Psalms - Chapter: 139

>
139:1[To the chiefe Musician, A Psalme of Dauid.] O Lord, thou hast searched mee, and knowen me.
139:2Thou knowest my downe sitting, and mine vprising: thou vnderstandest my thought afarre off.
139:3Thou compassest my path, and my lying downe, and art acquainted with all my wayes.
139:4For there is not a worde in my tongue: but lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
139:5Thou hast beset me behind, and before: and laid thine hand vpon me.
139:6Such knowledge is too wonderfull for me: it is high, I cannot attaine vnto it.
139:7Whither shall I goe from thy spirit? or whither shall I flie from thy presence?
139:8If I ascend vp into heauen, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
139:9If I take the wings of the morning: and dwell in the vttermost parts of the Sea:
139:10Euen there shall thy hand leade me: and thy right hand shall hold me.
139:11If I say, Surely the darkenes shall couer me: euen the night shall bee light about me.
139:12Yea the darkenesse hideth not from thee, but the night shineth as the day: the darknes and the light are both alike to thee.
139:13For thou hast possessed my reines: thou hast couered me in my mothers wombe.
139:14I will praise thee, for I am fearefully and wonderfully made, marueilous are thy works: and that my soule knoweth right well.
139:15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret: and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
139:16Thine eyes did see my substance yet being vnperfect, and in thy booke all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned: when as yet there was none of them.
139:17Howe precious also are thy thoughts vnto me, O God: how great is the summe of them?
139:18If I should count them, they are moe in number then the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
139:19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
139:20For they speake against thee wickedly: and thine enemies take thy name in vaine.
139:21Doe not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieued with those that rise vp against thee?
139:22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
139:23Search me, O God, and knowe my heart: trie mee, and knowe my thoughts:
139:24And see if there bee any wicked way in me: and leade me in the way euerlasting.

139:1O God thou hast searched me to the quicke: and thou hast knowen me
139:2Thou knowest my downe sitting & myne vprising: thou vnderstandest my thoughtes long before they be
139:3Thou compassest about my path, and my iourney into all coastes: and thou vsest all my wayes
139:4For there is not a word in my tongue: but beholde thou O Lorde knowest it altogether
139:5Thou hast fashioned me behinde and before: and layde thyne hande vpon me
139:6The knowledge that thou hast of me is marueylous: it is so high that I can not attayne vnto it
139:7Whyther can I go from thy spirite: or whyther can I flee away from thy face
139:8If I ascende vp into heauen, thou art there: if I lay me downe in hell, thou art there also
139:9If I take the wynges of the morning: and go to dwell in the vttermost part of the sea
139:10Euen there also thy hande shall leade me: and thy right hande shall holde me
139:11And yf I say peraduenture the darknesse shall couer me: and the night shalbe day for me
139:12Truely the darknesse shall not darken any thing from thee, and the night shalbe as lyghtsome as the day: darknesse and lyght to thee are both a lyke
139:13For thou hast my reynes in thy possession: thou didst couer me in my mothers wombe
139:14I wyll confesse it vnto thee, for that thy doynges are to be dreaded, I am made after a marueylous sort: thy workes be marueylous, and that my soule knoweth ryght well
139:15The substaunce of my body was not hyd from thee: when I was made in secrete and fashioned with distinct members in my mothers wombe
139:16Thyne eyes dyd see me when I was most imperfect: and in thy booke were written euery day of them wherin the partes of my body were shaped, and no one of them were knowen vnto thee
139:17Howe pretious be thy cogitations towardes me O God? howe greatly be the summe of them increased
139:18I go about to count them, I fynde that they are mo in number then the sande: and yet whyle I am wakyng I am styll with thee
139:19For truely thou wylt slay O Lord the wicked man: and the blood thirstie men to whom I euer say depart ye from me
139:20Who do speake vnto thee in guilefull maner: thou art O God exalted in vayne to thyne enemies
139:21Do not I hate them O God that hate thee? and am not I greeued with those that rise vp agaynst thee
139:22Yea I hate them from the bottome of myne heart: euen as though they were myne enemies
139:23Searche me to the quicke O Lorde, and knowe thou myne heart: proue me and knowe thou my thoughtes
139:24And loke well yf there be any way of peruersnesse in me: and then leade me in the way of the worlde

139:1To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David. O Lord, thou hast tried me and knowen me.
139:2Thou knowest my sitting and my rising: thou vnderstandest my thought afarre off.
139:3Thou compassest my pathes, and my lying downe, and art accustomed to all my wayes.
139:4For there is not a word in my tongue, but loe, thou knowest it wholy, O Lord.
139:5Thou holdest mee straite behinde and before, and layest thine hand vpon me.
139:6Thy knowledge is too wonderfull for mee: it is so high that I cannot attaine vnto it.
139:7Whither shall I goe from thy Spirite? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
139:8If I ascende into heauen, thou art there: if I lye downe in hell, thou art there.
139:9Let mee take the winges of the morning, and dwell in the vttermost parts of the sea:
139:10Yet thither shall thine hand leade me, and thy right hand holde me.
139:11If I say, Yet the darkenes shall hide me, euen the night shalbe light about me.
139:12Yea, the darkenes hideth not from thee: but the night shineth as the day: the darkenes and light are both alike.
139:13For thou hast possessed my reines: thou hast couered me in my mothers wombe.
139:14I will praise thee, for I am fearefully and wonderously made: marueilous are thy workes, and my soule knoweth it well.
139:15My bones are not hid from thee, though I was made in a secret place, and facioned beneath in the earth.
139:16Thine eyes did see me, when I was without forme: for in thy booke were all things written, which in continuance were facioned, when there was none of them before.
139:17Howe deare therefore are thy thoughtes vnto me, O God! how great is ye summe of them!
139:18If I should count them, they are moe then the sand: when I wake, I am still with thee.
139:19Oh that thou wouldest slay, O God, the wicked and bloody men, to whom I say, Depart ye from mee:
139:20Which speake wickedly of thee, and being thine enemies are lifted vp in vaine.
139:21Doe not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and doe not I earnestly contend with those that rise vp against thee?
139:22I hate them with an vnfained hatred, as they were mine vtter enemies.
139:23Try mee, O God, and knowe mine heart: prooue me and know my thoughtes,
139:24And consider if there be any way of wickednes in me, and leade me in the way for euer.
