| 49:1 | To the chaunter, a Psalme for the chyldren of Corah. O heare this, all ye people: pondre it with your eares, all ye that dwell in the worlde. |
| 49:2 | Hye and lowe, ryche and poore, one wyth another: |
| 49:3 | My mouth shall speake of wysdome, and my hert shall muse of vnderstandyng. |
| 49:4 | I wyll enclyne myne eare to the parable, and shew my darcke speach vpon the harpe. |
| 49:5 | Wherfore shulde I feare in the dayes of wyckednesse, and when the wyckednesse of my heles compaseth me round about? |
| 49:6 | There be some that put theyr in trust their goodes, & boast them selues in the multitude of theyr ryches. |
| 49:7 | But no man maye delyuer hys brother, ner make agrement vnto God for hym. |
| 49:8 | For it costeth more to redeme theyr soules, so that he must let that alone for euer. |
| 49:9 | Yee, though he lyue longe, and se nat the graue. |
| 49:10 | For he seeth, that wyse men also dye, and peryshe together, as well as the ignoraunt & folysh, and leaue theyr ryches for other: |
| 49:11 | And yet they thynke, that theyr houses shall continue for euer, and that theyr dwelling places shall endure from one generacyon to another, & call the landes after theyr awne names. |
| 49:12 | Neuerthelesse, man wyll not abyde in honour, seyng he maye be compared vnto the beastes that peryshe: this is the waye of them. |
| 49:13 | Thys is their folyshnesse, and their posterite prayse their sayeng. Sela. |
| 49:14 | They lye in the hell lyke shepe, death gnaweth vpon them, and the ryghteous shall haue dominacyon of them in the mornynge: theyr bewtye shall consume in the sepulchre out of theyr dwellynge. |
| 49:15 | But God shall delyuer my soule from the place of hell, for he shall receaue me. Sela. |
| 49:16 | Be not thou afrayed though one be made ryche, or yf the glory of hys house be increased. |
| 49:17 | For he shall cary nothyng awaye with hym when he dyeth, nether shall hys pompe folowe hym: |
| 49:18 | For whyle he lyued, he counted hymselfe an happye man: and so longe as thou doest well vnto thy selfe, men wyll speake good of the. |
| 49:19 | He shall folowe the generacyons of hys fathers, and shall neuer se lyght. |
| 49:20 | Man beynge in honoure hath no vnderstandyng, but is compared vnto the beastes, that peryshe. |

| 49:7 | Mi puple, here thou, and Y schal speke to Israel; and Y schal witnesse to thee, Y am God, thi God. |
| 49:8 | I schal not repreue thee in thi sacrifices; and thi brent sacrifices ben euere bifor me. |
| 49:9 | I schal not take calues of thin hows; nethir geet buckis of thi flockis. |
| 49:10 | For alle the wyelde beestis of wodis ben myne; werk beestis, and oxis in hillis. |
| 49:11 | I haue knowe alle the volatils of heuene; and the fairnesse of the feeld is with me. |
| 49:12 | If Y schal be hungry, Y schal not seie to thee; for the world and the fulnesse therof is myn. |
| 49:13 | Whether Y schal eete the fleischis of boolis? ethir schal Y drynke the blood of geet buckis? |
| 49:14 | Offre thou to God the sacrifice of heriyng; and yelde thin avowis to the hiyeste God. |
| 49:15 | And inwardli clepe thou me in the dai of tribulacioun; and Y schal delyuere thee, and thou schalt onoure me. |
| 49:16 | But God seide to the synnere, Whi tellist thou out my riytfulnessis; and takist my testament bi thi mouth? |
| 49:17 | Sotheli thou hatidist lore; and hast cast awey my wordis bihynde. |
| 49:18 | If thou siyest a theef, thou `hast runne with hym; and thou settidist thi part with avowtreris. |
| 49:19 | Thi mouth was plenteuouse of malice; and thi tunge medlide togidere giles. |
| 49:20 | Thou sittynge spakist ayens thi brother, and thou settidist sclaundir ayens the sone of thi modir; |

| 49:10 | For it shal be sene, yt soch wyse me shal dye & perishe together, as well as the ignoraunt and foolish, & leaue their goodes for other. |
| 49:11 | Loke what is in their houses, it cotinueth still: their dwellinge places endure from one generacion to another, & are called after their owne names vpon the earth, |
| 49:12 | Neuerthelesse ma abydeth not insoch honor, but is copared vnto ye brute beastes, & becometh like vnto the. |
| 49:13 | This waie of theirs is very foolishnesse, & yet their posterite prayse it wt their mouth. |
| 49:14 | Sela. They lye in the hell like shepe, death shal gnawe vpon them, & the rightuous shal haue dominacion of them in the mornynge by tymes: their stregth shal consume, & hell shalbe their dwellinge. |
| 49:15 | But God shal deliuer my soule from the power of hell, when he receaueth me. |
| 49:16 | Sela. O be not thou afrayed, whan one is made riche, & the glory of his house increased. |
| 49:17 | For he shal cary nothinge awaye wt him when he dyeth, nether shal his pompe folowe him. |
| 49:18 | Whyle he lyueth, he is counted an happie man: & so loge as he is in prosperite, me speake good of him. |
| 49:19 | But whe he foloweth his fathers generacion, he shal neuer se light eny more. |
| 49:20 | When a man is in honoure and hath no vnderstodinge, he is compared vnto the brute beastes, and becommeth like vnto them. |
