Psalms - Chapter: 68

>
68:1[To the chiefe Musician. A Psalme or song of Dauid.] Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him, flee before him.
68:2As smoke is driuen away, so driue them away: as waxe melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
68:3But let the righteous be glad: let them reioyce before God, yea let them exceedingly reioyce.
68:4Sing vnto God, sing praises to his Name: extoll him that rideth vpon the heauens, by his Name Iah, and reioyce before him.
68:5A father of the fatherlesse, and a iudge of the widowes, is God in his holy habitation.
68:6God setteth the solitary in a families: hee bringeth out those which are bound with chaines, but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
68:7O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people; when thou didst march through the wildernes, Selah.
68:8The earth shooke, the heauens also dropped at the presence of God: euen Sinai it selfe was mooued at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
68:9Thou, O God, didst send a plentifull raine, whereby thou didst confirme thine inheritance, when it was weary.
68:10Thy Congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodnesse for the poore.
68:11The Lord gaue the word: great was the company of those that published it.
68:12Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that taried at home, diuided the spoile.
68:13Though ye haue lien among the pots, yet shall yee bee as the wings of a doue, couered with siluer, and her feathers with yellow gold.
68:14When the Almighty scattered Kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.
68:15The hil of God is as the hill of Bashan, an high hill as the hill of Bashan.
68:16Why leape ye, ye high hilles? this is the Hil which God desireth to dwell in, yea the Lord will dwel in it for euer.
68:17The chariots of God are twentie thousand, euen thousands of Angels: the Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the holy place.
68:18Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast ledde captiuitie captiue, thou hast receiued giftes for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.
68:19Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth vs with benefits, euen the God of our saluation. Selah.
68:20Hee that is our God, is the God of saluation; and vnto God the Lord belong the issues from death.
68:21But God shall wound the head of his enemies: and the hairy scalpe of such a one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
68:22The Lord said, I will bring againe from Bashan, I will bring my people againe from the depthes of the sea:
68:23That thy foote may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogges in the same.
68:24They haue seene thy goings, O God, euen the goings of my God, my King, in the Sanctuarie.
68:25The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; amongst them were the damosels playing with timbrels.
68:26Blesse yee God, in the Congregations, euen the Lord, from the fountaine of Israel.
68:27There is little Beniamin with their ruler, the princes of Iudah and their Councill, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
68:28Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for vs.
68:29Because of thy Temple at Ierusalem, shall kings bring presents vnto thee.
68:30Rebuke the company of spearemen, the multitude of the bulles, with the calues of the people, till euery one submit himselfe with pieces of siluer: scatter thou the people that delite in warre.
68:31Princes shall come out of Egypt, Ethiopia shall soone stretch out her hands vnto God.
68:32Sing vnto God, yee kingdomes of the earth: O sing praises vnto the Lord, Selah:
68:33To him that rideth vpon the heauens of heauens, which were of olde: loe, hee doeth send out his voice, and that a mightie voice.
68:34Ascribe yee strength vnto God: his excellencie is ouer Israel, and his strength is in the cloudes.
68:35O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giueth strength, and power vnto his people: blessed be God.

 

68:1In case the Lorde woulde aryse, his enemies woulde be scattered: and they that hate hym woulde flee from his face
68:2Lyke as the smoke vanisheth, so wylt thou cause them to vanishe away: and lyke as water melteth at the fire, so wyll the vngodly perishe at the presence of the Lorde
68:3But the ryghteous must be glad, and reioyce before the Lorde: they shall not stande styll for myrth
68:4Syng vnto the Lorde, syng psalmes vnto his name: magnifie hym that rideth vpon the heauens as it were vpon an horse in his name euerlastyng, and reioyce before his face
68:5He is a father of the fatherlesse, and the iudge of widdowes: he is the Lord in his holy habitation
68:6He is the Lord that maketh those that dwell alone to haue a familie: and bryngeth prisoners out of the stockes
68:7But rebelles did inhabite a dry ground O Lorde, when thou wentest foorth before the people: when thou wentest through the wyldernesse. Selah
68:8The earth shoke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of the Lorde: euen Sinai it selfe shoke at the presence of the Lorde, Lorde of Israel
68:9Thou O Lorde dydst cause rayne to fall at thy gratious pleasure: and when thine inheritaunce was weery, thou dydst hearten it
68:10Thy flocke dwelleth there: for thou O Lorde doest of thy goodnesse prepare for the poore
68:11The Lorde gaue the worde: great was the company of the preachers
68:12Kynges with their armies dyd flee: they dyd flee, and the ornament of an house deuided the spoyle
68:13Though ye haue lyen among the pottes: yet shall ye be as the wynges of a doue that is couered with siluer, and hath her fethers as yelowe as golde
68:14When the almightie scattered kynges in it: it was as whyte as snowe in Salmon
68:15As the hyll of Basan, so is Gods hill: euen an hygh hyll, as the hyll of Basan
68:16Why skyp you so the high hylles? this is the Lordes hyll in the which it pleaseth hym to dwell, yea God wyll abyde in it for euer
68:17The charettes of the Lorde are twentie thousande, euen thousandes of angels: and the Lorde is among them in holy Sinai
68:18Thou wenst vp on high, thou hast led captiuitie captiue, thou hast receaued gyftes for men: yea euen for those that be disobedient, that God the Lorde myght dwell [among them,
68:19Blessed be the Lorde who day by day powreth his benefites vpon vs: and is God of our saluation. Selah
68:20The Lorde is our Lorde for to saue vs: and all maner of wayes for death pertayneth to God the Lorde
68:21God wyll wounde the head of his enemies: and the heary scalpe of hym who goeth on styll in his wickednesse
68:22The Lorde hath sayde, I wyll bryng my people agayne out from Basan: I wyll bryng them agayne out from the deepe of the sea
68:23That thy footes and the tongue of thy dogges: may be made redde in the blood of the enemies by his meanes
68:24They do well see O Lorde thy goynges: thy goynges in the sanctuarie my Lorde and kyng
68:25The singers go before, the minstrelles folowe after: in the myddest are the damselles playing with the timbrelles
68:26In the congregations they do blesse the Lorde: the God of the fountayne of Israel
68:27There is litle Beniamin their ruler, & the princes of Iehuda their counsell: the princes of Zabulon and the princes of Nepthali
68:28Thy Lord hath ordeyned thy strength: establishe the thing O Lorde that thou hast wrought in vs
68:29For thy temple sake at Hierusalem: kynges wyll bryng presentes vnto thee
68:30Put to rebuke the companie of speare men, a multitude of bulles amongest the people lyke vnto calues: vntyll that they brought vnder foote come with peeces of siluer for tribute, scatter the people that delyght in warre
68:31Then shal princes come out of Egypt: Ethiopia in all haste shall stretch out her handes vnto the Lorde
68:32Sing vnto the Lord O ye kingdomes of the earth: O syng psalmes vnto the Lorde. Selah
68:33Who rydeth vpon the most hyghest eternall heauens: lo he sendeth out a mightie voyce in his voyce
68:34Acknowledge the Lorde to be mightie: his maiestie is ouer Israel, & might in the cloudes
68:35O Lorde thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel geueth myght and strength vnto his people, Blessed be the Lorde

 

68:1To him that excelleth. A Psalme or song of David. God will arise, and his enemies shalbe scattered: they also that hate him, shall flee before him.
68:2As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou driue them away: and as waxe melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.
68:3But the righteous shalbe glad, and reioyce before God: yea, they shall leape for ioye.
68:4Sing vnto God, and sing prayses vnto his name: exalt him that rideth vpon the heauens, in his Name Iah, and reioyce before him.
68:5He is a Father of the fatherlesse, and a Iudge of the widowes, euen God in his holy habitation.
68:6God maketh the solitarie to dwell in families, and deliuereth them that were prisoners in stocks: but the rebellious shall dwell in a dry land.
68:7O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people: when thou wentest through the wildernesse, (Selah)
68:8The earth shooke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of this God: euen Sinai was moued at the presence of God, euen the God of Israel.
68:9Thou, O God, sendest a gracious raine vpon thine inheritance, and thou didest refresh it when it was wearie.
68:10Thy Congregation dwelled therein: for thou, O God, hast of thy goodnesse prepared it for the poore.
68:11The Lord gaue matter to the women to tell of the great armie.
68:12Kings of the armies did flee: they did flee, and she that remained in the house, deuided the spoyle.
68:13Though ye haue lien among pots, yet shall ye be as the winges of a doue that is couered with siluer, and whose fethers are like yelowe golde.
68:14When the Almightie scattered Kings in it, it was white as the snowe in Zalmon.
68:15The mountaine of God is like the mountaine of Bashan: it is an high Mountaine, as mount Bashan.
68:16Why leape ye, ye high mountaines? as for this Mountaine, God deliteth to dwell in it: yea, the Lord will dwell in it for euer.
68:17The charets of God are twentie thousande thousand Angels, and the Lord is among them, as in the Sanctuarie of Sinai.
68:18Thou art gone vp on high: thou hast led captiuitie captiue, and receiued giftes for men: yea, euen the rebellious hast thou led, that the Lord God might dwell there.
68:19Praysed be the Lord, euen the God of our saluation, which ladeth vs dayly with benefites. Selah.
68:20This is our God, euen the God that saueth vs: and to the Lord God belong the issues of death.
68:21Surely God will wound the head of his enemies, and the hearie pate of him that walketh in his sinnes.
68:22The Lord hath sayde, I will bring my people againe from Bashan: I will bring them againe from the depths of the Sea:
68:23That thy foote may bee dipped in blood, and the tongue of thy dogges in the blood of the enemies, euen in it.
68:24They haue seene, O God, thy goings, the goings of my God, and my King, which art in the Sanctuarie.
68:25The singers went before, the players of instruments after: in the middes were the maides playing with timbrels.
68:26Praise yee God in the assemblies, and the Lord, ye that are of the fountaine of Israel.
68:27There was litle Beniamin with their ruler, and the princes of Iudah with their assemblie, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
68:28Thy God hath appointed thy strength: stablish, O God, that, which thou hast wrought in vs,
68:29Out of thy Temple vpon Ierusalem: and Kings shall bring presents vnto thee.
68:30Destroy the company of the spearemen, and multitude of the mightie bulles with the calues of the people, that tread vnder feete pieces of siluer: scatter the people that delite in warre.
68:31Then shall the princes come out of Egypt: Ethiopia shall hast to stretche her hands vnto God.
68:32Sing vnto God, O yee kingdomes of the earth: sing praise vnto the Lord, (Selah)
68:33To him that rideth vpon ye most high heauens, which were from the beginning: beholde, he will send out by his voice a mightie sound.
68:34Ascribe the power to God: for his maiestie is vpon Israel, and his strength is in the cloudes.
68:35O God, thou art terrible out of thine holie places: the God of Israel is hee that giueth strength and power vnto the people: praised be God.
