Psalms - Chapter: 144

>
144:1Of Dauid. Blessed be the Lord my strengthe, which teacheth my handes to warre, & my fyngers to fyght.
144:2My hope and my fortresse, my castell, and delyuerer, my defender in whom I trust, whych subdueth my people that is vnder me.
144:3Lorde, what is man, that thou hast soch respect vnto him? Or the sonne of man, that thou so regardest hym?
144:4Man is lyke a thynge of naught, his tyme passeth awaye lyke a shadowe.
144:5Bowe thy heauens, O Lorde, & come downe, touche the mountaynes, & they shall smoke.
144:6Caste forth the lyghtynynge, & teare them, shote out thyne arowes, and consume them.
144:7Sende downe thyne hande from aboue, delyuer me, & take me out of the great waters, from the hande of straunge chyldren,
144:8Whose mouth talketh of vanyte, & theyr ryght hande is a ryght hande of wyckednes.
144:9I wyll synge a newe songe vnto the, O God, & synge prayses vnto the vpon a tenstrynged lute.
144:10Thou that geuest victory vnto kinges, and hast delyuered Dauid thy seruaunt from the parell of the swerde.
144:11Saue me, and delyuer me from the hande of straunge chyldren, whose mouth talketh of vanite, and theyr ryght hande is a ryght hande of iniquite.
144:12That oure sonnes maye growe vp as the yonge plantes, & that oure daughters maye be as the polyshed corners of the temple.
144:13That oure garners may be full and plenteous with all maner of stoare: that once shepe maye brynge forth thousandes, and ten thousandes in oure stretes.
144:14That oure oxen maye be stronge to laboure, that there be no decaye, no ledynge into captyuitie, & no complayninge in oure stretes.
144:15Happye are the people that be in soche a case: yee blessed are the people, whych haue the Lorde for their God.

 

144:1The title of the hundrid and foure and fourtithe salm. `The ympne of Dauith. Mi God king, Y schal enhaunse thee; and Y schal blesse thi name in to the world, and in to the world of world.
144:2Bi alle daies Y schal blesse thee; and Y schal herie thi name in to the world, and in to the world of the world.
144:3The Lord is greet, and worthi to be preisid ful myche; and noon ende is of his greetnesse.
144:4Generacioun and generacioun schal preise thi werkis; and thei schulen pronounse thi power.
144:5Thei schulen speke `the greet doyng of the glorie of thin holynesse; and thei schulen telle thi merueils.
144:6And thei schulen seye the vertu of thi ferdful thingis; and thei schulen telle thi greetnesse.
144:7Thei schulen bringe forth the mynde of the abundaunce of thi swetnesse; and thei schulen telle with ful out ioiyng thi riytfulnesse.
144:8The Lord is a merciful doere, and merciful in wille; paciente, and myche merciful.
144:9The Lord is swete in alle thingis; and hise merciful doyngis ben on alle hise werkis.
144:10Lord, alle thi werkis knouleche to thee; and thi seyntis blesse thee.
144:11Thei schulen seie the glorie of thi rewme; and thei schulen speke thi power.
144:12That thei make thi power knowun to the sones of men; and the glorie of the greetnesse of thi rewme.
144:13Thi rewme is the rewme of alle worldis; and thi lordschipe is in al generacioun and in to generacioun. The Lord is feithful in alle hise wordis; and hooli in alle hise werkis.
144:14The Lord liftith vp alle that fallen doun; and reisith alle men hurtlid doun.
144:15Lord, the iyen of alle beestis hopen in thee; and thou yyuest the mete of hem in couenable tyme.

144:3LORDE, what is ma, that thou hast soch respecte vnto him? Or the sonne of man, that thou so regardest him?
144:4Man is like a thinge of naught, his tyme passeth awaye like a shadowe.
144:5Bowe thy heaues (o LORDE) & come downe, touch the mountaynes, yt they maye smoke withall.
144:6Sende forth the lightenynge & scater the, shute out thine arowes and consume them.
144:7Sende downe thine hande from aboue, delyuer me and take me out of ye greate waters, from the hande of straunge childre.
144:8Whose mouth talketh of vanite, & their right hade is a righthande of falsede.
144:9That I maye synge a new songe vnto the (o God) & synge prayses vnto the vpon a tenstrynged lute,
144:10Thou that geuest victory vnto kynges, and hast delyuered Dauid thy seruaunt from the parell of the swerde.
144:11Saue me and delyuer me from the honde of straunge childre, whose mouth talketh of vanite, and their right hande is a right hande of falsede.
144:12That or sonnes maye growe vp as the yoge plantes, and that oure doughters maye be as the polished corners of the temple.
144:13That or garners maye be full and plenteous with all maner of stoare: that or shepe maye brynge forth thousandes and hundreth thousands in oure villages.
144:14That oure oxen maye be stronge to laboure, that there be no myschaunce, no decaye, and no complayninge in oure stretes.
144:15Happie are the people that be in soch a case: yee blessed are the people, which haue the LORDE for their God.
