| 20:1 | In the year of the coming in of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Asshur sendeth him, and he fighteth against Ashdod, and captureth it, |
| 20:2 | at that time spake Jehovah by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, `Go, and thou hast loosed the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy sandal thou dost draw from off thy foot,' and he doth so, going naked and barefoot. |
| 20:3 | And Jehovah saith, `As My servant Isaiah hath gone naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder for Egypt and for Cush, |
| 20:4 | so doth the king of Asshur lead the captivity of Egypt, and the removal of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with seat uncovered -- the nakedness of Egypt; |
| 20:5 | and they have been affrighted and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty, |
| 20:6 | and the inhabitant of this isle hath said in that day -- Lo, thus `is' our trust, Whither we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape -- we?' |
| 20:1 | In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it; |
| 20:2 | At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. |
| 20:3 | And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; |
| 20:4 | So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. |
| 20:5 | And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory. |
| 20:6 | And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape? |
| 20:1 | In the year Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and fought against Ashdod, and took it; |
| 20:2 | at that time Jehovah spoke by the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loosen the sackcloth from your loins, and take your shoe off from your foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. |
| 20:3 | And Jehovah said, Just as My servant has walked naked and barefoot three years (a sign and a wonder on Egypt and on Ethiopia) |
| 20:4 | so shall the king of Assyria lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old; naked and barefoot, and with uncovered buttocks; to the nakedness of Egypt. |
| 20:5 | And they shall be afraid and ashamed of their hope Ethiopia, and of their glory Egypt. |
| 20:6 | And he who lives in this coast shall say in that day, Behold, this has become of our hope to which we fled for help there, to be delivered from before the king of Assyria; and, How shall we escape? |
