Psalms - Chapter: 85

>
85:1[To the chiefe musician, a Psalme for the sonnes of Korah.] Lord, thou hast bene fauourable vnto thy land: thou hast brought backe the captiuity of Iacob.
85:2Thou hast forgiuen the iniquitie of thy people, thou hast couered all their sinne. Selah.
85:3Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thy selfe from the fiercenesse of thine anger.
85:4Turne vs, O God of our saluation: and cause thine anger towards vs to cease.
85:5Wilt thou be angry with vs for euer? wilt thou drawe out thine anger to all generations?
85:6Wilt thou not reuiue vs againe: that thy people may reioyce in thee?
85:7Shew vs thy mercy, O Lord; and graunt vs thy saluation.
85:8I will heare what God the Lord will speake: for hee will speake peace vnto his people, and to his Saints: but let them not turne againe to folly.
85:9Surely his saluation is nigh them that feare him; that glory may dwell in our land.
85:10Mercy and truth are met together: righteousnesse and peace haue kissed each other.
85:11Truth shall spring out of the earth: and righteousnesse shall looke downe from heauen.
85:12Yea the Lord shall giue that which is good: and our land shall yeeld her increase.
85:13Righteousnes shall go before him: and shall set vs in the way of his steps.

 

85:1O God, thou art become gracious vnto thy land: thou hast brought Iacob agayne home out of captiuitie
85:2Thou hast forgeuen the wickednes of thy people: and couered all their sinnes. Selah
85:3Thou hast taken away al thy displeasure: and turned thy selfe from thy wrathfull indignation
85:4Turne vs O God of our saluation: and let thyne anger ceasse from vs
85:5Wilt thou be displeased at vs for euer? and wylt thou stretche out thy wrath from one generation to another
85:6Wylt thou not turne agayne and reuiue vs: that thy people may reioyce in thee
85:7Shew vs thy louing kindnes O God: and graunt vs thy saluation
85:8I wyll hearken what God the Lord saith: for he speaketh peace vnto his people & to his saintes, that they turne not agayne to folly
85:9For truely his saluation is nye them that feare him: insomuch that glory dwelleth in our earth
85:10Mercy and trueth are met together: righteousnes and peace haue kissed [eche other.
85:11Trueth shall bud out of the earth: and ryghteousnes shall looke downe from heauen
85:12Yea, God shall geue all that is good: and our earth shall geue her encrease
85:13Euery man shall cause righteousnes to go before him: and he shall direct his steppes in the way

 

85:1To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Lord, thou hast bene fauourable vnto thy land: thou hast brought againe the captiuitie of Iaakob.
85:2Thou hast forgiuen the iniquitie of thy people, and couered all their sinnes. Selah.
85:3Thou hast withdrawen all thine anger, and hast turned backe from the fiercenes of thy wrath.
85:4Turne vs, O God of our saluation, and release thine anger toward vs.
85:5Wilt thou be angry with vs for euer? and wilt thou prolong thy wrath from one generation to another?
85:6Wilt thou not turne againe and quicken vs, that thy people may reioyce in thee?
85:7Shew vs thy mercie, O Lord, and graunt vs thy saluation.
85:8I will hearken what the Lord God will say: for he will speake peace vnto his people, and to his Saintes, that they turne not againe to follie.
85:9Surely his saluation is neere to them that feare him, that glory may dwell in our land.
85:10Mercie and trueth shall meete: righteousnes and peace shall kisse one another.
85:11Trueth shall bud out of the earth, and righteousnes shall looke downe from heauen.
85:12Yea, the Lord shall giue good things, and our land shall giue her increase.
85:13Righteousnesse shall go before him, and shall set her steps in the way.
