Proverbs - Chapter: 29

>
29:1He that is styfnecked, & wyll not be refourmed, shall sodenly be destroyed without eny help.
29:2When the ryghteous haue the ouerhande, the people are in prosperite: but when the vngodly beareth rule, there the people mourne.
29:3Who so loueth wysdome maketh his father a glad man: but he that kepeth company with harlottes, spendeth awaye that he hath.
29:4With true iudgement the kynge setteth vp the lande, but yf he be a man that oppressith the people with gatheringes, he turneth it vp syde downe.
29:5Who so flatreth hys neyghbour, layeth a nette for his fete.
29:6The synne of the wicked is his awne snare, but the ryghteous doth syng & reioyse.
29:7The ryghteous considreth the cause of the poore: but the vngodly regardeth no vnderstandynge.
29:8Wycked people bringe a cytie in decaye, but wyse men set it vp agayne.
29:9If a wyse man go to lawe wt a foole (whether he deale wt him frendly or roughly) he getteth no rest.
29:10The bloude thyrstie hate the ryghteous: but the iust seke his soule.
29:11A foole powreth out hys sprete altogether but a wyse man kepeth it in tyll afterwarde.
29:12If a prince delyte in lyes, all his seruauntes are vngodly.
29:13The poore and the lender mete together, & the Lord lyghteneth both theyr eyes.
29:14The seate of the Kynge that faithfully iudgeth the poore, shall continue sure for euermore.
29:15The rodde and correccyon ministre wysdome, but yf a chylde be not loked vnto, he bryngeth his mother to shame.
29:16When the vngodly come vp, wyckednes increaseth: but the ryghteous shall se theyr fall.
29:17Nurtoure thy sonne wt correccion, and thou shalt be at rest, yee, he shall do the good at thyne herte.
29:18When the worde of god is not preached, the people peryshe, but well is hym that kepeth the lawe.
29:19A seruaunt wyll not be the better for wordes, for though he vnderstande, yet wyll he not regarde them.
29:20Yf thou seest a man that is hastye to speake vnaduysed, thou mayest trust a foole more then hym.
29:21He that delycately bryngeth vp his seruaunt from a chylde, shall make him hys master at length.
29:22An angry man stereth vp stryfe, and he that beareth euell wyll in his mynde, doth moch euell.
29:23After pryde commeth a fall, but a lowely sprete bringeth greate worshyp.
29:24Who so kepeth company wyth a thefe, hateth his awne soule: he heareth blasphemyes, and telleth it not forth.
29:25He that feareth men, shal haue a fall: but who so putteth hys trust in the Lorde is with out daunger.
29:26Many there be that seke the Princes fauoure, but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lorde.
29:27The ryghteous abhorreth the vngodly: but as for those that be in the ryght waye, the wycked hate them.

 

29:1Sodeyn perischyng schal come on that man, that with hard nol dispisith a blamere; and helth schal not sue hym.
29:2The comynalte schal be glad in the multipliyng of iust men; whanne wickid men han take prinshod, the puple schal weyle.
29:3A man that loueth wisdom, makith glad his fadir; but he that nurschith `an hoore, schal leese catel.
29:4A iust king reisith the lond; an auerouse man schal distrie it.
29:5A man that spekith bi flaterynge and feyned wordis to his frend; spredith abrood a net to hise steppis.
29:6A snare schal wlappe a wickid man doynge synne; and a iust man schal preise, and schal make ioye.
29:7A iust man knowith the cause of pore men; an vnpitouse man knowith not kunnyng.
29:8Men ful of pestilence distryen a citee; but wise men turnen awei woodnesse.
29:9If a wijs man stryueth with a fool; whether he be wrooth, `ether he leiyith, he schal not fynde reste.
29:10Menquelleris haten a simple man; but iust men seken his soule.
29:11A fool bringith forth al his spirit; a wise man dilaieth, and reserueth in to tyme comynge afterward.
29:12A prince that herith wilfuli the wordis of a leesyng; schal haue alle mynystris vnfeithful.
29:13A pore man and a leenere metten hem silf; the Lord is liytnere of euer ethir.
29:14If a kyng demeth pore men in treuthe; his trone schal be maad stidfast with outen ende.
29:15A yerde and chastisyng schal yyue wisdom; but a child, which is left to his wille, schendith his modir.
29:16Grete trespassis schulen be multiplied in the multipliyng of wickid men; and iust men schulen se the fallyngis of hem.
29:17Teche thi sone, and he schal coumforte thee; and he schal yyue delicis to thi soule.
29:18Whanne prophesie faylith, the puple schal be distried; but he that kepith the lawe, is blessid.
29:19A seruaunt mai not be tauyt bi wordis; for he vndirstondith that that thou seist, and dispisith for to answere.
29:20Thou hast seyn a man swift to speke; foli schal be hopid more than his amendyng.
29:21He that nurschith his seruaunt delicatli fro childhod; schal fynde hym rebel aftirward.
29:22A wrathful man territh chidingis; and he that is liyt to haue indignacioun, schal be more enclynaunt to synnes.
29:23Lownesse sueth a proude man; and glorie schal vp take a meke man of spirit.
29:24He that takith part with a theef, hatith his soule; he herith a man chargynge greetli, and schewith not.
29:25He that dredith a man, schal falle soon; he that hopith in the Lord, shal be reisid.
29:26Many men seken the face of the prince; and the doom of alle men schal go forth of the Lord.
29:27Iust men han abhomynacioun of a wickid man; and wickid men han abhomynacioun of hem, that ben in a riytful weye. A sone kepynge a word, schal be out of perdicioun.

29:15The rodde and correccion mynistre wy?dome, but yf a childe be not loked vnto, he bryngeth his mother to shame.
29:16When the vngodly come vp, wickednesse increaseth: but the rightuous shall se their fall.
29:17Nurtoure thy sonne with correccion, and he shal comforte the, yee he shal do the good at thine hert.
29:18Where no prophet is, there the people perishe: but well is him that kepeth the lawe.
29:19A seruaut wil not be the better for wordes, for though he vnderstonde, yet wil he not regarde them.
29:20Yf thou seyst a man that is haistie to speake vnaduysed, thou mayest trust a foole more then him.
29:21He that delicately bryngeth vp his seruaunt from a childe, shal make him his master at length.
29:22An angrie man stereth vp strife, and he that beareth euell wyll in his mynde, doth moch euell.
29:23After pryde commeth a fall, but a lowly sprete bryngeth greate worshipe.

29:27The rightuous abhorre the vngodly: but as for those that be in ye right waye, ye wicked hate them.
