13:1Lo, all thys haue I sene with myne eye, heard with myne eare, and vnderstande it.
13:2Loke what ye knowe, that same do I knowe also, nether am I inferior vnto you.
13:3Neuerthelesse, I talke with the almyghtye, and my desire is to comen with God.
13:4As for you, yeare worckmasters of lyes, and vnprofytable Phisicyans all together.
13:5Wold God ye kepte your tonge, for then myght ye be taken for wyse men.
13:6Now heare my chydyng, and pondre the sentence of my lyppes.
13:7Do ye speake iniquite against God? and talke agaynst hym with disceate?
13:8Wyll ye not accepte the person of hym? Or wyll ye contende with God?
13:9Shall that helpe you, when he calleth you to rekeninge. For as one man mocketh another, so do ye mocke hym.
13:10He shall punysh you, and reproue you, yf ye do secretly accept any personne.
13:11Shall he not make you afrayed, when he sheweth hym selfe? Shall not hys terrible feare fall vpon you?
13:12youre remembraunce is lyke vnto a sparke, and youre bodyes lyke the claye.
13:13Holde your tonges for my sake, that I also maye speake, and my sorow shalbe the lesse.
13:14Wherfore do I beare my flesh in my teth, and put my soule in myne handes?
13:15Lo, though he slaye me, yet wyll I put my trust in hym. But I wil reproue myne awne wayes in his sight,
13:16he shall make me whole: and there maye no ypocrite come before hym.
13:17Heare my wordes, and pondre my sayenges with your eares.
13:18Beholde, now haue I prepared my iudgement, and knowe that I shalbe founde ryghteous.
13:19What is he, that wil go to lawe with me? that I maye nowe holde my tonge, and dye.
13:20Neuertheles, graunt me two thynges, and then wyll I not hyde my selfe from the.
13:21Withdrawe thyne hande from me, and let not the fearfull drede of the, make me afrayed.
13:22And then call me, and I wil answere: or els, let me speake, and geue me thou an answere.
13:23How many are my mysdedes & synnes? Lett me knowe my transgressyons and offences?
13:24Wherfore hydest thou thy face, & holdest me for thyne enemye?
13:25Wylt thou be so cruel and extreme vnto a flyeng leafe, and folowe vpon drye stubble?
13:26for thou layest sharpely to my charge, and punysshest me for the synnes of my youth.
13:27Thou puttest my fete also in the stockes: and lokest narowly vnto all my pathes, and marckest the steppes of my fete:
13:28where as I (notwithstandynge) must consume lyke as a foule carion, & as a cloth that is motheaten.

13:2Euene with youre kunnyng also Y kan, and Y am not lowere than ye.
13:3But netheles Y schal speke to Almyyti God, and Y coueite to dispute with God;
13:4and firste Y schewe you makeris of leesyng, and louyeris of weyward techyngis.
13:5And `Y wolde that ye weren stille, that ye weren gessid to be wise men.
13:6Therfor here ye my chastisyngis; and perseyue ye the doom of my lippis.
13:7Whether God hath nede to youre leesyng, that ye speke gilis for hym?
13:8Whether ye taken his face, and enforsen to deme for God?
13:9Ethir it schal plese hym, fro whom no thing mai be hid? Whether he as a man schal be disseyued with youre falsnessis?
13:10He schal repreue you; for ye taken his face in hiddlis.
13:11Anoon as he schal stire hym, he schal disturble you; and his drede schal falle on you.
13:12Youre mynde schal be comparisound to aische; and youre nollis schulen be dryuun in to clei.
13:13Be ye stille a litil, that Y speke, what euer thing the mynde hath schewid to me.
13:14Whi to-rende Y my fleischis with my teeth, and bere my lijf in myn hondis?
13:15Yhe, thouy God sleeth me, Y schal hope in hym; netheles Y schal preue my weies in his siyt.
13:16And he schal be my sauyour; for whi ech ypocrite schal not come in his siyt.
13:17Here ye my word, and perseyue ye with eeris derke and harde figuratif spechis.
13:18Yf Y schal be demed, Y woot that Y schal be foundun iust.
13:19Who is he that is demed with me? Come he; whi am Y stille, and am wastid?
13:20Do thou not to me twei thingis oneli; and thanne Y schal not be hid fro thi face.
13:21Make thin hond fer fro me; and thi drede make not me aferd.
13:22Clepe thou me, and Y schal answere thee; ethir certis Y schal speke, and thou schalt answere me.
13:23Hou grete synnes and wickidnessis haue Y? Schewe thou to me my felonyes, and trespassis.
13:24Whi hidist thou thi face, and demest me thin enemy?
13:25Thou schewist thi myyt ayens a leef, which is rauyschid with the wynd; and thou pursuest drye stobil.
13:26For thou writist bitternessis ayens me; and wolt waste me with the synnes of my yong wexynge age.
13:27Thou hast set my foot in a stok, and thou hast kept alle my pathis; and thou hast biholde the steppis of my feet.
13:28And Y schal be wastid as rot, and as a cloth, which is etun of a mouyte.

13:7Will ye make answere for God with lyes, and mateyne him with disceate?
13:8Wil ye accepte ye personne of God, and intreate for him?
13:9Shal that helpe you, when he calleth you to rekenynge? Thynke ye to begyle him, as a man is begyled?
13:10Punysh you shall he and reproue you, yf ye do secretly accepte eny personne.
13:11Shall he not make you afrayed, when he sheweth himself? Shal not his terrible feare fall vpo you?
13:12youre remembraunce shalbe like the dust, & youre pryde shalbe turned to claye.
13:13Holde youre tonges now, and let me speake, for there is some thinge come in to my mynde.
13:14Wherfore do I beare my flesh in my teth, and my soule in myne hondes?
13:15Lo, there is nether coforte ner hope for me, yf he wil slaye me. But yf I shewe and reproue myne owne wayes in his sight,
13:16he is euen the same, that maketh me whole: and why? there maye no Ypocrite come before him,
13:17Heare my wordes, and pondre my sayenges with youre eares.
13:18Beholde, though sentence were geuen vpon me, I am sure to be knowne for vngilty.
13:19What is he, that will go to lawe with me? For yf I holde my tonge, I shal dye.
13:20Neuerthelesse graunte me ij. thinges, and then will I not hyde my self from the.
13:21Withdrawe thine honde fro me, & let not the fearfull drede of the make me afrayed.
13:22And then sende for me to the lawe, yt I maye answere for my self: or els, let me speake, and geue thou the answere.
13:23How greate are my my?dedes & synnes? Let me knowe my trasgressions & offences.
13:24Wherfore hydest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemye?
13:25Wilt thou be so cruell & extreme vnto a flyenge leaf, and folowe vpon drye stubble?
13:26that thou layest so sharply to my charge, and wilt vtterly vndoo me, for ye synnes of my yougth?
13:27Thou hast put my fote in the stockes: thou lokest narowly vnto all my pathes, & marckest the steppes of my fete:
13:28where as I (notwithstondinge) must consume like as a foule carion, and as a cloth that is moth eaten.
