| 31:1 | [To the chiefe Musician, A Psalme of Dauid.] In thee, O Lord, doe I put my trust, let me neuer be ashamed: deliuer me in thy righteousnesse. |
| 31:2 | Bowe downe thine eare to me, deliuer me speedily: be thou my strong rocke, for an house of defence to saue me. |
| 31:3 | For thou art my rocke and my fortresse: therfore for thy names sake lead me, and guide me. |
| 31:4 | Pull me out of the net, that they haue layd priuily for me: for thou art my strength. |
| 31:5 | Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed mee, O Lord God of trueth. |
| 31:6 | I haue hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord. |
| 31:7 | I will be glad, and reioyce in thy mercie: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast knowen my soule in aduersities; |
| 31:8 | And hast not shut me vp into the hand of the enemie: thou hast set my feete in a large roome. |
| 31:9 | Haue mercy vpon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; mine eie is consumed with griefe, yea my soule and my belly. |
| 31:10 | For my life is spent with griefe, and my yeeres with sighing: my strength faileth, because of mine iniquitie, and my bones are consumed. |
| 31:11 | I was a reproch among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a feare to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without, fled from me. |
| 31:12 | I am forgotten as a dead man out of minde: I am like a broken vessell. |
| 31:13 | For I haue heard the slaunder of many, feare was on euery side: while they tooke counsell together against me, they deuised to take away my life. |
| 31:14 | But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I sayd, Thou art my God. |
| 31:15 | My times are in thy hand: deliuer me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. |
| 31:16 | Make thy face to shine vpon thy seruant: saue me for thy mercies sake. |
| 31:17 | Let mee not be ashamed, O Lord, for I haue called vpon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the graue. |
| 31:18 | Let the lying lippes be put to silence: which speake grieuous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. |
| 31:19 | O how great is thy goodnesse, which thou hast layd vp for them that feare thee: which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sonnes of men! |
| 31:20 | Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence, from the pride of man: thou shalt keepe them secretly in a pauilion, from the strife of tongues. |
| 31:21 | Blessed be the Lord; for hee hath shewed me his maruellous kindnesse, in a strong citie. |
| 31:22 | For I sayd in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eies: Neuerthelesse thou heardest the voice of my supplications, when I cryed vnto thee. |
| 31:23 | O loue the Lord, all yee his Saints: for the Lord preserueth the faithfull, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. |
| 31:24 | Be of good courage, and hee shall strenghten your heart: all ye that hope in the Lord. |

| 31:9 | Haue mercie vpon mee, O Lord: for I am in trouble: mine eye, my soule and my bellie are consumed with griefe. |
| 31:10 | For my life is wasted with heauinesse, and my yeeres with mourning: my strength faileth for my paine, and my bones are consumed. |
| 31:11 | I was a reproch among all mine enemies, but specially among my neighbours: and a feare to mine acquaintance, who seeing me in the streete, fled from me. |
| 31:12 | I am forgotten, as a dead man out of minde: I am like a broken vessell. |
| 31:13 | For I haue heard the rayling of great men: feare was on euery side, while they conspired together against mee, and consulted to take my life. |
| 31:14 | But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God. |
| 31:15 | My times are in thine hande: deliuer mee from the hande of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. |
| 31:16 | Make thy face to shine vpon thy seruant, and saue me through thy mercie. |
| 31:17 | Let me not be confounded, O Lord: for I haue called vpon thee: let the wicked bee put to confusion, and to silence in the graue. |
| 31:18 | Let the lying lips be made dumme, which cruelly, proudly and spitefully speake against the righteous. |
| 31:19 | Howe great is thy goodnesse, which thou hast layde vp for them, that feare thee! and done to them, that trust in thee, euen before the sonnes of men! |
| 31:20 | Thou doest hide them priuily in thy presence from the pride of men: thou keepest them secretly in thy Tabernacle from the strife of tongues. |
| 31:21 | Blessed be the Lord: for hee hath shewed his marueilous kindenesse toward me in a strong citie. |
| 31:22 | Though I said in mine haste, I am cast out of thy sight, yet thou heardest the voyce of my prayer, when I cryed vnto thee. |
| 31:23 | Loue ye the Lord all his Saintes: for the Lord preserueth the faithfull, and rewardeth abundantly the proud doer. |
| 31:24 | All ye that trust in the Lord, be strong, and he shall establish your heart. |

| 31:9 | Thou hast not shut me vp in to the hande of the enemye, but hast set my fete in a large rowme. |
| 31:10 | Haue mercy vpon me, O Lorde, for I am in trouble, & myne eye is consumed for very heuynesse, yee my soule & my body. |
| 31:11 | For my lyfe is waxen olde with heuynesse, & my yeares with mournynge. |
| 31:12 | My strength fayleth me because of myne iniquite, and my bones are corrupte. |
| 31:13 | I became a reprofe amonge all myne enemyes, but specially amonge my neyghbours, and they of myne acquayntaunce were afrayed of me: & they that dyd se me without, conueyed them selues fro me. |
| 31:14 | I am cleane forgotten, as a deed man oute of mynde: I am be come lyke a broken vessell. |
| 31:15 | For I haue herde the blasphemy of the multitude: and feare is on euerye syde whyle they conspire together agaynst me, & take ther counsell to take awaye my lyfe. |
| 31:16 | But my hope hath bene in the, O Lorde, I haue sayde: thou art my God. |
| 31:17 | My tyme is in thy hande: delyuer me from the hande of myne enemyes, and from them that persecute me. |
| 31:18 | Shewe thy seruaunt the light of thy countenaunce, and saue me for thy mercyes sake. |
| 31:19 | Let me not be confounded, O Lorde, for I haue called vpon the: let the vngodly be put to confusion, and be put to sylence in the graue. |
| 31:20 | Let the lyenge lyppes be put to sylence, which cruelly, disdainfully, & despitefully, speake against the ryghteous. |
| 31:21 | O howe plentyfull is thy goodnesse, which thou hast layed vp, for them that feare the? and that thou hast prepared for them, the put their trust in the, euen before the sonnes of men? |
| 31:22 | Thou shalt hyde them priuely by thine awne presence from the prouokinges of all men: thou shalt kepe them secretly in thy tabernacle, from the stryfe of tonges. |
| 31:23 | Thankes be to the Lorde, for he hath shewed me maruelous greate kyndnesse in a stronge citie. And when I made hast, I sayde: I am cast out of thy syght. |
| 31:24 | Neuertheles, thou herdest the voyce of my prayer, when I cryed vnto the. O loue the Lorde, all ye his saintes, for the Lorde preserueth them that are faythfull, and plenteously rewardeth he the proude doer. Be stronge, & he shall stablyshe youre hart, all ye that put your trust in the Lorde. |
