Psalms - Chapter: 10

>
10:1Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
10:2The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
10:3For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
10:4The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
10:5His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
10:6He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
10:7His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
10:8He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
10:9He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
10:10He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
10:11He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
10:12Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
10:13Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
10:14Thou hast seen it: for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
10:15Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
10:16The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
10:17LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
10:18To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

10:1Why, Jehovah, dost Thou stand at a distance? Thou dost hide in times of adversity,
10:2Through the pride of the wicked, Is the poor inflamed, They are caught in devices that they devised.
10:3Because the wicked hath boasted Of the desire of his soul, And a dishonest gainer he hath blessed, He hath despised Jehovah.
10:4The wicked according to the height of his face, inquireth not. `God is not!' `are' all his devices.
10:5Pain do his ways at all times, On high `are' Thy judgments before him, All his adversaries -- he puffeth at them.
10:6He hath said in his heart, `I am not moved,' To generation and generation not in evil.
10:7Of oaths his mouth is full, And deceits, and fraud: Under his tongue `is' perverseness and iniquity,
10:8He doth sit in an ambush of the villages, In secret places he doth slay the innocent. His eyes for the afflicted watch secretly,
10:9He lieth in wait in a secret place, as a lion in a covert. He lieth in wait to catch the poor, He catcheth the poor, drawing him into his net.
10:10He is bruised -- he boweth down, Fallen by his mighty ones hath the afflicted.
10:11He said in his heart, `God hath forgotten, He hath hid His face, He hath never seen.'
10:12Arise, O Jehovah! O God, lift up Thy hand! Forget not the humble.
10:13Wherefore hath the wicked despised God? He hath said in his heart, `It is not required.'
10:14Thou hast seen, For Thou perverseness and anger beholdest; By giving into Thy hand, On Thee doth the afflicted leave `it', Of the fatherless Thou hast been an helper.
10:15Break the arm of the wicked and the evil, Seek out his wickedness, find none;
10:16Jehovah `is' king to the age, and for ever, The nations have perished out of His land!
10:17The desire of the humble Thou hast heard, O Jehovah. Thou preparest their heart; Thou causest Thine ear to attend,
10:18To judge the fatherless and bruised: He addeth no more to oppress -- man of the earth!
