3:1My sonne, forget not thou my lawe, but se that thyne hert kepe my commaundementes.
3:2For they shall prolonge the dayes & yeres of thy lyfe, and bringe the peace.
3:3Let mercy and faythfulnes neuer go from the: bynde them about thy necke, and wryte them in the tables of thyne herte.
3:4So shalt thou fynde fauour & good vnderstanding, in the syght of God and men.
3:5Put thy trust in God with all thyne herte: and leane not vnto thyne awne witte.
3:6In all thy wayes haue respecte vnto hym: & shall order thy goynges.
3:7Be not wyse in thyne awne conceate: but feare the Lorde, and departe from euell:
3:8so shall thy nauell be whole, and thy bones stronge.
3:9Honoure the Lord wt thy substaunce: and with thy firstlinges of all thyne encrease
3:10so shall thy barnes be fylled with plenteousnesse: and thy presses shall flowe ouer with swete wyne.
3:11My sonne, despyse not the chastenynge of the Lorde, nether faynte when thou art rebuked of hym.
3:12For whom the Lorde loueth, hym he chasteneth, and yet deliteth in him, euen as a father in his awne sonne.
3:13Well is him that findeth wysdome, and opteyneth vnderstandinge:
3:14for the getting of it is better then any marchaundise of syluer, and the profet of it is better then golde.
3:15Wysdome is more worth then precious stones: and all the thinges that thou canst desire are not to be compared vnto her.
3:16Upon her ryght hande is longe lyfe, and vpon her left hande is riches and honour.
3:17Her wayes are pleasaunt wayes and all her pathes are peaceable.
3:18She is a tree of lyfe to them that laye hold vpon her, and blessed is he that kepeth her fast.
3:19With wysdome hath the Lorde layed the foundacion of the erth: and thorowe vnderstandinge hath he stablyshed the heauens.
3:20Thorowe his wisdome the deapthes breake vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dew.
3:21My sonne, let not these thynges departe, from thyne eyes: but kepe my lawe and my councell,
3:22that thou mayest haue the pleasure of longe lyfe and vnderstandynge: for they shalbe lyfe vnto my soule, & grace vnto my mouth.
3:23Then shalt thou walke safely in thy waye: and thy fote shall not stomble.
3:24If thou slepest, thou shalt nott be afrayed: but shalt take thy rest, and slepe swetely.
3:25Thou nedest not to be afrayed of any soden feare, nether for the vyolent russhynge in of the vngodly when it commeth.
3:26For the Lorde shall stonde by thy syde, and kepe thy fote, that thou be not taken.
3:27Withdrawe no good thinge from them that haue nede, so longe as thyne hand is able to do it.
3:28Saye not vnto thy neyghboure: go thy waye, & come agayne, to morowe wyll I geue the:
3:29where as thou haste nowe to geue hym. Intende no hurte vnto thy neyghboure, seynge he dothe dwell in reest by the.
3:30Stryue not lyghtely with anye man without cause, where as he hathe done the no harme.
3:31Folowe not a wicked man, and chose none of hys wayes:
3:32for the Lorde abhorreth the frowarde: but hys councell is amonge the ryghteous.
3:33The curse of the Lorde is in the house of the vngodly: but he blesseth the dwellynges of the ryghteous.
3:34As for the scornefull dothe not he laugh them to scorne? but he geueth grace vnto the lowly.
3:35The wise shall haue honour in possession: but shame is the promocion that foles shall haue.

3:1Mi sone, foryete thou not my lawe; and thyn herte kepe my comaundementis.
3:2For tho schulen sette to thee the lengthe of daies, and the yeeris of lijf, and pees.
3:3Merci and treuthe forsake thee not; bynde thou tho to thi throte, and write in the tablis of thin herte.
3:4And thou schalt fynde grace, and good teching bifore God and men.
3:5Haue thou trist in the Lord, of al thin herte; and triste thou not to thi prudence.
3:6In alle thi weies thenke thou on hym, and he schal dresse thi goyngis.
3:7Be thou not wijs anentis thi silf; drede thou God, and go awei fro yuel.
3:8For whi helthe schal be in thi nawle, and moisting of thi boonys.
3:9Onoure thou the Lord of thi catel, and of the beste of alle thi fruytis yyue thou to pore men;
3:10and thi bernes schulen be fillid with abundaunce, and pressours schulen flowe with wiyn.
3:11My sone, caste thou not awei the teching of the Lord; and faile thou not, whanne thou art chastisid of him.
3:12For the Lord chastisith hym, whom he loueth; and as a fadir in the sone he plesith hym.
3:13Blessid is the man that fyndith wisdom, and which flowith with prudence.
3:14The geting therof is betere than the marchaundie of gold and of siluer; the fruytis therof ben the firste and clenneste.
3:15It is preciousere than alle richessis; and alle thingis that ben desirid, moun not be comparisound to this.
3:16Lengthe of daies is in the riythalf therof, and richessis and glorie ben in the lifthalf therof.
3:17The weies therof ben feire weies, and alle the pathis therof ben pesible.
3:18It is a tre of lijf to hem that taken it; and he that holdith it, is blessid.
3:19The Lord foundide the erthe bi wisdom; he stablischide heuenes bi prudence.
3:20The depthis of watris braken out bi his wisdom; and cloudis wexen togidere bi dewe.
3:21My sone, these thingis flete not awey fro thin iyen; kepe thou my lawe, and my counsel;
3:22and lijf schal be to thi soule, and grace `schal be to thi chekis.
3:23Thanne thou schalt go tristili in thi weie; and thi foot schal not snapere.
3:24If thou schalt slepe, thou schalt not drede; thou schalt reste, and thi sleep schal be soft.
3:25Drede thou not bi sudeyne feer, and the powers of wickid men fallynge in on thee.
3:26For the Lord schal be at thi side; and he schal kepe thi foot, that thou be not takun.
3:27Nil thou forbede to do wel him that mai; if thou maist, and do thou wel.
3:28Seie thou not to thi frend, Go, and turne thou ayen, and to morewe Y schal yyue to thee; whanne thou maist yyue anoon.
3:29Ymagyne thou not yuel to thi freend, whanne he hath trist in thee.
3:30Stryue thou not ayens a man with out cause, whanne he doith noon yuel to thee.
3:31Sue thou not an vniust man, sue thou not hise weies.
3:32For ech disseyuer is abhomynacioun of the Lord; and his speking is with simple men.
3:33Nedinesse is sent of the Lord in the hous of a wickid man; but the dwelling places of iust men schulen be blessid.
3:34He schal scorne scorneris; and he schal yyue grace to mylde men.
3:35Wise men schulen haue glorie; enhaunsing of foolis is schenschipe.

3:22so shal it be life vnto thy soule, & grace vnto yi mouth.
3:23Then shalt thou walke safely in yi waye, & thy fote shal not stomble.
3:24Yf thou slepest, thou shalt not be afrayed, but shalt take thy rest & slepe swetely.
3:25Thou neddest not to be afrayed of eny sodane feare, nether for the violent russhinge in of the vngodly, when it commeth.
3:26For the LORDE shal be besyde the, & kepe thy fote yt thou be not taken.
3:27Refuse not to do good vnto him that shulde haue it, so longe as thine hande is able to do it.

3:30Stryue not lightly wt eny man, where as he hath done ye no harme.

3:34As for the scornefull, he shal laugh the to scorne, but he shal geue grace vnto the lowly.
