Proverbs - Chapter: 11

>
11:1A False balaunce is an abhomynacyon vnto the Lorde, but a true weight pleaseth him.
11:2Where pryde is, there is shame also and confusyon: but where as is lowlynes, there is wysdome.
11:3The innocent dealynge of the iust shall leade them, but the wyckednes of such as dissemble, shalbe their awne destruccyon.
11:4Riches helpe not in the daye of vengeaunce, but ryghteousnesse delyuereth from death.
11:5The ryghteousnes of the innocent ordreth his waye, but the vngodly shall fall in his awne wyckednesse.
11:6The ryghteousnesse of the iust shall delyuer them, but the wycked shalbe taken in theyr awne vngodlynesse.
11:7When an vngodly man dyeth, his hope is gone, the confydence of riches shall perishe.
11:8The ryghteous shalbe delyuered out of trouble, and the vngodly shall come in his steade.
11:9Thorowe the mouth of the dissembler is his neyghboure destroyed, but thorowe knowledge shall the iust he delyuered.
11:10When it goeth well with the ryghteous, the cytie is mery: and when the vngodly peryshe, there is gladnesse.
11:11When the iust are in wealth, the cytye prospereth: but when the vngodly haue the rule, it decayeth.
11:12A foole bringeth vp a selaunder of his neyghbour, but a wyse man wyll kepe it secrete.
11:13A dyssemblynge person wyll discouer preuy thynges, but he that is of a faythfull herte, wyll kepe councell.
11:14Where no good councell is, there the people decaye: but where as many are that can geue councell, there is wealth,
11:15He that is suertye for a straunger, hurteth him selfe: and he that medleth not wt suertieshyppe, is sure.
11:16A gracious woman maynteyneth honestye, as for the wycked, they maynteyne ryches.
11:17He that is mercyfull doth hym selfe a benefyte, but who so hurteth his neyghbour, is a tyraunt.
11:18The labour of the vngodly prospereth not, but he that soweth ryghteousnes, shall receaue a sure rewarde.
11:19Lyke as ryghteousnes bryngeth lyfe: euen so to cleue vnto euell, bryngeth death.
11:20The Lorde abhorreth them that be of a fayned hert, but he hath pleasure in them that are of an vndefyled conuersacyon.
11:21The wycked amendeth not for plage vpon plage, but the sede of the ryghteous shalbe preserued.
11:22A fayre woman without discrete maners, is lyke a rynge of gold in a swynes snoute.
11:23The desyre of the ryghteous is acceptable, but the hope of the vngodly is indignacyon.
11:24Some man geueth out his goodes, and is the rycher, but the nygard (hauynge ynough) wyll departe from nothynge, and yet is euer in pouertye.
11:25He that is liberall in geuynge, shall haue plenty, and he that watereth, shall be watered also him selfe.
11:26Who so hoordeth vp his corne, shalbe cursed amonge the people: but blessynge shall lyght vpon his head that geueth foode.
11:27He that laboureth for honesty, fyndeth his desyre: but who so seketh after myschefe, it shall happen vnto hym.
11:28He that trusteth in his ryches, shall haue a fall, but the ryghteous shall floryshe as the grene leafe.
11:29Who so maketh disquyetnes in his awne house, he shall haue wynde for his heritage, and the foole shalbe seruaunt to the wyse.
11:30The frute of the ryghteous is a tree of lyfe: and he that endeuoureth him selfe to wynne mens soules is wyse.
11:31If the ryghteous be recompensed vpon earth, howe moch more then the vngodly and the synner?

 

11:1A gileful balaunce is abhominacioun anentis God; and an euene weiyte is his wille.
11:2Where pride is, there also dispising schal be; but where meeknesse is, there also is wisdom.
11:3The simplenesse of iust men schal dresse hem; and the disseyuyng of weiward men schal destrie hem.
11:4Richessis schulen not profite in the dai of veniaunce; but riytfulnesse schal delyuere fro deth.
11:5The riytfulnesse of a simple man schal dresse his weie; and a wickid man schal falle in his wickidnesse.
11:6The riytfulnesse of riytful men schal delyuere hem; and wickid men schulen be takun in her aspiyngis.
11:7Whanne a wickid man is deed, noon hope schal be ferther; and abidyng of bisy men schal perische.
11:8A iust man is delyuered from angwisch; and a wickid man schal be youun for hym.
11:9A feynere bi mouth disseyueth his freend; but iust men schulen be deliuered bi kunnyng.
11:10A citee schal be enhaunsid in the goodis of iust men; and preysyng schal be in the perdicioun of wickid men.
11:11A citee schal be enhaunsid bi blessing of iust men; and it schal be distried bi the mouth of wickid men.
11:12He that dispisith his freend, is nedi in herte; but a prudent man schal be stille.
11:13He that goith gilefuli, schewith priuetees; but he that is feithful, helith the priuetee of a freend.
11:14Where a gouernour is not, the puple schal falle; but helthe `of the puple is, where ben many counsels.
11:15He that makith feith for a straunger, schal be turmentid with yuel; but he that eschewith snaris, schal be sikur.
11:16A graciouse womman schal fynde glorie; and stronge men schulen haue richessis.
11:17A merciful man doith wel to his soule; but he that is cruel, castith awei, yhe, kynnesmen.
11:18A wickid man makith vnstable werk; but feithful mede is to hym, that sowith riytfulnesse.
11:19Merci schal make redi lijf; and the suyng of yuels `schal make redi deth.
11:20A schrewid herte is abhomynable to the Lord; and his wille is in hem, that goen symply.
11:21Thouy hond be in the hond, an yuel man schal not be innocent; but the seed of iust men schal be sauyd.
11:22A goldun `sercle, ether ryng, in the `nose thrillis of a sowe, a womman fair and fool.
11:23The desir of iust men is al good; abiding of wickid men is woodnesse.
11:24Sum men departen her owne thingis, and ben maad richere; other men rauyschen thingis, that ben not hern, and ben euere in nedynesse.
11:25A soule that blessith, schal be maad fat; and he that fillith, schal be fillid also.
11:26He that hidith wheete `in tyme, schal be cursid among the puplis; but blessyng schal come on the heed of silleris.
11:27Wel he risith eerli, that sekith good thingis; but he that is a serchere of yuels, schal be oppressid of tho.
11:28He that tristith in hise richessis, schal falle; but iust men schulen buriowne as a greene leef.
11:29He that disturblith his hows, schal haue wyndis in possessioun; and he that is a fool, schal serue a wijs man.
11:30The fruyt of a riytful man is the tre of lijf; and he that takith soulis, is a wijs man.
11:31If a iust man receyueth in erthe, how miche more an vnfeithful man, and synnere.

11:18The laboure of the vngodly prospereth not, but he that soweth rightuosnes, shal receaue a sure rewarde.
11:19Like as rightuousnes bryngeth life, eue so to cleue vnto euell, bryngeth death.
11:20The LORDE abhorreth a fayned hert, but he hath pleasure in them that are vndefyled.
11:21It shal not helpe ye wicked, though they laye all their hondes together, but the sede of the rightuous shalbe preserued.

11:23The iust laboure for peace and traquylite, but the vngodly for disquyetnesse.
11:24Some man geueth out his goodes, and is the richer, but ye nygarde (hauynge ynough) wil departe from nothinge, and yet is euer in pouerte.
11:25He that is lyberall in geuynge, shal haue plenty: and he that watereth, shalbe watered also himself.
11:26Who so hoordeth vp his corne, shalbe cursed amonge the people: but blessynge shal light vpon his heade that selleth it.
11:27He that laboureth for honesty fyndeth his desyre: but who so seketh after myschefe, it shal happe vnto him.
11:28He that trusteth in his riches, shal haue a fall, but ye rightuous shal florish as the grene leaf.
11:29Who so maketh disquyetnesse in his owne house, he shal haue wynde for his heretage, and the foole shal be seruaunt to the wyse.
11:30The frute of the rightuous is as the tre of life, a wyse man also wynneth mens soules.
11:31Yf ye rightuous be recopesed vpo earth how moch more the the vngodly & ye synner?
