140:1	To the chaunter, a psalme of Dauid. Delyuer me, O Lorde, from the euell man, and preserue me from the wycked man.
140:2	Which ymagin myschefe in their hertes: and stere vp strife all the daye longe.
140:3	They haue sharpened theyr tonges like a serpent: adders poyson is vnder their lyppes. Sela.
140:4	Kepe me, O Lorde, from the handes of the vngodly: preserue me from the wyckedmen, which are purposed to ouerthrowe my goynges.
140:5	The proude haue layed a snare for me: and spred a net abroad with coardes: yee, & set trappes in my waye Sela.
140:6	I sayde vnto the Lorde: thou art my God, heare the voyce of my prayers, O Lorde.
140:7	O Lorde God, thou strength of my health, thou hast couered my heed in the day of battayll.
140:8	Let not the vngodly haue his desyre, O Lorde, let not hys mischeuous ymaginacyon prosper: lest they be to proude. Sela.
140:9	Let the mischefe of their awne lippes fall vpon the heed of them, that compasse me about.
140:10	Let hote burninge coales fall vpon them: let them be cast into the fyer and into the pyt: that they neuer ryse vp againe.
140:11	A man full of wordes shal not prosper vpon the erth: euell shall hunte the wycked person, to ouerthrowe hym.
140:12	Sure I am, that the Lorde wyll auenge the poore, and mainteyne the cause of the helpeles.
140:13	The righteous also shall geue thankes vnto thy name, and the iust shall contynue in thy syght.

140:2	Mi preier be dressid as encense in thi siyt; the reisyng of myn hondis be as the euentid sacrifice.
140:3	Lord, sette thou a keping to my mouth; and a dore of stonding aboute to my lippis.
140:4	Bowe thou not myn herte in to wordis of malice; to excuse excusingis in synne. With men worchinge wickidnesse; and Y schal not comyne with the chosun men of hem.
140:5	A iust man schal repreue me in mersi, and schal blame me; but the oile of a synner make not fat myn heed. For whi and yit my preier is in the wel plesaunt thingis of hem;
140:6	for the domesmen of hem ioyned to the stoon weren sopun vp. Here thei my wordis,
140:7	for tho weren myyti. As fatnesse is brokun out on the erthe; oure bonys ben scatered niy helle. Lord, Lord,
140:8	for myn iyen ben to thee, Y hopide in thee; take thou not awei my soule.
140:9	Kepe thou me fro the snare which thei ordeyneden to me; and fro the sclaundris of hem that worchen wickidnesse. Synneris schulen falle in the nett therof;
140:10	Y am aloone til Y passe.

140:6	Sela. But my sayenge is vnto the LORDE: thou art my God, heare the voyce of my prayer o LORDE.
140:7	O LORDE God, thou strength of my health, thou hast couered my heade in ye daye of battayll.
140:8	Let not ye vngodly haue his desyre (o LORDE) let him not haue his purpose, lest they be to proude.
140:9	Sela. Let the myschefe of their owne lippes fall vpon ye head of the, yt copase me aboute.
140:10	Let hote burnynge coales fall vpo the, let the be cast in to the fyre, and in to the pytt, that they neuer ryse vp agayne.
140:11	A man full of wordes shal not prospere vpon earth: a malicious & wicked person shal be hunted awaye and destroyed.
140:12	Sure I am, that the LORDE wil auenge the poore, and manteyne the cause of the helplesse.
140:13	The rightuous also shal geue thakes vnto thy name, & the iust shal continue in thy sight.
