1 Chronicles - Chapter: 5

5:1Now the sonnes of Reuben the first borne of Israel, (for hee was the first borne, but, forasmuch as he defiled his fathers bed, his birthright was giuen vnto the sonnes of Ioseph the sonne of Israel: and the genealogie is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
5:2For Iudah preuailed aboue his brethren, and of him came the chiefe rulers, but the birthright was Iosephs.
5:3The sonnes, I say, of Reuben the first borne of Israel were: Hanoch, and Pallu, Ezron, and Carmi.
5:4The sonnes of Ioel: Shemaiah his sonne: Gog his sonne: Shimei his sonne:
5:5Micah his son: Reaia his sonne: Baal his sonne.
5:6Beerah his sonne: whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, carried away captiue: He was Prince of the Reubenites.
5:7And his brethren by their families (when the genealogie of their generations was reckoned) were the chiefe, Ieiel, and Zechariah,
5:8And Bela the sonne of Azah, the sonne of Shema, the sonne of Ioel, who dwelt in Aroer, euen vnto Nebo, and Baalmeon.
5:9And Eastward he inhabited vnto the entring in of the wildernes, from the riuer Euphrates: because their cattell were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
5:10And in the dayes of Saul, they made warre with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the East land of Gilead.
5:11And the children of Gad dwelt ouer against them, in the land of Bashan vnto Salchah.
5:12Ioel the chiefe, and Shapham the next: and Iaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
5:13And their brethren of the house of their fathers, were: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Iorai, and Iachan, and Zia, and Heber, seuen.
5:14These are the children of Abihail the sonne of Huri, the sonne of Iaroah, the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Michael, the sonne of Ieshishai, the sonne of Iahdo, the sonne of Buz:
5:15Ahi the sonne of Abdiel, the sonne of Guni, chiefe of the house of their fathers.
5:16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her townes, and in all the Suburbs of Sharon, vpon their borders.
5:17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the dayes of Iotham king of Iudah, and in the dayes of Ieroboam king of Israel.
5:18The sonnes of Reuben, and the Gadites, and halfe the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to beare buckler and sword, and to shoote with bow, and skilfull in warre, were foure and fourtie thousand, seuen hundred and threescore, that went out to the warre.
5:19And they made warre with the Hagarites, with Ietur, and Nephish, and Nodab.
5:20And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were deliuered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battell, and he was intreated of them, because they put their trust in him.
5:21And they tooke away their cattell: of their camels fiftie thousand, and of sheepe two hundred and fiftie thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.
5:22For there fell downe many slaine, because the warre was of God. And they dwelt in their steads vntil the captiuity.
5:23And the children of the halfe tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the lande: they increased from Bashan vnto Baal-hermon, and Senir, and vnto mount Hermon.
5:24And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, euen Epher, and Ishi, & Eliel, and Azriel, and Ieremiah, and Hodauiah, and Iahdiel, mightie men of valour, famous men, & heads of the house of their fathers.
5:25And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the Gods of the people of the land, whome God destroyed before them.
5:26And the God of Israel stirred vp the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he caried them away (euen the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the halfe tribe of Manasseh:) & brought them vnto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the riuer Gozan, vnto this day.

5:2For Iudah preuailed aboue his brethren, and of him came the prince, but the birthright was Iosephs)
5:3The sonnes of Reuben the eldest sonne of Israel, were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
5:4The sonnes of Ioel, Shemaiah his sonne, Gog his sonne, and Shimei his sonne,
5:5Michah his sonne, Reaiah his sonne, and Baal his sonne,
5:6Beerah his sonne: whom Tilgath Pilneeser King of Asshur caryed away: he was a prince of the Reubenites.
5:7And when his brethren in their families rekoned the genealogie of their generations, Ieiel and Zechariah were the chiefe,
5:8And Bela the sonne of Azaz, the sonne of Shema, the sonne of Ioel, which dwelt in Aroer, euen vnto Nebo and Baal meon.
5:9Also Eastwarde he inhabited vnto the entring in of the wildernes from the riuer Perath for they had much cattel in the land of Gilead.
5:10And in the dayes of Saul they warred with the Hagarims, which fell by their hands: and they dwelt in their tentes in all the East partes of Gilead.
5:11And the children of Gad dwelt ouer against them in the land of Bashan, vnto Salchah.
5:12Ioel was the chiefest, and Shapham the second, but Iaanai and Shaphat were in Bashan.
5:13And their brethren of the house of their fathers were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Sorai, and Iacan, and Zia and Eber, seuen.
5:14These are the childre of Abihail, the sonne of Huri, the sonne of Iaroah, the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Michael, the sonne of Ieshishai, the sonne of Iahdo, the sonne of Buz.
5:15Ahi the sonne of Abdiel, the sonne of Guni was chiefe of the houshold of their fathers.
5:16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in the townes thereof, and in all the suburbes of Sharon by their borders.
5:17All these were rekoned by genealogies in the dayes of Iotham King of Iudah, and in the dayes of Ieroboam King of Israel.
5:18The sonnes of Reuben and of Gad, and of halfe the tribe of Manasseh of those that were viliant men, able to beare shield, and sworde, and to draw a bowe, exercised in warre, were foure and fourtie thousand, seuen hundreth and three score, that went out to the warre.
5:19And they made warre with the Hagarims, with Ietur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
5:20And they were holpen against them, and the Hagarims were deliuered into their hande, and all that were with them: for they cryed to God in the battel, and he heard them, because they trusted in him.
5:21And they led away their cattel, euen their camels fiftie thousand, and two hundreth, and fiftie thousand sheepe, and two thousand asses, and of persons an hundreth thousand.
5:22For many fel downe wounded, because the warre was of God. And they dwelt in their steads vntill the captiuitie.
5:23And the children of the halfe tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Baashan vnto Baal Hermon, and Senir, and vnto mount Hermon: for they increased.
5:24And these were the heads of the housholds of their fathers, euen Epher and Ishi, and Eliel and Azriel, and Ieremiah, and Hodauiah, and Iahdiel, strong men, valiant and famous, heades of the housholdes of their fathers.
5:25But they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the lande, whome God had destroyed before them.
5:26And the God of Israel stirred vp the spirit of Pul king of Asshur, and the spirite of Tilgath Pilneeser king of Asshur, and he caryed them away: euen the Reubenites and the Gadites, and the halfe tribe of Manasseh, and brought them vnto Halah and Habor, and Hara, and to the riuer Gozan, vnto this day.

 

5:1The sonnes of Ruben the eldest sonne of Israel: for asmoche as he was the eldest, and had defyled hys fathers bedd, his byrthryght was geuen vnto the sonnes of Ioseph the sonne of Israel. Howbeit, the genealogy is not rekoned after this byrthryght.
5:2For Iuda, he preuayled aboue hys brethren, and of this trybe came the chefe, and the byrthryght was geuen to Ioseph.
5:3The sonnes then of Ruben the eldest sonne of Israel were: Henoch, Phalu, Hezron and Charmi.
5:4The sonnes of Ioel: Samaiah: hys sonne, Gog hys sonne, and Semhi hys sonne,
5:5Micah hys sonne, Reaia hys sonne, and Baal hys sonne,
5:6Beera hys sonne. Whome Thiglath Pylneser kynge of Assyria caryed awaye: for he was a great lorde among the Rubenites.
5:7And when hys brethren in theyr kynredes, rekoned the genealogye of theyr generacyons: Ieiel and Zachariah were the chefe.
5:8And Baal the sonne of Azan, the sonne of Sema, the sonne of Ioel, dwelt in Aroer: and so forthe vnto Nebo and Baalmeon.
5:9And eastwarde, he enhabited vnto the entrynge in of the wyldernesse, from the ryuer Euphrates: for they had moche catell in the lande of Gilead.
5:10And in the dayes of Saul, they warred with the Hagarites, which were ouerthrowen into theyr hande. And they dwelte in theyr tentes thorowout all the east lande of Gilgal.
5:11And the chyldren of Gad dwelte ouer against them in the lande of Basan, euen vnto Salcha.
5:12And in Basan, Ioel was the chefest, and Sapham the nexte, then Ianai and Saphat.
5:13And theyr brethren of the housholde of theyr fathers, were Michael, Meosuesam, Seba, Iorai, Iahcan, Zia, Eber, Senen.
5:14These are the chyldren of Abihail the sonne of Huri, the sonne of Ieroah, the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Michael, the sonne of Iesisai, the sonne of Iahdo, the sonne of Buz.
5:15Ahi (the sonne of Abdiel, the sonne of Guni) was a captayne of the housholde of theyr fathers.
5:16And they dwelt in Gilead, in Basan, and in her townes, and in all the suburbes of Saron, and in theyr borders.
5:17All these were rekoned by kynredes in the dayes of Iotham kynge of Iuda, and in the dayes of Ieroboam kyng of Israel.
5:18The sonnes of Ruben, and of Gad, and of halfe the trybe of Manasse, were fyghtynge men, and able to beare shylde and swearde, and to shote with bowe, excercysed in warre, euen foure and fourtye thousande, seuen hundred and threskore, that wente out to the warre.
5:19And they fought with the Hagarites, with Ietur, Nephis and Nodab.
5:20And they were helped of the Lorde against them, and the Hagarites were deliuered into their hande, and so were all that were with them. For they cryed to God in the battayll, and he hearde them, because they put theyr trust in hym.
5:21And they toke of theyr catell and of theyr camels fyftye thousande, and two hundred and fyftye thousande shepe, and two thousande asses, and of the soules of men, an hondred thousande:
5:22and there fell many wounded, because the warre was of God. And they dwelt in theyr steades, vntyll the tyme that they were caryed awaye.
5:23And the chyldren of the halfe tribe of Manasse dwelt in the lande, from Basan vnto Baal Hermon, and Semir, and vnto mount Hermon:
5:24for they were growne to a greate multitude. And these were the heedes of the housholdes of theyr fathers: Epher, and Iesi, Eliel and Azriel, Ieremia and Hodauia, and Iaohdiel, stronge men and valeaunt, famouse men, and heedes of the housholdes of theyr fathers.
5:25And they transgressed agaynste the God of theyr fathers, and went a whorynge after the goddes of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them:
5:26and God stered vp the sprete of Phul kynge of Assiria, and the sprete of Thiglath Pilneser kynge of Assiria, and caryed them awaye: euen the Rubenytes, the Gaddites, and the halfe trybe of Manasse, and brought them vnto Halah, Habor, Hara: and to the ryuer Gozan, vnto thys daye.
