Psalms - Chapter: 104

>
104:1Prayse the Lord O my soule: O Lord my God, thou art become exceadynge glorious, thou art clothed with maiesty and honoure.
104:2Thou deckest thy selfe with lyght, as it were with a garment, and spredest out the heauens lyke a curtayne.
104:3Which layeth the beames of his chambers in the waters, & maketh the cloudes his charet, & walketh vpon the wynges of the wynde.
104:4He maketh his angels spretes, and his mynisters a flamynge fyre.
104:5He layed the foundacyon of the earth, that it neuer shulde moue at eny tyme.
104:6Thou coueredst it wt the depe lyke as wyth a garment: the waters stande in the hylles.
104:7At thy rebuke they flye, at the voyce of thy thonder they are afrayed.
104:8They go vp as hye as the hylles, and downe to the valleys beneth: euen vnto the place, which thou hast appoynted for them.
104:9Thou hast set them their boundes, which they shall not passe: nether turne agayne to couer the earth.
104:10He sendeth the springes into the ryuers, which runne among the hylles.
104:11All beastes of the felde dryncke therof: and the wylde asses quench theyr thyrste.
104:12Besyde them shall the foules of the ayre haue theyr habitacyon, & synge amonge the braunches.
104:13He watreth the hylles from aboue, the earth is fylled wyth the frute of thy worckes.
104:14He bryngeth forth grasse for the cattell, and grene herbe for the seruice of men:
104:15that he maye brynge fode out of the earth: and wyne that maketh glad the herte of man, and oyle to make him a chearfull countenaunce, and bred to strength mans herte.
104:16The trees of the Lord also are full of sappe, euen the Cedres of Libanus which he hath planted.
104:17Wherin the byrdes make their nestes, and the fyrre trees are a dwellyng for the storcke.
104:18The hye hilles are a refuge for the wilde goates, and so are the stony rockes for the conyes.
104:19He appoynted the Moone for certayne seasons, and the Sunne knoweth hys goynge downe.
104:20Thou makest darcknesse, that it maye be night, wherin all the beastes of the forest do moue.
104:21The lyons roaring after their praye to seke theyr meate at God.
104:22The sunne aryseth, and they get them awaye together, and lye them downe in their dennes.
104:23Man goeth forth to his worcke, and to hys laboure vntyll the euenyng.
104:24O Lorde, how manifolde are thy worckes? in wysdome hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy ryches.
104:25So is this greate and wyde see also, wherin are thynges crepynge innumerable, both small and greate beastes.
104:26There go the shippes, and there is that Leuiathan, whom thou hast made, to take hys pastyme therin.
104:27These wayte all vpon the, that thou mayest geue them meate in due season.
104:28When thou geuest it them, they gather it: and when thou openest thyne hand, they are fylled with good.
104:29When thou hydest thy face, they are troubled: whan thou takest awaye their breth, they dye, and are turned agayne to their dust.
104:30When thou lettest thy breth goo forth, they shalbe mad, and thou shalt renue the face of the earth.
104:31The glorious maiesty of the Lord shall endure for euer, the Lorde shall reioyse in hys worckes.
104:32The earth shall tremble at the loke of hym: yf he do but touch the hylles, they shall smoke.
104:33I wyll synge vnto the Lorde as longe as I lyue, I will prayse my God whyle I haue my beynge.
104:34And so shall my wordes please him: my ioye shalbe in the Lorde.
104:35As for synners, they shalbe consumed out of the earth, and the vngodly shall come to an ende: prayse thou the Lorde, O my soule. Prayse the Lorde.

 

104:1The title of the hundrid and fourthe salm. Alleluya. Knouleche ye to the Lord, and inwardli clepe ye his name; telle ye hise werkis among hethen men.
104:2Synge ye to hym, and seie ye salm to him, and telle ye alle hise merueylis;
104:3be ye preisid in his hooli name. The herte of men sekynge the Lord be glad;
104:4seke ye the Lord, and be ye confermed; seke ye euere his face.
104:5Haue ye mynde on hise merueilis, whiche he dide; on his grete wondris, and domes of his mouth.
104:6The seed of Abraham, his seruaunt; the sones of Jacob, his chosun man.
104:7He is oure Lord God; hise domes ben in al the erthe.
104:8He was myndeful of his testament in to the world; of the word which he comaundide in to a thousynde generaciouns.
104:9Which he disposide to Abraham; and of his ooth to Isaac.
104:10And he ordeynede it to Jacob in to a comaundement; and to Israel in to euerlastinge testament.
104:11And he seide, I shal yiue to thee the lond of Canaan; the cord of youre eritage.
104:12Whanne thei weren in a litil noumbre; and the comelingis of hem weren ful fewe.
104:13And thei passiden fro folk in to folk; and fro a rewme in to another puple.
104:14He lefte not a man to anoye hem; and he chastiside kyngis for hem.
104:15Nile ye touche my cristis; and nyle ye do wickidli among my prophetis.
104:16And God clepide hungir on erthe; and he wastide al the stidefastnesse of breed.
104:17He sente a man bifore hem; Joseph was seeld in to a seruaunt.
104:18Thei maden lowe hise feet in stockis, irun passide by his soule; til the word of him cam.
104:19The speche of the Lord enflawmede him;
104:20the king sente and vnbond hym; the prince of puplis sente and delyuerede him.
104:21He ordeynede him the lord of his hous; and the prince of al his possessioun.
104:22That he schulde lerne hise princis as him silf; and that he schulde teche hise elde men prudence.
104:23And Israel entride in to Egipt; and Jacob was a comeling in the lond of Cham.
104:24And God encreesside his puple greetli; and made hym stidefast on hise enemyes.
104:25He turnede the herte of hem, that thei hatiden his puple; and diden gile ayens hise seruauntis.
104:26He sent Moises, his seruaunt; thilke Aaron, whom he chees.
104:27He puttide in hem the wordis of hise myraclis; and of hise grete wondris in the lond of Cham.
104:28He sente derknessis, and made derk; and he made not bitter hise wordis.
104:29He turnede the watris of hem in to blood; and he killide the fischis of hem.
104:30And the lond of hem yaf paddoks; in the priue places of the kyngis of hem.
104:31God seide, and a fleische flie cam; and gnattis in alle the coostis of hem.
104:32He settide her reynes hail; fier brennynge in the lond of hem.
104:33And he smoot the vynes of hem, and the fige trees of hem; and al to-brak the tree of the coostis of hem.
104:34He seide, and a locuste cam; and a bruk of which was noon noumbre.
104:35And it eet al the hey in the lond of hem; and it eet al the fruyt of the lond of hem.

104:3Thou voltest it aboue with waters, thou makest the cloudes thy charet, and goest vpon the wynges of the wynde.
104:4Thou makest thine angels spretes, and thy ministers flammes of fyre.
104:5Thou hast layed ye earth vpon hir foundacion, that it neuer moueth at eny tyme.
104:6Thou couerest it with the depe like as with a garmet, so that the waters stonde aboue the hilles.
104:7But at thy rebuke they fle, at the voyce of thy thonder they are afrayed.
104:8Then are the hilles sene alofte, & the valleys beneth in their place which thou hast appoynted for the.
104:9Thou hast set them their boundes, which they maie not passe, that they turne not agayne to couer ye earth.
104:10Thou causest the welles to sprynge vp amonge the valleys, and the waters runne amonge ye hilles.
104:11That all the beastes of the felde maye haue drynke, & that the wylde asses maye quench their thyrste.
104:12Aboue vpon the hilles haue the foules of the ayre their habitacion, and synge amonge the braunches.
104:13Thou watrest the hylles from aboue, the erth is fylled with ye frutes of thy workes.
104:14Thou bryngest forth grasse for the catell, and grene herbe for the seruyce of men.
104:15Thou bryngest fode out of the earth: wyne to make glad ye herte of ma, oyle to make him a chearfull countenaunce, & bred to strength mans herte.
104:16The trees of the LORDE are full of sappe, euen the trees of Libanus which he hath planted.

104:22But when the Sonne ariseth, they get them awaye together, and lye them downe in their dennes.
104:23Then goeth man forth to his worke, and to till his londe vntill the euenynge.
104:24O LORDE, how manifolde are thy workes, right wysely hast thou made the all: yee the earth is full of thy riches.
104:25So is this greate and wyde see also, wherin are thinges crepinge innumerable, both small and greate beastes.
104:26There go the shippes ouer, and there is that Leuiathan, whom thou hast made, to take his pastyme therin.
104:27They wayte all vpo the, that thou mayest geue them meate in due season.
104:28Whe thou geuest it them, they gather it: whe thou openest thine honde, they are fylled with good.
104:29But when thou hydest thy face, they are soroufull: yf thou takest awaye their breth, they dye, & are turned agayne to their dust.
104:30Agayne, when thou lattest thy breth go forth, they are made, and so thou renuest the face of the earth.
104:31The glorious magesty of the LORDE endureth for euer, and the LORDE reioyseth in his workes.
104:32The earth trebleth at the loke of him, he doth but touch ye hilles and they smoke.
104:33I will synge vnto the LORDE as longe as I lyue, I wil prayse my God whyle I haue my beinge.
104:34O that my wordes might please him, for my ioye is in the LORDE.
104:35As for synners, they shalbe cosumed out of the earth, and the vngodly shal come to an ende: but prayse thou the LORDE, o my soule. Halleluya.
