| 23:1 | Iob aunswered, & said |
| 23:2 | Though my talke be this day in bitternesse, and my plague greater then my groning |
| 23:3 | O that I might know him, and finde him, and that I might come before his seate |
| 23:4 | I woulde pleade my cause before hym, and fill my mouth with argumentes |
| 23:5 | I woulde knowe what aunswere he woulde geue me, and vnderstande what he woulde say vnto me |
| 23:6 | Will he pleade against me with his great power? No, but he will make me the stronger |
| 23:7 | There the righteous might dispute with him, so shoulde I be deliuered for euer from my iudge |
| 23:8 | Behold, though I go forwarde I find him not: If I go backwarde, I can get no knowledge of hym |
| 23:9 | If I go on the left side where he doth his worke, I can not attayne vnto him: Againe, if I go on the right side, he hydeth him selfe that I can not see hym |
| 23:10 | But as for my way, he knoweth it, and tryeth me, that as the gold I may come foorth |
| 23:11 | My foote doth kepe his path, his hie way haue I holden, and will not go out of it |
| 23:12 | I will not forsake the commaundement of his lippes, I haue esteemed the wordes of his mouth more then myne appoynted foode |
| 23:13 | He is still at one poynt, and who can turne him? he doth as him listeth, and bringeth to passe what he will |
| 23:14 | He perfourmeth the thing that is appoynted for me, and many such thinges doth he |
| 23:15 | This is the cause that I shrinke at his presence, so that when I consider him, I am afrayde of hym |
| 23:16 | For God maketh my heart softe, and the almightie putteth me in feare |
| 23:17 | Because I am not cut of before the darkenesse, neither hath he couered the cloude fro my face |

| 23:3 | Would God yet I knew how to finde him, I would enter vnto his place. |
| 23:4 | I would pleade the cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. |
| 23:5 | I would knowe the wordes, that he would answere me, and would vnderstand what he would say vnto me. |
| 23:6 | Would he plead against me with his great power? No, but he would put strength in me. |
| 23:7 | There the righteous might reason with him, so I shoulde be deliuered for euer from my Iudge. |
| 23:8 | Behold, if I go to the East, he is not there: if to the West, yet I can not perceiue him: |
| 23:9 | If to the North where he worketh, yet I cannot see him: he wil hide himselfe in the South, and I cannot beholde him. |
| 23:10 | But he knoweth my way, and trieth mee, and I shall come forth like the gold. |
| 23:11 | My foote hath followed his steps: his way haue I kept, and haue not declined. |
| 23:12 | Neyther haue I departed from the commandement of his lippes, and I haue esteemed the words of his mouth more then mine appointed foode. |
| 23:13 | Yet he is in one minde, and who can turne him? yea, he doeth what his minde desireth. |
| 23:14 | For he will performe that, which is decreed of me, and many such things are with him. |
| 23:15 | Therefore I am troubled at his presence, and in considering it, I am afraid of him. |
| 23:16 | For God hath softened mine heart, and the Almightie hath troubled me. |
| 23:17 | For I am not cut off in darknesse, but he hath hid the darkenesse from my face. |

| 23:2 | My sayinge is yet this daye in bytternes, and my hande heuy because of my gronynge. |
| 23:3 | O that I myght se him, and fynde hym: O that I myght come before his seate, |
| 23:4 | to pleate my cause before him, and to fyll my mouth with argumentes. |
| 23:5 | That I myght knowe, what answere he wolde geue me: and that I myght vnderstande, what he wolde saye vnto me. |
| 23:6 | Wyll he pleate agaynst me with his great power and strength? |
| 23:7 | No, but he wyll make me the stronger. He that is iust, shall entre disputacion with hym, and my iudge shall delyuer me for euer. |
| 23:8 | Beholde, though I go before, I fynde him: If I come behynde, I can get no knowledge of him: |
| 23:9 | Yf I go on the left syde where he doth hys worcke, I cannot atteyne vnto hym. A gayne, yf I go on the ryght syd, he hydeth hym selfe, that I cannot se him. |
| 23:10 | But as for my waye, he knoweth it: and tryeth me as the golde in the fyre. |
| 23:11 | My fote doth kepe his path, his hye waye haue I holden, and will not go out of it. |
| 23:12 | I will not forsake the commaundement of his lippes, but loke what he charged me with his mouth, that haue I shutt vp in my herte. |
| 23:13 | He is styll at one poynt, and who wyll turne him back? He doth as him listeth, and bringeth to passe what he will. |
| 23:14 | He perfourmeth the thynge that is appoynted for me, & many soch thynges doth he. |
| 23:15 | This is the cause that I shrincke at his presence, so that when I consydre hym, I am afrayed of him. |
| 23:16 | For in somoch as he is God, he maketh my herte soft: and seynge that he is Allmyghtie, he putteth me in feare. |
| 23:17 | Thus can not I gett out of darckenesse, nether hath he couered the cloude fro my face. |
