Ecclesiastes - Chapter: 12

>
12:1Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
12:2While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
12:3In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
12:4And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
12:5Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
12:6Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
12:7Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
12:8Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
12:9And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
12:10The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
12:11The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12:12And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
12:13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
12:14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

12:1Remember nowe thy Creator in the daies of thy youth, whiles the euill daies come not, nor the yeeres approche, wherein thou shalt say, I haue no pleasure in them:
12:2Whiles the sunne is not darke, nor ye light, nor the moone, nor the starres, nor the cloudes returne after the raine:
12:3When the keepers of ye house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow them selues, and the grinders shall cease, because they are few, and they waxe darke that looke out by ye windowes:
12:4And the doores shall be shut without by the base sound of the grinding, and he shall rise vp at the voice of the birde: and all the daughters of singing shall be abased.
12:5Also they shalbe afraide of the hie thing, and feare shalbe in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grassehopper shall be a burden, and concupiscence shall be driuen away: for man goeth to the house of his age, and the mourners goe about in the streete.
12:6Whiles the siluer coarde is not lengthened, nor the golden ewer broken, nor the pitcher broken at the well, nor the wheele broken at the cisterne:
12:7And dust returne to the earth as it was, and the spirit returne to God that gaue it.
12:8Vanitie of vanities, saieth the Preacher, all is vanitie.
12:9And the more wise the Preacher was, the more he taught the people knowledge, and caused them to heare, and searched foorth, and prepared many parables.
12:10The Preacher sought to finde out pleasant wordes, and an vpright writing, euen the wordes of trueth.
12:11The wordes of the wise are like goads, and like nailes fastened by the masters of the assemblies, which are giuen by one pastour.
12:12And of other things beside these, my sone, take thou heede: for there is none ende in making many bookes, and much reading is a wearines of the flesh.
12:13Let vs heare the end of all: feare God and keepe his commandements: for this is the whole duetie of man.
12:14For God will bring euery worke vnto iudgement, with euery secret thing, whether it be good or euill.

12:1(
12:2b) Remembre thy maker the soner in thy youth, or euer the dayes of aduersytie come & or the yeares drawe nye, when thou shalt saye: I haue not pleasure in them:
12:3before the sunne the lyght, the moone & starres be darckned, & or the cloudes turne agayne after the rayne,
12:4when the kepers of the house shall tremble, & when the stronge men shall bowe them selues: when the myllers stande styll, because they be so fewe, & when the syght of the wyndowes shall waxedymme,
12:5when the dores in the stretes shalbe shutt, and when the voyce of the myller shalbe layed downe: when men shall ryse vp at the voyce of the byrde, and when all the daughters of musyke shalbe brought lowe:
12:6when men shall feare in hye places, and be afrayed in the stretes: when the Almonde tree shall florishe and be laden with the greshopper, and when all lust shall passe (because man goeth to his longe home, and the mourners go aboute the stretes.)
12:7Or euer the syluer lace be taken awaye, and or the golden well be broken. Or the pot be broken at the well, and the whele vpon the cysterne:
12:8Then shall the dust be turned agayne vnto earth from whence it came, and the sprete shall returne vnto God, which gaue it.
12:9All is but vanite (sayth the Preacher) all is but playne vanyte.
12:10The Preacher was yet more wyse, and taught the people knowledge: he gaue good hede, sought out the grounde, and set forth many parables.
12:11Hys diligence was to fynde out acceptable wordes, ryght scripture, and the wordes of trueth.
12:12For the wordes of the wyse are lyke pryckes and nayles that goo thorow, wherwith the stuffe gathered is holden vp: for they are geuen of one shepherde onely.
12:13Therfore beware (my sonne) of that doctrine that is besyde thys: for to make many bokes it is an endles worke: and to loude cryinge weryeth the bodye.
12:14Let vs heare the conclusyon of all thynges: Feare God, and kepe hys commaundementes: For that toucheth all men.Ecc
