Psalms - Chapter: 82

82:1A Psalme of Asaph. God standeth in the congregacyon of prynces: he is Iudge amonge Goddes.
82:2How longe will ye geue wrong iudgement, and accepte the personnes of the vngodly? Sela.
82:3Defende the poore and fatherlesse, se that soch as be in nede and necessite haue ryght.
82:4Delyuer the out caste & poore: saue them from the hande of the vngodly.
82:5They wyll not be lerned ner vnderstande, but walcke on styll in darcknesse: all the foundacyons of the erth be out of course.
82:6I haue sayde. ye are Goddes, and ye all are chyldren of the moost hyest.
82:7But ye shall dye lyke men, and fall lyke one of the prynces.
82:8Aryse, O God, and iudge thou the earth, for thou shalt take all Heathen to thine enheritaunce.

 

82:1The title of the two and eiytetithe salm. The song of the salm of Asaph.
82:2God, who schal be lijk thee? God, be thou not stille, nether be thou peesid.
82:3For lo! thin enemyes sowneden; and thei that haten thee reisiden the heed.
82:4Thei maden a wickid counsel on thi puple; and thei thouyten ayens thi seyntis.
82:5Thei seiden, Come ye, and leese we hem fro the folk; and the name of Israel be no more hadde in mynde.
82:6For thei thouyten with oon acord;
82:7the tabernaclis of Ydumeys, and men of Ismael disposiden a testament togidere ayens thee. Moab, and Agarenus, Jebal, and Amon, and Amalech;
82:8alienys with hem that dwellen in Tyre.

82:3Sela. Defende the poore & fatherlesse, se that soch as be in nede & necessite haue right.
82:4Delyuer the outcaste & poore, & saue hym from the hande of the vngodly.
82:5Neuertheles, they wil not be lerned & vnderstonde, but walke on still in darcknesse: therfore must all the foundacions of the londe be moued.
82:6I haue sayde: ye are goddes, ye all are the childre of ye most hyest.
82:7But ye shal dye like men, & fall like one of the tyrauntes.
82:8Aryse (o God) & iudge thou the earth, for all Heithen are thine by enheritaunce.
