2 Chronicles - Chapter: 31


31:1	Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
31:2	And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the LORD.
31:3	He appointed also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the LORD.
31:4	Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the LORD.
31:5	And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.
31:6	And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps.
31:7	In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
31:8	And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and his people Israel.
31:9	Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
31:10	And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.
31:11	Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them,
31:12	And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.
31:13	And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Cononiah and Shimei his brother, at the commandment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.
31:14	And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter toward the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of the LORD, and the most holy things.
31:15	And next him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:
31:16	Beside their genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the LORD, his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses;
31:17	Both to the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses;
31:18	And to the genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:
31:19	Also of the sons of Aaron the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites.
31:20	And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.
31:21	And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.


31:1	וככלות כל זאת יצאו כל ישׂראל הנמצאים לערי יהודה וישׁברו המצבות ויגדעו האשׁרים וינתצו את הבמות ואת המזבחת מכל יהודה ובנימן ובאפרים ומנשׁה עד לכלה וישׁובו כל בני ישׂראל אישׁ לאחזתו לעריהם׃
31:2	ויעמד יחזקיהו את מחלקות הכהנים והלוים על מחלקותם אישׁ כפי עבדתו לכהנים וללוים לעלה ולשׁלמים לשׁרת ולהדות ולהלל בשׁערי מחנות יהוה׃
31:3	ומנת המלך מן רכושׁו לעלות לעלות הבקר והערב והעלות לשׁבתות ולחדשׁים ולמעדים ככתוב בתורת יהוה׃
31:4	ויאמר לעם ליושׁבי ירושׁלם לתת מנת הכהנים והלוים למען יחזקו בתורת יהוה׃
31:5	וכפרץ הדבר הרבו בני ישׂראל ראשׁית דגן תירושׁ ויצהר ודבשׁ וכל תבואת שׂדה ומעשׂר הכל לרב הביאו׃
31:6	ובני ישׂראל ויהודה היושׁבים בערי יהודה גם הם מעשׂר בקר וצאן ומעשׂר קדשׁים המקדשׁים ליהוה אלהיהם הביאו ויתנו ערמות ערמות׃
31:7	בחדשׁ השׁלשׁי החלו הערמות ליסוד ובחדשׁ השׁביעי כלו׃
31:8	ויבאו יחזקיהו והשׂרים ויראו את הערמות ויברכו את יהוה ואת עמו ישׂראל׃
31:9	וידרשׁ יחזקיהו על הכהנים והלוים על הערמות׃
31:10	ויאמר אליו עזריהו הכהן הראשׁ לבית צדוק ויאמר מהחל התרומה לביא בית יהוה אכול ושׂבוע והותר עד לרוב כי יהוה ברך את עמו והנותר את ההמון הזה׃
31:11	ויאמר יחזקיהו להכין לשׁכות בבית יהוה ויכינו׃
31:12	ויביאו את התרומה והמעשׂר והקדשׁים באמונה ועליהם נגיד כונניהו הלוי ושׁמעי אחיהו משׁנה׃
31:13	ויחיאל ועזזיהו ונחת ועשׂהאל וירימות ויוזבד ואליאל ויסמכיהו ומחת ובניהו פקידים מיד כונניהו ושׁמעי אחיו במפקד יחזקיהו המלך ועזריהו נגיד בית האלהים׃
31:14	וקורא בן ימנה הלוי השׁוער למזרחה על נדבות האלהים לתת תרומת יהוה וקדשׁי הקדשׁים׃
31:15	ועל ידו עדן ומנימן וישׁוע ושׁמעיהו אמריהו ושׁכניהו בערי הכהנים באמונה לתת לאחיהם במחלקות כגדול כקטן׃
31:16	מלבד התיחשׂם לזכרים מבן שׁלושׁ שׁנים ולמעלה לכל הבא לבית יהוה לדבר יום ביומו לעבודתם במשׁמרותם כמחלקותיהם׃
31:17	ואת התיחשׂ הכהנים לבית אבותיהם והלוים מבן עשׂרים שׁנה ולמעלה במשׁמרותיהם במחלקותיהם׃
31:18	ולהתיחשׂ בכל טפם נשׁיהם ובניהם ובנותיהם לכל קהל כי באמונתם יתקדשׁו קדשׁ׃
31:19	ולבני אהרן הכהנים בשׂדי מגרשׁ עריהם בכל עיר ועיר אנשׁים אשׁר נקבו בשׁמות לתת מנות לכל זכר בכהנים ולכל התיחשׂ בלוים׃
31:20	ויעשׂ כזאת יחזקיהו בכל יהודה ויעשׂ הטוב והישׁר והאמת לפני יהוה אלהיו׃
31:21	ובכל מעשׂה אשׁר החל בעבודת בית האלהים ובתורה ובמצוה לדרשׁ לאלהיו בכל לבבו עשׂה והצליח׃


31:1	And at the completion of all this, gone out have all Israel who are found present to the cities of Judah, and break the standing-pillars, and cut down the shrines, and break down the high places and the altars, out of all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, even to completion, and all the sons of Israel turn back, each to his Possession, to their cities.
31:2	And Hezekiah appointeth the courses of the priests, and of the Levites, by their courses, each according to his service, of the priests and of the Levites, for burnt-offering, and for peace-offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to give praise in the gates of the camps of Jehovah.
31:3	And a portion of the king, from his substance, `is' for burnt-offerings, for burnt-offerings of the morning, and of the evening, and the burnt-offerings of sabbaths, and of new moons, and of appointed seasons, as it is written in the law of Jehovah.
31:4	And he saith to the people, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests, and of the Levites, so that they are strengthened in the law of Jehovah;
31:5	and at the spreading forth of the thing have the sons of Israel multiplied the first-fruit of corn, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field, and the tithe of the whole in abundance they have brought in.
31:6	And the sons of Israel and Judah, those dwelling in cities of Judah, they also a tithe of herd and flock, and a tithe of the holy things that are sanctified to Jehovah their God, have brought in, and they give -- heaps, heaps;
31:7	in the third month they have begun to lay the foundation of the heaps, and in the seventh month they have finished.
31:8	And Hezekiah and the heads come in and see the heaps, and bless Jehovah and His people Israel,
31:9	and Hezekiah inquireth at the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps,
31:10	and Azariah the head priest, of the house of Zadok, speaketh unto him, and saith, `From the beginning of the bringing of the heave-offering to the house of Jehovah, `there is' to eat, and to be satisfied, and to leave abundantly, for Jehovah hath blessed His people, and that left `is' this store.'
31:11	And Hezekiah saith to prepare chambers in the house of Jehovah, and they prepare,
31:12	and they bring in the heave-offering, and the tithe, and the holy things faithfully; and over them is a leader, Conaniah the Levite, and Shimei his brother `is' second;
31:13	and Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, `are' inspectors under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah leader of the house of God.
31:14	And Kore son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper at the east, `is' over the willing-offerings of God, to give the heave-offering of Jehovah, and the most holy things.
31:15	And by his hand `are' Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shechaniah, in cities of the priests, faithfully to give to their brethren in courses, as the great so the small,
31:16	apart from their genealogy, to males from a son of three years and upward, to every one who hath gone in to the house of Jehovah, by the matter of a day in its day, for their service in their charges, according to their courses;
31:17	and the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and of the Levites, from a son of twenty years and upward, in their charges, in their courses;
31:18	and to the genealogy among all their infants, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters to all the congregation, for in their faithfulness they sanctify themselves in holiness.
31:19	And to sons of Aaron, the priests, in the fields of the suburb of their cities, in every city and city, `are' men who have been defined by name, to give portions to every male among the priests, and to every one who reckoned himself by genealogy among the Levites.
31:20	And Hezekiah doth thus in all Judah, and doth that which is good, and that which is right, and that which is true, before Jehovah his God;
31:21	and in every work that he hath begun for the service of the house of God, and for the law, and for the command, to seek to his God, with all his heart he hath wrought and prospered.
