence towards God. |
3:22 | And whatsoeuer we aske, wee receiue of him, because we keepe his commandement, and doe those things that are pleasing in his sight. |
3:23 | And this is his commandement, that we should beleeue on the Name of his Sonne Iesus Christ, and loue one another, as hee gaue vs commandement. |
3:24 | And hee that keepeth his commandements dwelleth in him, and hee in him: and hereby wee know that hee abideth in vs, by the spirit which hee hath giuen vs. |

3:16 | Hereby haue we perceiued loue, that he layde downe his life for vs: therefore we ought also to lay downe our liues for the brethren. |
3:17 | And whosoeuer hath this worlds good, and seeth his brother haue neede, and shutteth vp his compassion from him, howe dwelleth the loue of God in him? |
3:18 | My litle children, let vs not loue in worde, neither in tongue onely, but in deede and in trueth. |
3:19 | For thereby we know that we are of the trueth, and shall before him assure our hearts. |
3:20 | For if our heart condemne vs, God is greater then our heart, and knoweth all things. |
3:21 | Beloued, if our heart condemne vs not, then haue we boldnes toward God. |
3:22 | And whatsoeuer we aske we receiue of him, because we keepe his commandements, and do those things which are pleasing in his sight. |
3:23 | This is then his commandement, That we beleeue in the Name of his Sonne Iesus Christ, and loue one another as hee gaue commandement. |
3:24 | For hee that keepeth his commandements, dwelleth in him, and he in him: and hereby we knowe that hee abideth in vs, euen by that Spirit which he hath giuen vs. |

3:7 | Babes let no man deceiue you. He that doth rightuousnes is rightuous, euen as he is righteous. |
3:8 | He that committeth sinne, is of the deuil, for the deuil sinneth sence the beginninge. For this purpose appered the sonne of God to lowse the workes of the deuil. |
3:9 | Whosoeuer is borne of God, sinneth not, for hys seed remaineth in him, and he can not sinne, because he is borne of God. |
3:10 | In this are the chyldren of God knowen, and the chyldren of the deuil. Whosoeuer doth not rightuousnes, is not of God, neyther he that loueth not his brother. |
3:11 | For this is the tidinges, that ye hearde from the beginninge, that ye should loue one anothere |
3:12 | not as Cayn, which was of the wicked & slewe his brother. And wherfore slewe he him? Because his own workes were euyll, and his brothers good. |
3:13 | Maruaile not my brethren though the worlde hate you. |
3:14 | We know that we are translated from death vnto lyfe, because we loue the brethren. He that loueth not his brother, abydeth in death. |
3:15 | Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a man slear. And ye know that no man slear hath eternal life abidinge in him. |
3:16 | Hereby perceyue we loue, that he gaue hys lyfe for vs, & therfore oughte we also to geue our lyues for the brethren. |
3:17 | Whosoeuer hath this worldes good, and seeth his brother haue nede, and shutteth vp his compassion from him, howe dwelleth the loue of God in hym? |
3:18 | My babes, let vs not loue in worde neyther in tonge, but wyth the dede and in veryty: |
3:19 | For therby we know that we are of the verytye, and can before him quyete oure hertes. |
3:20 | But if our hertes condempne vs, God is greater then our hertes, and knoweth all thinges. |
3:21 | Beloued, yf our hertes condempne vs not, then haue we trust to Godward, |
3:22 | and whatsoeuer we are, we shall receiue of him, because we kepe his commaundementes, and do these thinges, which are pleasyng in hys sight. |
3:23 | And this is his commaundement, that we beleue on the name of his sonne Iesus Christ and loue one another, as he gaue commaundemente. |
3:24 | And he that kepeth hys commaundementes, dwelleth in hym and he in him, & therby we know that there abydeth in vs of the spyryte, which he gaue vs. |
