22:1 | And Dauid spake the wordes of this song vnto the Lorde, what time the Lorde had delyuered him out of the hand of al his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul |
22:2 | And he saide: The Lorde is my rocke, and my castell, and my delyuerer |
22:3 | God is my strength, in him will I trust: he is my shielde, and the horne of my saluation, my hie towre, and my refuge, my sauiour, thou hast saued me from wrong |
22:4 | I will call on the Lorde which is prayse worthy: and so shall I be saued from myne enemies |
22:5 | For the panges of death closed me about: the fludes of Belial put me in feare |
22:6 | The sorowes of hell compassed me about, the snares of death ouertoke me |
22:7 | In my tribulation did I call vppon the Lorde, and crye to my God: and he dyd heare my voyce out of his temple, and my crye did enter into his eares |
22:8 | The earth trembled and quaked: the foundations of heauen moued & shooke when he was angry |
22:9 | Smoke went out at his nosthryls, & consuming fyre out of his mouth: coles were kindled thereat |
22:10 | And he bowed heauen & came downe: and there was darkenesse vnder his feete |
22:11 | And he rode vpon Cherub and did flee: he was seene vppon the winges of the winde |
22:12 | He made darknes a tabernacle rounde about him: with waters gathered together in thicke cloudes |
22:13 | Through the brightnes of his presence were the coles of fyre kindled |
22:14 | The Lorde thundred from heauen: & he that is most hie, put out his voyce |
22:15 | He shot arrowes, and scattered them: to wit lyghtning, & ouerthrew them |
22:16 | The chanels of the sea appeared: and the foundatios of the world were seene, by the reason of ye rebuking of the Lord, and through the blasting of the breath of his nosthryls |
22:17 | He sent from aboue and toke me: he drew me out of many waters |
22:18 | He deliuered me from my mightie enemie, and from them that hated me: for they were to strong for me |
22:19 | When they had preuented me in the daye of my calamitie: the Lorde stayed me vp |
22:20 | For he brought me out into roomth: he deliuered me, because he had a fauour vnto me |
22:21 | The Lorde rewarded me according to my righteousnesse: accordyng to the purenes of my hands he recompensed me |
22:22 | For I haue kept the wayes of ye Lord: and did not wickedly agaynst my God |
22:23 | For all his lawes were in my sight: & his statutes, I did not depart therefro |
22:24 | In his sight also haue I ben vpright: and haue kept me from myne owne iniquitie |
22:25 | And the Lorde did to me againe according to my righteousnesse: euen after my purenes in his eye sight |
22:26 | With the godly thou shalt be godlie: and with the man that is vpright, thou shalt be vpright |
22:27 | With the pure thou shalt be pure: and with the froward thou wilt shewe thy selfe froward |
22:28 | And the poore people thou wilt saue: but thyne eyes are vpon the proude, to bring them downe |
22:29 | For thou art my lyght, O Lorde: and the Lorde shall light my darkenesse |
22:30 | For by thee I shall breake through an hoast of men: and by my God wyll I spring ouer a wall |
22:31 | God is vncorrupt in his way, the word of the Lord is tryed in the fyre: he is a shielde to all them that trust in him |
22:32 | For who is a God saue the Lord? and who is mightie saue our God |
22:33 | God strengthneth me in battaile: & ryddeth the way cleare before me |
22:34 | He maketh my feete lyke hyndes feete: and setteth me vpon my hie places |
22:35 | He teacheth my handes to fight: that euen a bowe of steele is broken with myne armes |
22:36 | Thou hast geuen me the shielde of thy saluation: and with thy louing mekenesse thou doest multiplie me |
22:37 | Thou hast enlarged my steps vnder me: and my legges shall not faile me |
22:38 | I haue folowed vpon myne enemies, and destroyed them: and turned not againe, vntill I had consumed them |
22:39 | I haue wasted them, and wounded them, that they shal not be able to aryse: yea, they shall fall vnder my feete |
22:40 | Thou hast gyrded me about with might to battayle: and them that rose against me, hast thou subdued vnder me |
22:41 | And thou hast geuen me the neckes of myne enemies: that I might destroye them that hate me |
22:42 | They loked about, but there was none to saue them: euen vnto the Lorde, but he heard them not |
22:43 | Then did I beate them as small as the dust of the earth: I did stampe them as the clay of the streate, and did spreade them abrode |
22:44 | Thou also hast deliuered me from the discention of my people, thou hast kept me to be an head ouer nations: the people which I knew not, do serue me |
22:45 | Straunge childre dissemble with me: at the hearing of the eare, they obey me |
22:46 | Straunge children wil shrinke away: and they shall be smytten with feare in their priuie chamber |
22:47 | Let the Lord lyue, and blessed be my strength: magnified be God euen the force of my saluation |
22:48 | It is God that geueth me power to reuenge me: & bringeth downe the people vnder me |
22:49 | He deliuereth me from myne enemies, thou also hast lyft me on hie from them that rose against me: thou hast delyuered me from the wicked man |
22:50 | And therefore I wyll prayse thee O Lorde among the nations: and wyll sing vnto thy name |
22:51 | He is the towre of saluation for his king, and dealeth mercyfully with his annoynted: euen with Dauid, and with his seede for euermore |

22:4 | I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praysed: so shall I be safe from mine enemies. |
22:5 | For the pangs of death haue compassed me: the floods of vngodlinesse haue made mee afrayd. |
22:6 | The sorowes of the graue compassed mee about: the snares of death ouertooke mee. |
22:7 | But in my tribulation did I call vpon the Lord, and crie to my God, and he did heare my voyce out of his temple, and my crie did enter into his eares. |

22:19 | They preuented me in the day of my calamitie, but the Lord was my stay, |
22:20 | And brought me foorth into a large place: he deliuered me, because he fauoured me. |
22:21 | The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnesse: according to the purenesse of mine handes he recompensed me. |
22:22 | For I kept the wayes of the Lord, and did not wickedly against my God. |
22:23 | For all his lawes were before me, and his statutes: I did not depart therefrom. |
22:24 | I was vpright also towarde him, and haue kept me from my wickednesse. |
22:25 | Therefore the Lord did reward me according to my righteousnesse, according to my purenesse before his eyes. |
22:26 | With the godly thou wilt shewe thy selfe godly: with the vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright. |
22:27 | With the pure thou wilt shewe thy selfe pure, and with the frowarde thou wilt shew thy selfe frowarde. |
22:28 | Thus thou wilt saue the poore people: but thine eyes are vpon the hautie to humble them. |
22:29 | Surely thou art my light, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkenes. |
22:30 | For by thee haue I broken through an hoste, and by my God haue I leaped ouer a wall. |
22:31 | The way of God is vncorrupt: the word of the Lord is tryed in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him. |
22:32 | For who is God besides the Lord? and who is mightie, saue our God? |
22:33 | God is my strength in battel, and maketh my way vpright. |
22:34 | He maketh my feete like hindes feete, and hath set me vpon mine hie places. |
22:35 | He teacheth mine handes to fight, so that a bowe of brasse is broken with mine armes. |
22:36 | Thou hast also giuen me the shield of thy saluation, and thy louing kindnesse hath caused me to increase. |
22:37 | Thou hast inlarged my steppes vnder me, and mine heeles haue not slid. |
22:38 | I haue pursued mine enemies and destroyed them, and haue not turned againe vntill I had consumed them. |
22:39 | Yea, I haue consumed them and thrust them through, and they shall not arise, but shall fall vnder my feete. |
22:40 | For thou hast girded me with power to battell, and them that arose against me, hast thou subdued vnder me. |
22:41 | And thou hast giuen me the neckes of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. |
22:42 | They looked about, but there was none to saue them, euen vnto the Lord, but he answered them not. |
22:43 | Then did I beate them as small as the dust of the earth: I did treade them flat as the clay of the streete, and did spread them abroad. |
22:44 | Thou hast also deliuered me from the contentions of my people: thou hast preserued me to be the head ouer nations: the people which I knewe not, doe serue me. |
22:45 | Strangers shalbe in subiection to me: assoone as they heare, they shall obey me. |
22:46 | Strangers shall shrinke away, and feare in their priuie chambers. |
22:47 | Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength: and God, euen the force of my saluation be exalted. |
22:48 | It is God that giueth me power to reuenge me, and subdue the people vnder me, |
22:49 | And rescueth me from mine enemies: (thou also hast lift me vp from them that rose against me, thou hast deliuered me from the cruell man. |
22:50 | Therefore I will praise thee, O Lord amog the nations, and will sing vnto thy Name) |
22:51 | He is the tower of saluation for his King, and sheweth mercie to his anointed, euen to Dauid, and to his seede for euer. |

22:10 | And he bowed heuen, and came downe, and there was darcknesse vnder his fete. |
22:11 | And he satt vpon Cherub & dyd flye he was sene caryed vpon the wynges of the wynde. |
22:12 | He made darcknesse a tabernacle rounde about hym, with waters geathered to geather in thycke cloudes. |
22:13 | Thorowe the bryghtnesse of his presence were the fyre coles kyndled. |
22:14 | God thundred from heuen, and he that is most hye, doth put out his voyce. |
22:15 | He shotte arowes, and skatered them: he hurled lyghtenynge, and ouerthrewe them. |
22:16 | The flowinges of the see appered, and the foundacyons of the worlde were sene, by the reason of the rebukinge of the Lorde, and thorowe the blastynge of the breeth of hys nostrelles. |
22:17 | He shall sende from heauen, and fett me, he shall plucke me out of many waters. |
22:18 | He shall delyuer me from my myghtye aduersarye, and fro myne enemyes, for they are to stronge for me. |
22:19 | When they had ouertaken me in the daye of my calamytye the Lorde stayed me vp. |
22:20 | For he brought me out into rowmth: he delyuered me, because he had a loue vnto me. |
22:21 | The Lord will rewarde me accordinge to my ryghtwysnesse: accordynge to the purenesse of my handes will he recompense me. |
22:22 | For I haue kept the wayes of the Lorde, & done no wyckednesse agaynst my God. |
22:23 | For all his lawes are in my syght, & his statutes wyll not I put awaye fro me. |
22:24 | In his syght also haue I bene vndefyled, & haue kepte me fro myne awne iniquite. |
22:25 | And the Lorde dyd to me agayne, accordynge to my ryghtwesnes, euen after my purenesse in his eyesyght. |
22:26 | Wyth the godly thou shalt be godly, and wt the man that is vncorrupt, thou shalt be vncorrupt. |
22:27 | With the pure thou shalt be pure, & with the frowarde thou shalt be frowarde. |
22:28 | And the pore people that are in aduersyte, thou shalt helpe. And on the proude shalt thou cast thine eyes. |
22:29 | Thou art my light O Lorde: the Lorde shall lyght my darknesse. |
22:30 | For with thy helpe I will runne thorowe an Hoste of men, and in my God wyll I sprynge ouer a walle |
22:31 | God is vncorrupt in his waye: the worde of the Lorde is tryed in the fyre: he is the defender of all them that trust in him. |
22:32 | For who is a God, saue the Lorde? & who is myghtie, saue oure God? |

22:35 | He teacheth my handes to fyght, that euen a bowe of stele is to weake for myne armes. |
22:36 | Thou hast geuen me the shild of thy saluacyon, and with thy louinge mekenesse thou dost multiplie me. |
22:37 | Thou shalt make me space to walke in, and my legges shall not fayle me. |
22:38 | I wyll folowe vpon myne enemyes and destroye them, and turne not agayne vntyll I haue consumed them. |
22:39 | I will waste them and smyte them, that they shall not be able to aryse: yee, they shall fall vnder my fete. |

22:41 | And thou madest myne enemyes (& them that hated me) to turne their backes to me, that I myght destroye them. |
22:42 | They loke for helpe, but there is none to saue them: Yee, euen vnto the Lorde do they crye, but he heareth them not. |
22:43 | I will beate them as smalle as the dust of the erth: I will stampe them as the dyrte of the strete, and will spreade them abroade. |
22:44 | Thou shalt delyuer me from the dissencyon of my people: thou shalt kepe me to be an heed ouer nacyons: the people whych I knewe not, shall serue me. |
22:45 | Straunge children dissemble with me. At the hearynge of the eare they obeye me. |
22:46 | Straunge chyldren will shryncke awaye, and they shalbe smytten with feare in their preuye chamber. |
22:47 | God is a lyue, and blessed be my maker: magnifyed be God, my most stronge saluacion. |

22:49 | He delyuereth me fro myne enemyes, thou also shalt lyfte me vpon hye from them that ryse agaynst me, thou shalt delyuer me from the wicked men. |
22:50 | And therfore I will prayse the (O Lorde) amonge the nacyons, and wyll synge vnto thy name. |
22:51 | Whych sheweth greate saluacyon for his kynge, and dealeth mercyfully with his anoynted: euen wyth Dauid, and wyth his sede for euermore. |
