2 Chronicles - Chapter: 30


30:1	And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.
30:2	For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.
30:3	For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
30:4	And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.
30:5	So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.
30:6	So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
30:7	And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
30:8	Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
30:9	For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
30:10	So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.
30:11	Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
30:12	Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.
30:13	And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.
30:14	And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.
30:15	Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.
30:16	And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.
30:17	For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD.
30:18	For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one
30:19	That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.
30:20	And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
30:21	And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.
30:22	And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.
30:23	And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.
30:24	For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
30:25	And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.
30:26	So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.
30:27	Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.


30:1	וישׁלח יחזקיהו על כל ישׂראל ויהודה וגם אגרות כתב על אפרים ומנשׁה לבוא לבית יהוה בירושׁלם לעשׂות פסח ליהוה אלהי ישׂראל׃
30:2	ויועץ המלך ושׂריו וכל הקהל בירושׁלם לעשׂות הפסח בחדשׁ השׁני׃
30:3	כי לא יכלו לעשׂתו בעת ההיא כי הכהנים לא התקדשׁו למדי והעם לא נאספו לירושׁלם׃
30:4	ויישׁר הדבר בעיני המלך ובעיני כל הקהל׃
30:5	ויעמידו דבר להעביר קול בכל ישׂראל מבאר שׁבע ועד דן לבוא לעשׂות פסח ליהוה אלהי ישׂראל בירושׁלם כי לא לרב עשׂו ככתוב׃
30:6	וילכו הרצים באגרות מיד המלך ושׂריו בכל ישׂראל ויהודה וכמצות המלך לאמר בני ישׂראל שׁובו אל יהוה אלהי אברהם יצחק וישׂראל וישׁב אל הפליטה הנשׁארת לכם מכף מלכי אשׁור׃
30:7	ואל תהיו כאבותיכם וכאחיכם אשׁר מעלו ביהוה אלהי אבותיהם ויתנם לשׁמה כאשׁר אתם ראים׃
30:8	עתה אל תקשׁו ערפכם כאבותיכם תנו יד ליהוה ובאו למקדשׁו אשׁר הקדישׁ לעולם ועבדו את יהוה אלהיכם וישׁב מכם חרון אפו׃
30:9	כי בשׁובכם על יהוה אחיכם ובניכם לרחמים לפני שׁוביהם ולשׁוב לארץ הזאת כי חנון ורחום יהוה אלהיכם ולא יסיר פנים מכם אם תשׁובו אליו׃
30:10	ויהיו הרצים עברים מעיר לעיר בארץ אפרים ומנשׁה ועד זבלון ויהיו משׂחיקים עליהם ומלעגים׃
30:11	אך אנשׁים מאשׁר ומנשׁה ומזבלון נכנעו ויבאו לירושׁלם׃
30:12	גם ביהודה היתה יד האלהים לתת להם לב אחד לעשׂות מצות המלך והשׂרים בדבר יהוה׃
30:13	ויאספו ירושׁלם עם רב לעשׂות את חג המצות בחדשׁ השׁני קהל לרב מאד׃
30:14	ויקמו ויסירו את המזבחות אשׁר בירושׁלם ואת כל המקטרות הסירו וישׁליכו לנחל קדרון׃
30:15	וישׁחטו הפסח בארבעה עשׂר לחדשׁ השׁני והכהנים והלוים נכלמו ויתקדשׁו ויביאו עלות בית יהוה׃
30:16	ויעמדו על עמדם כמשׁפטם כתורת משׁה אישׁ האלהים הכהנים זרקים את הדם מיד הלוים׃
30:17	כי רבת בקהל אשׁר לא התקדשׁו והלוים על שׁחיטת הפסחים לכל לא טהור להקדישׁ ליהוה׃
30:18	כי מרבית העם רבת מאפרים ומנשׁה ישׂשכר וזבלון לא הטהרו כי אכלו את הפסח בלא ככתוב כי התפלל יחזקיהו עליהם לאמר יהוה הטוב יכפר בעד׃
30:19	כל לבבו הכין לדרושׁ האלהים יהוה אלהי אבותיו ולא כטהרת הקדשׁ׃
30:20	וישׁמע יהוה אל יחזקיהו וירפא את העם׃
30:21	ויעשׂו בני ישׂראל הנמצאים בירושׁלם את חג המצות שׁבעת ימים בשׂמחה גדולה ומהללים ליהוה יום ביום הלוים והכהנים בכלי עז ליהוה׃
30:22	וידבר יחזקיהו על לב כל הלוים המשׂכילים שׂכל טוב ליהוה ויאכלו את המועד שׁבעת הימים מזבחים זבחי שׁלמים ומתודים ליהוה אלהי אבותיהם׃
30:23	ויועצו כל הקהל לעשׂות שׁבעת ימים אחרים ויעשׂו שׁבעת ימים שׂמחה׃
30:24	כי חזקיהו מלך יהודה הרים לקהל אלף פרים ושׁבעת אלפים צאן והשׂרים הרימו לקהל פרים אלף וצאן עשׂרת אלפים ויתקדשׁו כהנים לרב׃
30:25	וישׂמחו כל קהל יהודה והכהנים והלוים וכל הקהל הבאים מישׂראל והגרים הבאים מארץ ישׂראל והיושׁבים ביהודה׃
30:26	ותהי שׂמחה גדולה בירושׁלם כי מימי שׁלמה בן דויד מלך ישׂראל לא כזאת בירושׁלם׃
30:27	ויקמו הכהנים הלוים ויברכו את העם וישׁמע בקולם ותבוא תפלתם למעון קדשׁו לשׁמים׃


30:1	And Hezekiah sendeth unto all Israel and Judah, and also letters he hath written unto Ephraim and Manasseh, to come in to the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem, to make a passover to Jehovah, God of Israel.
30:2	And the king taketh counsel, and his heads, and all the assembly in Jerusalem, to make the passover in the second month,
30:3	for they have not been able to make it at that time, for the priests have not sanctified themselves sufficiently, and the people have not been gathered to Jerusalem.
30:4	And the thing is right in the eyes of the king, and in the eyes of all the assembly,
30:5	and they establish the thing, to cause to pass over an intimation into all Israel, from Beer-Sheba even unto Dan, to come in to make a passover to Jehovah, God of Israel, in Jerusalem, for not for a long time had they done as it is written.
30:6	And the runners go with letters from the hand of the king and his heads, into all Israel and Judah, even according to the command of the king, saying, `O sons of Israel, turn back unto Jehovah, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and He doth turn back unto the escaped part that is left of you from the hand of the kings of Asshur;
30:7	and do not be like your fathers, and like your brethren, who trespassed against Jehovah, God of their fathers, and He giveth them to desolation, as ye do see.
30:8	`Now, harden not your neck like your fathers, give a hand to Jehovah, and come in to His sanctuary, that He hath sanctified to the age, and serve Jehovah your God, and the fierceness of His anger doth turn back from you;
30:9	for in your turning back unto Jehovah, your brethren and your sons have mercies before their captors, even to return to this land, for gracious and merciful `is' Jehovah your God, and He doth not turn aside the face from you, if ye turn back unto Him.'
30:10	And the runners are passing over from city to city, in the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, even unto Zebulun: and they are laughing at them, and mocking at them,
30:11	only, certain from Asher, and Manasseh, and from Zebulun, have been humbled, and come in to Jerusalem.
30:12	Also, in Judah hath the hand of God been to give to them one heart to do the command of the king and of the heads, in the matter of Jehovah;
30:13	and much people are gathered to Jerusalem, to make the feast of unleavened things in the second month -- a mighty assembly for multitude.
30:14	And they arise and turn aside the altars that `are' in Jerusalem, and all the perfume altars they have turned aside, and cast `them' to the brook Kidron;
30:15	and they slaughter the passover-offering on the fourteenth of the second month, and the priests and the Levites have been ashamed, and sanctify themselves, and bring in burnt-offerings to the house of Jehovah.
30:16	And they stand on their station according to their ordinance; according to the law of Moses the man of God the priests are sprinkling the blood out of the hand of the Levites,
30:17	for many `are' in the assembly who have not sanctified themselves, and the Levites `are' over the slaughtering of the passover-offerings for every one not clean, to sanctify `him' to Jehovah:
30:18	for a multitude of the people, many from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, have not been cleansed, but have eaten the passover otherwise than it is written; but Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, `Jehovah, who `is' good, doth receive atonement for every one
30:19	who hath prepared his heart to seek God -- Jehovah, God of his fathers -- yet not according to the cleansing of the sanctuary;'
30:20	and Jehovah hearkeneth unto Hezekiah, and healeth the people.
30:21	And the sons of Israel, those found in Jerusalem, make the feast of unleavened things seven days with great joy; and giving praise to Jehovah day by day are the Levites and the priests, with instruments of praise before Jehovah.
30:22	And Hezekiah speaketh unto the heart of all the Levites, those giving good understanding concerning Jehovah, and they eat the appointed thing seven days; sacrificing sacrifices of peace-offerings, and making confession to Jehovah, God of their fathers.
30:23	And all the assembly take counsel to keep other seven days, and they keep seven days `with' joy;
30:24	for Hezekiah king of Judah hath presented to the assembly a thousand bullocks, and seven thousand sheep; and the heads have presented to the assembly bullocks a thousand, and sheep ten thousand; and priests sanctify themselves in abundance.
30:25	And all the assembly of Judah rejoice, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the assembly, those coming in from Israel, and the sojourners, those coming in from the land of Israel, and those dwelling in Judah,
30:26	and there is great joy in Jerusalem; for from the days of Solomon son of David king of Israel there is not like this in Jerusalem,
30:27	and the priests, the Levites, rise and bless the people, and their voice is heard, and their prayer cometh in to His holy habitation, to the heavens.
