83:1A songe and Psalme of Asaph. Holde not thy tonge, O God, kepe not styll sylence, refrayne not thy self O God.
83:2For lo thyne enemyes make a murmurynge, and they that hate the haue lyft vp their heade.
83:3They haue ymagyned craftely agaynst thy people, and taken councell agaynst thy secrete ones.
83:4They haue sayde: come, & let vs rote them out that they be nomore a people, & that the name of Israel maye be nomore in remembraunce.
83:5For they haue cast their heades together wyth one consent, and are confederate agaynst the.
83:6The tabernacles of the Edomites and Ismaelytes, the Moabytes and Hagarenes.
83:7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalech: the Philistynes with them that dwell at Tyre.
83:8Assur also is ioyned vnto them, and haue helped the chyldren of Loth. Sela.
83:9But do thou to them as vnto the Madianites, vnto Sisera, and vnto Iabin at the broke of Kyson.
83:10Whych peryshed at Endor, and became as the donge of the earth.
83:11Make them & their prynces lyke Oreb and Zeb. Yee, make all their Prynces lyke as Zebea and Salinana.
83:12Whych saye: let vs take to oure selues the houses of God in possessyon.
83:13O my God, make them lyke vnto a whele, and as the stubble before the wynde.
83:14Lyke as a fyre that burneth vp the wod, and as the flame that consumeth the mountaynes.
83:15Persecute them euen so with thy tempest, and make them afrayed wyth thy storme.
83:16Make their faces ashamed, O Lorde, that they maye seke thy name.
83:17Let them be confounded and vexed euer more and more: let them be put to shame and perish.
83:18And they shall know, that thou (whose name is Iehoua) art only the moost hyest ouer all the earth.

83:2Lord of vertues, thi tabernaclis ben greetli loued;
83:3my soule coueitith, and failith in to the porchis of the Lord. Myn herte and my fleische; ful out ioyeden in to quyk God.
83:4For whi a sparewe fyndith an hous to it silf; and a turtle fyndith a neste to it silf, where it `schal kepe hise bryddis. Lord of vertues, thin auteris; my king, and my God.
83:5Lord, blessid ben thei that dwellen in thin hous; thei schulen preise thee in to the worldis of worldis.
83:6Blessid is the man, whos help is of thee; he hath disposid stiyngis in his herte,
83:7in the valei of teeris, in the place which he hath set.
83:8For the yyuer of the lawe schal yyue blessyng, thei schulen go fro vertu in to vertu; God of goddis schal be seyn in Sion.
83:9Lord God of vertues, here thou my preier; God of Jacob, perseyue thou with eeris.
83:10God, oure defender, biholde thou; and biholde in to the face of thi crist.
83:11For whi o dai in thin hallis is bettere; than a thousynde. I chees to be `an out cast in the hous of my God; more than to dwelle in the tabernaclis of synneris.
83:12For God loueth merci and treuthe; the Lord schal yyue grace and glorie.
83:13He schal not depriue hem fro goodis, that gon in innocence; Lord of vertues, blessid is the man, that hopith in thee.

83:18That they maye knowe, that thou art alone, that thy name is the LORDE, and that thou only art the most hyest ouer all the earth.
