2 Chronicles - Chapter: 29

>
29:1Hezekiah began to reigne when hee was fiue and twentie yeeres old, and he reigned nine and twentie yeeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Abiiah the daughter of Zechariah.
29:2And hee did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Dauid his father had done.
29:3He, in the first yere of his reigne, in the first moneth, opened the doores of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.
29:4And hee brought in the Priests, and the Leuites, and gathered them together into the East street,
29:5And said vnto them, Heare me, ye Leuites, sanctifie now your selues, and sanctifie the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and cary foorth the filthinesse out of the holy place.
29:6For our fathers haue trespassed, and done that which was euill in the eyes of the Lord our God, and haue forsaken him, and haue turned away their faces from the habitation of the Lord, and turned their backs.
29:7Also they haue shut vp the doores of the Porch, and put out the lampes, and haue not burnt incense, nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place, vnto the God of Israel.
29:8Wherfore the wrath of the Lord was vpon Iudah and Ierusalem, and he hath deliuered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as yee see with your eyes.
29:9For loe, our fathers haue fallen by the sword, and our sonnes and our daughters, and our wiues, are in captiuitie for this.
29:10Now it is in mine heart to make a couenant with the Lord God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turne away from vs.
29:11My sonnes, bee not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serue him, and that you should minister vnto him, and burne incense.
29:12Then the Leuites arose, Mahath the sonne of Amashai, and Ioel the sonne of Azariah, of the sonnes of the Kohathites: and of the sonnes of Merari, Kish the sonne of Abdi, and Azariah the sonne of Iahalelel: and of the Gershonites Ioah, the sonne of Zimmah, and Eden the sonne of Ioah:
29:13And of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Shimri, and Iehiel: and of the sonnes of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah:
29:14And of the sonnes of Heman, Iehiel, and Shimei: and of the sonnes of Ieduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.
29:15And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselues, and came according to the commandement of the king, by the words of the Lord, to cleanse the house of the Lord.
29:16And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord, to cleanse it, and brought out all the vncleannes that they found in the temple of the Lord, into the court of the house of the Lord. And the Leuites tooke it, to carie it out abroad into the brooke Kidron.
29:17Now they began on the first day of the first moneth to sanctifie, and on the eight day of the moneth, came they to the porch of the Lord. So they sanctified the house of the Lord in eight dayes, and in the sixteenth day of the first moneth, they made an end.
29:18Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We haue cleansed all the house of the Lord, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shew-bread table, with all the vessels thereof.
29:19Moreouer all the vessels which king Ahaz in his reigne did cast away in his transgression, haue we prepared and sanctified, and behold, they are before the altar of the Lord.
29:20Then Hezekiah the king rose earely, and gathered the rulers of the citie, and went vp to the house of the Lord.
29:21And they brought seuen bullocks and seuen rammes, and seuen lambes, and seuen hee goats for a sinne offring for the kingdome, and for the Sanctuarie, and for Iudah: and he commaunded the priests the sonnes of Aaron to offer them on the Altar of the Lord.
29:22So they killed the bullockes, and the priestes receiued the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: like wise when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood vpon the altar: they killed also the lambes, and they sprinkled the blood vpon the altar.
29:23And they brought foorth the hee goats for the sinne offering, before the king and the congregation, and laide their hands vpon them:
29:24And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood vpon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offring and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.
29:25And hee set the Leuites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harpes, according to the commandement of Dauid, and of Gad the kings Seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandement of the Lord by his prophets.
29:26And the Leuites stood with the instruments of Dauid, and the priestes with the trumpets.
29:27And Hezekiah commaunded to offer the burnt offering vpon the altar: and when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordeined by Dauid king of Israel.
29:28And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpetters sounded: and all this continued vntill the burnt offering was finished.
29:29And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him, bowed themselues and worshipped.
29:30Moreouer Hezekiah the king and the Princes, commanded the Leuites to sing praise vnto the Lord, with the words of Dauid, and of Asaph the Seer: and they sang praises with gladnes, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.
29:31Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye haue consecrated your selues vnto the Lord: come neere and bring sacrifices, and thanke-offerings into the house of the Lord. And the congregation brought in sacrifices, and thank-offrings, and as many as were of a free heart, burnt offerings.
29:32And the number of the burnt offerings which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullockes, an hundred rammes, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offring to the Lord.
29:33And the consecrated things were, sixe hundred oxen, and three thousand sheepe.
29:34But the Priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Leuites did helpe them, till the worke was ended, and vntill the other Priestes had sanctified themselues: for the Leuites were more vpright in heart, to sanctifie themselues, then the Priests.
29:35And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, & the drinke offrings, for euery burnt offering. So the seruice of the house of the Lord was set in order.
29:36And Hezekiah reioyced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

29:1Hezekiah began to reigne, when he was fiue and twentie yeere olde, and reigned nine and twentie yeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Abiiah the daughter of Zechariah.
29:2And hee did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Dauid his father had done.
29:3He opened the doores of the house of the Lord in the first yeere, and in the first moneth of his reigne, and repared them.
29:4And he brought in the Priests and the Leuites, and gathered them into the East streete,
29:5And said vnto them, Heare me, ye Leuites: sanctifie nowe your selues, and sanctifie the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and cary forth the filthinesse out of the Sanctuarie.
29:6For our fathers haue trespassed, and done euill in the eyes of the Lord our God, and haue forsaken him, and turned away their faces from the Tabernacle of the Lord, and turned their backes.
29:7They haue also shut the doores of ye porch, and quenched the lampes, and haue neither burnt incense, nor offred burnt offrings in the Sanctuarie vnto the God of Israel.
29:8Wherfore the wrath of the Lord hath bin on Iudah and Ierusalem: and he hath made them a scattering, a desolation, and an hissing, as ye see with your eyes.
29:9For lo, our fathers are fallen by the sword, and our sonnes, and our daughters, and our wiues are in captiuitie for the same cause.
29:10Now I purpose to make a couenant with the Lord God of Israel, that he may turne away his fierce wrath from vs.
29:11Now my sonnes, be not deceiued: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serue him, and to be his ministers, and to burne incense.
29:12Then the Leuites arose, Mahath ye sonne of Amashai, and Ioel the sonne of Azariah of the sonnes of the Kohathites: and of the sonnes of Merari, Kish the sonne of Abdi, and Azariah the sonne of Iehalelel: and of the Gershonites, Ioah the sonne of Zimmah, and Eden the sonne of Ioah:
29:13And of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Shimri, and Iehiel: and of the sonnes of Asaph, Zechariah, and Mattaniah:
29:14And of the sonnes of Heman, Iehiel, and Shimei: and of the sonnes of Ieduthun, Shemaiah and Vzziel.
29:15And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselues and came according to the commandement of the King, and by the words of the Lord, for to clense the house of the Lord.
29:16And the Priests went into the inner partes of the house of the Lord, to clense it, and brought out all the vncleannesse that they founde in the Temple of the Lord, into the court of the house of the Lord: and the Leuites tooke it, to cary it out vnto the brooke Kidron.
29:17They began the first day of the first moneth to sanctifie it, and the eight day of the moneth came they to the porche of the Lord: so they sanctified the house of the Lord in eight dayes, and in the sixeteenth day of the first moneth they made an ende.
29:18Then they went in to Hezekiah ye King, and sayde, We haue clensed all the house of the Lord and the altar of burnt offring, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof:
29:19And all the vessels which King Ahaz had cast aside when he reigned, and transgressed, haue we prepared and sanctified: and beholde, they are before the altar of the Lord.
29:20And Hezekiah the King rose early, and gathered the princes of the citie, and went vp to the house of the Lord.
29:21And they brought seuen bullockes, and seuen rammes, and seuen lambes, and seuen hee goates, for a sinne offring for the kingdome, and for the sanctuarie, and for Iudah. And he commanded the Priests the sonnes of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the Lord.
29:22So they slewe the bullockes, and the Priests receiued the blood, and sprinkled it vpon the altar: they slew also the rammes and sprinkled the blood vpon the altar, and they slew the lambes, and they sprinkled the blood vpon the altar.
29:23Then they brought the hee goates for the sinne offring before the King and the Congregation, and they layde their hands vpon them.
29:24And the Priests slewe them, and with the blood of them they clensed the altar to reconcile all Israel: for the King had commanded for all Israel the burnt offring and the sinne offring.
29:25He appointed also the Leuites in the house of the Lord with cymbales, with violes, and with harpes, according to the commandement of Dauid, and Gad the Kings Seer, and Nathan the Prophet: for the commandement was by the hande of the Lord, and by the hande of his Prophets.
29:26And the Leuites stood with the instruments of Dauid, and the Priests with the trumpets.
29:27And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offring vpon the altar: and when the burnt offring began, the song of the Lord beganne with the trumpets, and the instruments of Dauid King of Israel.
29:28And al the Congregation worshipped, singing a song, and they blew the trumpets: all this continued vntill the burnt offring was finished.
29:29And when they had made an ende of offring, the King and all that were present with him, bowed themselues, and worshipped.
29:30Then Hezekiah the King and the princes commanded the Leuites to prayse the Lord with the wordes of Dauid, and of Asaph the Seer. so they praysed with ioy, and they bowed themselues, and worshipped.
29:31And Hezekiah spake, and sayde, Now ye haue consecrate your selues to the Lord: come neere and bring the sacrifices and offerings of prayse into the house of the Lord. And the Congregation brought sacrifices; and offrings of prayses, and euery man that was willing in heart, offred burnt offrings.
29:32And the nomber of the burnt offrings, which the Congregation brought, was seuentie bullockes, an hundreth rammes, and two hundreth lambes: all these were for a burnt offring to the Lord:
29:33And for sanctification sixe hundreth bullockes, and three thousand sheepe.
29:34But the Priests were too few, and were not able to flay all the burnt offrings: therefore their brethren the Leuites did helpe them, til they had ended the worke, and vntill other Priests were sanctified: for the Leuites were more vpright in heart to sanctifie themselues, then the Priests.
29:35And also the burnt offerings were many with the fat of the peace offrings and the drinke offrings for the burnt offring. so the seruice of the house of the Lord was set in order.
29:36Then Hezekiah reioyced and all the people, that God had made the people so ready: for the thing was done suddenly.

29:1Hezekia beganne to raygne, when he was fyue & twenty yere olde, & raygned nyne & twenty yere in Ierusalem. And his mothers name was Abia the daughter of Zachariahu.
29:2And he dyd that which was ryght in the syght of the Lorde, in all poyntes as dyd Dauid hys father.
29:3He opened the dores of the house of the Lorde (in the fyrst yere and fyrst moneth of hys raygne) and repayred them.
29:4And he brought in the preastes and the Leuites, and gathered them together in to the eest strete:
29:5and sayde vnto them. Heare me ye Leuites, & now be sanctifyed and halowe the house of the Lorde God of youre fathers, brynge fylthinesse out of the holy place.
29:6For oure fathers haue trespaced, and done euell in the eyes of the Lorde oure God: and haue forsaken him, & turned awaye theyr faces from the habitacion of the Lorde, and turned theyr backes on it.
29:7And besyde that they haue shut vp the dores of the porche and quenched the lampes, & haue nether burnt incense, nor offered burnt offeringes in the holy place vnto the God of Israel.
29:8Wherfore the wrath of the Lorde fell on Iuda and Ierusalem: & he hath brought them to trouble, to be wondred on, and to be hissed at, euen as ye se with youre eyes.
29:9For, lo, oure fathers were ouerthrowen with the swerde, and oure sonnes, oure daughters & oure wyues were caryed awaye captiue for the same cause.
29:10And nowe it is in my hert, to make a couenaunt with the Lorde God of Israel: that he maye turne awaye his heuye indignacyon from vs.
29:11Nowe therfore my sonnes, be not neclygent: for the Lorde hath chosen you to stande before him, and for to ministre and serue hym, and to burne incense.
29:12Then the Leuites arose: Mahath the sonne of Amasai, & Ioel the sonne of Asariahu of the chyldren of the Cahathites. And of the sonnes of Merari, Kis the sonne of Addi, and Asariahu the sonne of Iehalelel. And of the sonnes of the Gersonites, Ioah the sonne of Simma, and Eden the sonne of Ioah.
29:13And of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Simri & Iehiel. And of the sonnes of Asaph, Zechariahu and Mathaniahu.
29:14And of the sonnes of Heman, Iehiel & Simei. And of the sonnes of Ieduthun Semaia and Uziel.
29:15And they gathered their brethren, & purifyed them selues, & came accordynge to the commaundement of the kynge and the wordes of the Lorde, for to clense the house of the Lorde.
29:16And the preastes went into the ynner partes of the house of the Lord to clense it, and brought out all the vnclennesse that they founde in the temple of the Lorde into the court of the house of the Lorde. And the Leuites toke it, to carye it out into the broke Cedron.
29:17They beganne the fyrst daye of the fyrst moneth to purifye, and the eyght daye of the monethe came they to the porche of the Lorde: and purged the house of the Lorde in eyght dayes, and in the syxtene daye of the fyrst moneth they made an ende.
29:18And they went into Hezekia the kynge, & sayde: we haue clensed all the house of the Lord, the aulter of burntofferinge, with all his vessels, & the shewbreed table with all his apparell:
29:19and all the vessels which kyng Ahaz did cast a syde when he raygned & transgressed, them we haue prepared and sanctifyed: and beholde, they are before the aulter of the Lord.
29:20And Hezekia the kynge rose earlye, & gathered the Lordes of the cytie and went vp to the house of the Lorde.
29:21And they brought seuen oxen, seuen rammes, seuen shepe, and seuen hegoates, to be a synne offeryng for the kyngdome, for the sanctuarie, & for Iuda. And he commaunded the preastes the sonnes of Aaron, to offer them on the aulter of the Lorde.
29:22And they slue the oxen, & the preastes receaued the bloude, & sprinkled it on the aulter: lyke wyse, whan they had slayne the rammes, they sprinkled the bloude vpon the aulter: they slue also the shepe, & they sprinkled the bloud vpon the aulter.
29:23And then they brought forth the hegoates for the synne offerynge before the kynge and the congregacyon, & put theyr handes vpon them.
29:24And the preastes slue them, and with the bloude of them they clensed the aulter, to make satisfaccion for all Israel: for the kynge commaunded, that the burnt offerynge and the synne offering shulde be made for all Israel.
29:25And set the Leuites in the house of the Lorde with symbales, psalteries and harpes accordynge to the commaundement of Dauid and of Gad the kynges sear, and Nathan the prophete. For so was the commaundment of the Lorde thorowe the hande of his prophetes.
29:26And the Leuites stode, hauynge the instrumentes of Dauid, and the preastes helde the trompettes.
29:27And Hezekia commaunded to offer the burntofferynge vpon the aulter. And when the burntoffering beganne, the songe of the Lorde beganne also, & the trompettes wt the instrumentes that were ordeyned by the hande of Dauid kynge of Israel.
29:28And all the congregacion worshypped, synginge a song, and blowinge with the trompets, & all thys continued, vntyll the burnt offerynge was fynysshed.
29:29And when they had made an ende of offerynge, the kynge and all that were present wt hym. bowed them selues, & worshypped.
29:30And Hezekia the kynge & the Lordes spake to the Leuites to prayse the Lorde with the wordes of Dauid, & of Asaph the sear. And the Leuites sange prayses with gladnesse, and the other bowed them selues, and worshypped.
29:31And Hezekia answered, & sayde: nowe ye haue consecrate youre handes to the Lord: go to therfore, & bringe in the sacrifices & thankofferynges into the house of the Lorde. And the congregacyon brought in the sacrifyces & thanke offerynges & burntofferinges, as many as were of a fre liberall hart.
29:32And the nombre of the burntofferinges which the congregacion brought, was .lxx. oxen, an hundred rammes, & two hundred shepe: which were, all for the burnt offeringe of the Lorde.
29:33And ther were dedicated syxe hundred oxen, and thre thousande shepe.
29:34And the preastes were to fewe, to fleye all the burnt offeringes: but their brethren the Leuites dyd helpe them, till they had ended the worke, and vntyll the preastes were sanctifyed. For the Leuites were purer herted to be sanctifyed then the preastes.
29:35And therto the burnt offerynges were many with the fatte of the peace offeringes & the drinke offerynges that be longe to the burnt offerynge. And so the seruice pertayninge to the house of the Lorde was fynisshed.
29:36And Hezekia reioysed & all the people, that God had made the folcke so readye: and that the thynge was so soone done.
