>
105:1O geue thankes vnto the Lorde, and cal vpon hys name: tell the people, what thynges he hath done.
105:2O let your songes be of hym: and prayse hym, and let youre talkynge be of all hys wonderous worckes.
105:3Reioyse in his holy name, let the hert of them reioyse, that seke the Lorde.
105:4Seke the Lord, and his strength, seke his face euermore.
105:5Remembre the maruelous worckes that he hath done, his wonders and the iudgmentes of his mouth.
105:6O ye sede of Abraham his seruaunt, ye chyldren of Iacob his chosen.
105:7He is the Lorde oure God: his iudgementes are in all the worlde.
105:8He hath bene alwaye myndfull of hys couenaunt, and promyse that he made to a thousand generacions.
105:9Euen the couenaunt that he made with Abraham, and the ooth that he sware vnto Isahac.
105:10And apoynted the same vnto Iacob for a lawe, and to Israel for an euerlastynge testament.
105:11Sayenge: vnto the wyll I geue the lande of Canaan, the lot of youre inherytaunce.
105:12When there was yet but a fewe of them, and they straungers in the lande.
105:13What tyme as they went from one nacion to another, from one kyngdome to another people.
105:14He suffred no man to do them wrong, but reproued euen kynges for their sakes.
105:15Touch not myne anoynted, & do my prophetes no harme.
105:16Morouer, he called for a darth vpon the lande, and destroyed all the prouisyon of bread.
105:17But he had sent a man before them, euen Ioseph whych was solde to be a bonde seruaunt.
105:18Whose fete they hurt in the stockes the yron entred into his soule.
105:19Untill the tyme came that his cause was knowne, the worde of the Lord tryed him.
105:20The kyng sent and delyuered him: the prince of the people let him go fre.
105:21He made him Lorde also his of house, and ruler of all his substaunce.
105:22That he might enfourme his princes after his will, & teach his Senatours wysdome.
105:23Israel also came into Egypte, and Iacob was a straunger in the land of Ham.
105:24And he increased his people exceadingly, and made them stronger then their enemies.
105:25Whose hert turned, so that they hated his people, & dealt vntruly with his seruauntes.
105:26Then sent he Moses his seruaunt, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.
105:27And these shewed his tokens amonge them, and wonders in the lande of Ham.
105:28He sent darcknesse, & it was darcke, and they were not obedyent vnto hys worde.
105:29He turned theyr waters into bloude, and slewe their fyshe.
105:30Their land brought forth frogges, yee euen in their kynges chambers.
105:31He spake the worde, and their came all maner of flyes, and lyce in all their quarters.
105:32He gaue them hayle stones for rayne, and flammes of fyre in their lande.
105:33He smote these vines also and fyge trees, & destroyed the trees that were in their coastes.
105:34He spake the worde, and the greshoppers came, & catyrpyllers innumerable.
105:35And dyd eate vp all the grasse in their land, and deuoured the frute of their grounde.
105:36He smote all the fyrst borne in their lande, euen the chefe of all theyr strength.
105:37He brought them forth also wt syluer and golde, there was not one feble persone among their trybes.
105:38Egypte was glad at their departyng, for they were afrayed of them.
105:39He spred out a cloude to be a coueryng, and fyre to geue lyght in the nightceason.
105:40At their desyre, he brought quayles, and he fylled them with the bread of heauen.
105:41He opened the rocke of stone, and the waters flowed out: so that ryuers ranne in the drye places.
105:42For why? he remembred hys holy promes, and Abraham his seruaunt.
105:43And he brought forth his people with ioye, and his chosen wt gladnesse.
105:44And gaue them the landes of the Heathen, and they toke the labours of the people in possessyon.
105:45That they myght kepe hys statutes, and obserue hys lawes. Prayse the Lorde.

 

105:1The `title of the hundrid and fifthe salm. Alleluya. Kouleche ye to the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy is with outen ende.
105:2Who schal speke the powers of the Lord; schal make knowun alle hise preisyngis?
105:3Blessid ben thei that kepen dom; and doon riytfulnesse in al tyme.
105:4Lord, haue thou mynde on vs in the good plesaunce of thi puple; visite thou vs in thin heelthe.
105:5To se in the goodnesse of thi chosun men, to be glad in the gladnes of thi folk; that thou be heried with thin eritage.
105:6We han synned with oure fadris; we han do vniustli, we han do wickidnesse.
105:7Oure fadris in Egipt vndirstoden not thi merueils; thei weren not myndeful of the multitude of thi merci. And thei stiynge in to the see, in to the reed see, terreden to wraththe;
105:8and he sauede hem for his name, that `he schulde make knowun his power.
105:9And he departide the reed see, and it was dried; and he lede forth hem in the depthis of watris as in deseert.
105:10And he sauede hem fro the hond of hateris; and he ayen bouyte hem fro the hond of the enemye.
105:11And the watir hilide men troublynge hem; oon of hem abood not.
105:12And thei bileueden to hise wordis; and thei preisiden the heriynge of hym.
105:13Thei hadden `soone do, thei foryaten hise werkis; and thei abididen not his councel.
105:14And thei coueitiden coueitise in deseert; and temptiden God in a place with out watir.
105:15And he yaf to hem the axyng of hem; and he sente fulnesse in to the soulis of hem.
105:16And thei wraththiden Moyses in the castels; Aaron, the hooli of the Lord.
105:17The erthe was opened, and swolewid Datan; and hilide on the congregacioun of Abiron.
105:18And fier brente an hiye in the synagoge of hem; flawme brente synneris.
105:19And thei maden a calf in Oreb; and worschipiden a yotun ymage.
105:20And thei chaungiden her glorie; in to the liknesse of a calf etynge hei.
105:21Thei foryaten God, that sauede hem, that dide grete werkis in Egipt,
105:22merueils in the lond of Cham; feerdful thingis in the reed see.
105:23And God seide, that he wolde leese hem; if Moises, his chosun man, hadde not stonde in the brekyng of his siyt. That he schulde turne awei his ire; lest he loste hem.
105:24And thei hadden the desirable lond for nouyt, thei bileueden not to his word, and thei grutchiden in her tabernaclis;
105:25thei herden not the vois of the Lord.
105:26And he reiside his hond on hem; to caste doun hem in desert.
105:27And to caste awei her seed in naciouns; and to leese hem in cuntreis.
105:28And thei maden sacrifice to Belfagor; and thei eeten the sacrificis of deed beestis.
105:29And thei wraththiden God in her fyndyngis; and fallyng was multiplied in hem.
105:30And Fynees stood, and pleeside God; and the veniaunce ceesside.
105:31And it was arrettid to hym to riytfulnesse; in generacioun and in to generacioun, til in to with outen ende.
105:32And thei wraththiden God at the watris of ayenseiyng; and Moises was trauelid for hem, for thei maden bittere his spirit,
105:33and he departide in his lippis.
105:34Thei losten not hethen men; whiche the Lord seide to hem.
105:35And thei weren meddlid among hethene men, and lerneden the werkis of hem,
105:36and serueden the grauen ymagis of hem; and it was maad to hem in to sclaundre.
105:37And thei offriden her sones; and her douytris to feendis.
105:38And thei schedden out innocent blood, the blood of her sones and of her douytris; whiche thei sacrificiden to the grauun ymagis of Chanaan.
105:39And the erthe was slayn in bloodis, and was defoulid in the werkis of hem; and thei diden fornicacioun in her fyndyngis.
105:40And the Lord was wrooth bi strong veniaunce ayens his puple; and hadde abhominacioun of his eritage.
105:41And he bitook hem in to the hondis of hethene men; and thei that hatiden hem, weren lordis of hem.
105:42And her enemyes diden tribulacioun to hem, and thei weren mekid vndir the hondis of enemyes;
105:43ofte he delyuerede hem. But thei wraththiden hym in her counsel; and thei weren maad low in her wickidnessis.
105:44And he siye, whanne thei weren set in tribulacioun; and he herde the preyer of hem.
105:45And he was myndeful of his testament; and it repentide hym bi the multitude of his merci.

105:20Then sent the kinge and caused him be delyuered, the prynce of the people bad let him go.
105:21He made him lorde of his house, & ruler of all his substaunce.
105:22That he might enfourme his prynces after his wil, and teach his Senatours wysdome.

105:36He smote all ye first borne in their lode, euen the chefe of all their substaunce.
105:37He brought them forth wt syluer & golde, there was not one feble personne amoge their trybes.
105:38Egipte was glad of their departinge, for they were afraied of the.
105:39e spred out a cloude to be a couerynge, and fyre to geue light in the night season.
105:40At their desyre, there came quales, and he fylled them with the bred of heaue.
105:41He opened the rocke of stone, & the waters flowed out: so that ryuers ranne in the wildernesse.
105:42For why, he remembred his holy promyse which he had made vnto Abraham his seruaunt.
105:43Thus he brought forth his people with ioye, and his chosen with gladnesse.
105:44And gaue them the lodes of the Heithe, where they toke the labours of the people in possession.
105:45That they might kepe his statutes, and obserue his lawes. Halleluya. Halleluya.
