| 2:3 | speaking thus one to another: vp, let vs go to the hyll of the Lord, & to the house of the God of Iacob: that he maye shewe vs his waye, and that we maye walcke in his pathes. For the lawe shall come out of Sion, and the word of the Lorde from Ierusalem, |
| 2:4 | and shall geue sentence amonge the Heathen, and shall reforme the multitude of people: They shall breake theyr swerdes also in to mattockes, and theyr speares to make sythes. And one people shall not lyft vp weapen against another, nether shal they learne to fyght from thens forth. |
| 2:5 | Come ye (O house of Iacob) let vs walcke in the lyght of the Lorde. |
| 2:6 | But thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Iacob, because they go farre beyonde the east contreys in Sorceryes (whom they haue as the Philistines had) and in straunge chyldren they thinke them selues to haue ynough. |
| 2:7 | Theyr land is full of siluer and gold, nether is there any ende of theyr treasure: Theyr land is also full of horses, & no ende is there of theyr charets. |
| 2:8 | Theyr lande is also full of vayne goddes, and before the worcke of theyr awne handes haue they bowed them selues, yee, euen before the thinge that theyr awne fyngers haue made. |
| 2:9 | There kneleth the man, there falleth the man downe before them, but thou (o Lorde) wilt not leaue them vnpunished. |
| 2:10 | And therfore get the in to some rock, and hyde the in the grounde for feare of the Lord, and for the glory of his magestye: |
| 2:11 | Which casteth downe the high lookes of presumptuous personnes, and bringeth lowe the pryde of man, and the Lorde only shall be exalted in that daye. |
| 2:12 | For the daye of the Lord of Hostes shall go ouer al pride and presumption, vpon all them that exalte them selues, and shall brynge them all downe: |
| 2:13 | vpon all the hygh and stoute Cedre trees of Libanus, & vpon all the okes of Basan, |
| 2:14 | vpon all hygh hylles, and vpon all stoute mountaynes, |
| 2:15 | vpon all costly towres, & vpon all stronge walles, |
| 2:16 | vpon all shyppes of Tharsis, and vpon euery thyng that is glorious and pleasaunt to loke vpon. |
| 2:17 | And it shall brynge downe the pryde of man, and laye mans presumptuousnesse full lowe, and the Lorde shall only haue the vyctory in that daye. |
| 2:18 | But the Idols shall vtterly be roted out. |
| 2:19 | Men shall crepe in to holes of stone, and into caues of the earth, for feare of the Lorde, and for the glory of hys magesty: what tyme as he shall aryse vp to condemne the earth. |
| 2:20 | Then shall man cast awaye hys goddes of syluer, and hys goddes of gold (which he neuertheles had made to honour them) vnto Molles & Backes: |
| 2:21 | And they shall crepe in to the caues and rockes, & into the clyftes of hard stones, for feare of God, and for the glory of hys magestye, whan he ryseth to condemne the earth. |
| 2:22 | Feare not ye then any man, whose breth is in hys nostrels. For what is he of reputacion? |

| 2:2 | And in the laste daies the hil of the hous of the Lord schal be maad redi in the cop of hillis, and schal be reisid aboue litle hillis. And alle hethene men schulen flowe to hym; |
| 2:3 | and many puplis schulen go, and schulen seie, Come ye, stie we to the hil of the Lord, and to the hous of God of Jacob; and he schal teche vs hise weies, and we schulen go in the pathis of hym. For whi the lawe schal go out of Syon, and the word of the Lord fro Jerusalem. |
| 2:4 | And he schal deme hethene men, and he schal repreue many puplis; and thei schulen welle togidere her swerdes in to scharris, and her speris in to sikelis, ether sithes; folk schal no more reise swerd ayens folk, and thei schulen no more be exercisid to batel. |
| 2:5 | Come ye, the hous of Jacob, and go we in the liyt of the Lord. |
| 2:6 | Forsothe thou hast cast awei thi puple, the hous of Jacob, for thei ben fillid as sum tyme bifore; and thei hadden false dyuynouris bi the chiteryng of briddis, as Filisteis, and thei cleuyden to alien children. |
| 2:7 | The lond is fillid with siluer and gold, and noon ende is of the tresouris therof; and the lond therof is fillid with horsis, and the foure horsid cartis therof ben vnnoumbrable. |
| 2:8 | And the lond therof is fillid with ydols, and thei worschipiden the werk of her hondis, which her fyngris maden; |
| 2:9 | and a man bowide hymsilf, and a man of ful age was maad low. Therfor foryyue thou not to hem. |
| 2:10 | Entre thou, puple of Juda, in to a stoon, be thou hid in a diche in erthe, fro the face of the drede of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his mageste. |
| 2:11 | The iyen of an hiy man ben maad low, and the hiynesse of men schal be bowid doun; forsothe the Lord aloone schal be enhaunsid in that dai. |
| 2:12 | For the dai of the Lord of oostis schal be on ech proud man and hiy, and on ech boostere, and he schal be maad low; |
| 2:13 | and on alle the cedres of the Liban hiye and reisid, and on alle the ookis of Baisan, |
| 2:14 | and on alle hiy munteyns, and on alle litle hillis, `that ben reisid; |
| 2:15 | and on ech hiy tour, and on ech strong wal; |
| 2:16 | and on alle schippis of Tharsis, and on al thing which is fair in siyt. |
| 2:17 | And al the hiynesse of men schal be bowid doun, and the hiynesse of men schal be maad low; and the Lord aloone schal be reisid in that dai, |
| 2:18 | and idols schulen be brokun togidere outirli. |
| 2:19 | And thei schulen entre in to dennes of stoonys, and in to the swolewis of erthe, fro the face of the inward drede of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his maieste, whanne he schal ryse to smyte the lond. |
| 2:20 | In that dai a man schal caste awei the idols of his siluer, and the symylacris of his gold, whiche he hadde maad to hym silf, for to worschipe moldewarpis and backis, `ether rere myis. |
| 2:21 | And he schal entre in to chynnis, ethir crasyngis, of stoonys, and in to the caues of hard roochis, fro the face of the inward drede of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his mageste, whanne he schal ryse to smyte the lond. |
| 2:22 | Therfor ceesse ye fro a man, whos spirit is in hise nose thirlis, for he is arettid hiy. |

| 2:3 | speakinge thus one to another: vp, let us go to the hill of the LORDE, and to the house of ye God of Iacob: yt he maye shewe us his waye, and yt we maye walke in his pathes. For ye lawe shal come out of Syon, and the worde of God from Ierusalem, |
| 2:4 | and shal geue sentence amonge the heithen, and shal reforme the multitude of people: So that they shal breake their swerdes and speares, to make sythes, sycles & sawes therof. From that tyme forth shal not one people lift vp wapen agaynst another, nether shal they lerne to fight from thensforth. |
| 2:5 | It is to the that I crie (o house of Iacob) vp, let us walke in the light of the LORDE. |
| 2:6 | But thou art scatred abrode with thy people (o house of Iacob) for ye go farre beyonde yor fathers, whether it be in Sorcerers) whom ye haue as the phylistynes had) or in calkers of mens byrthes, wherof ye haue to many. |
| 2:7 | As soone as youre londe was ful of syluer and golde, and no ende of youre treasure: so soone as youre londe was ful of stronge horses and no ende of youre charettes: |
| 2:8 | Inmediatly was it ful of Idols also, euen workes of youre owne hondes, which ye youre selues haue facioned, and youre fyngers haue made. |
| 2:9 | There kneleth the man, there falleth the man downe before them, so yt thou canst not bringe him awaye from thence. |
| 2:10 | And therfore get ye soone in to some rock, vnd hyde the in the grounde from the sight of the fearful iudge, and from ye glory of his Magestie. |
| 2:11 | Which casteth downe ye high lokes of presumptuous personnes, and bryngeth lowe the pryde of ma, and he only shall be exalted in ye daye. |
| 2:12 | For the daye of ye LORDE of hostes shal go ouer all pryde & presumpcio, vpon all the that exalte the selues, and shal bringe them all downe? |
| 2:13 | vpo all high & stoute Cedre trees of Libanus, and vpon all the okes of Basan, |
| 2:14 | vpon all high hilles, and vpon all stoute mountaynes, |

| 2:19 | Men shal crepe in to holes of stone, and in to caues of the earth, from the sight of the fearfull iudge, and from the glory of his magesty: what tyme as he shal make him vp to shake the earth. |
| 2:20 | Then, the shal ma cast awaye his goddes of syluer and golde (which he neuertheles had made to honoure the) vnto Molles and Backes: |
| 2:21 | that he maye the better crepe in to the caues and rockes, and in to the cliffes of hard stones, from ye sight of the fearful iudge and from the glory of his Magesty. |
| 2:22 | Every man can eschue a persone moued in anger, for what doth he wysely? |
