| 22:1 | The burthen of the valley of vision: What hast thou to do here, that thou clymest vnto the house toppes? |
| 22:2 | Thou that art full of occupieng, thou sedicious & proude citye: thy slayne men are nether put to death wyth swerde, ner deed in batell. |
| 22:3 | All thy captaynes are fugitiue together, the archers haue taken them presoners: All they that are founde in the, are in captiuyte together, because they fled farre of. |
| 22:4 | Therfore sayd I: let me alone & I wyll make lamentacion. Ye shall not be able to comforte me, because of the destruccyon of the daughter of my people. |
| 22:5 | For thys is a daye of trouble, of ruyne, & of destruccyon that the Lorde wyll bryng to passe in the valley of vision, breakyng downe the citye, & cryeng vnto mountaynes. |
| 22:6 | Elam bare the quyuer wt a charet of fote men and of horsmen, and the cytye of Kyr shewed the shylde open. |
| 22:7 | Thy chefe valley also was full of charetes, and the horsmen set theyr faces directly towarde the gate. |
| 22:8 | And in that daye dyd the enemye take awaye the bewtye of Iuda, and then dyddest thou loke towarde the armoure of the house of the forest. |
| 22:9 | Yee haue sene also the broken places of the citye of Dauid, how that they are many, & ye gathered together the waters of the lower pole. |
| 22:10 | As for the houses of Ierusalem ye haue nombred them, and the houses haue ye broken downe to make the wall strong. |
| 22:11 | A pytt also haue ye made betwene the two walles, for the waters of the olde pole, and haue not regarded the maker therof, nether had respecte vnto him that toke it in hande. |
| 22:12 | And in that daye dyd the Lorde God of hoostes call men vnto wepyng and mournyng, to baldnesse & gyrdyng aboute wyth sack cloth. |
| 22:13 | And Behold, they haue ioye and gladnesse, slayeng oxen & kylling shepe eatyng flesh & drynkyng wyne: Let vs eate and drynke: for tomorowe we shal dye |
| 22:14 | And it came to the eares of the Lord of hoostes: This iniquite shall not be pourged from you till ye dye, sayeth the lord God of hostes. |
| 22:15 | Thus sayeth the Lord God of hostes: Go, get the into younder treasurer, euen vnto Sebna, which is the ruler of the house. |
| 22:16 | What hast thou to do here? and whom hast thou here, that thou shuldest here hewe the out a sepulcre, as it were one that heweth hym out a sepulcre an hye, or that graueth an habitacion for him self in a hard rock? |
| 22:17 | Beholde, O thou man, the Lord shall carye the awaye into captiuite, & shall surely couer the with confusion. |
| 22:18 | The Lord shall turne the ouer lyke a ball with hys handes into a farre contre: There shalt thou dye, & there (in steade of the charettes of thy pompe) shall the house of thy lord haue confusion |
| 22:19 | I will dryue the from thy place, & out of thy dwellyng shall he ouerthrow the. |
| 22:20 | And in that daye shall I call my seruaunt Eliakim the sonne of Helkia. |
| 22:21 | And with thy garmentes will I clothe him, and wyth thy gyrdle will I strength hym: thy power also will I committe into his hande & he shalbe a father of such as dwel in Ierusalem, and in the house of Iuda. |
| 22:22 | And the keye of the house of Dauid will I laye vpon his shoulder, so that he shall open and no man shall shut. He shall shut, and no man shall open. |
| 22:23 | And I wyll fasten hym as a nayle in a sure place, and he shall be the gloryous seate of hys fathers house. |
| 22:24 | Morouer, all generacions and posterites shall hang vpon him, all the glory of their fathers house, all vessels both great and small, and all instrumentes of measure and musyck. |
| 22:25 | In that daye (sayeth the Lorde of hostes) shall the nayle that is fastened in the sure place departe, be broken and fall, and the burthen that was vpon it, shall be plucte awaye, for so the lorde hath spoken. |

| 22:2 | thou ful of cry, a citee of myche puple, a citee ful out ioiynge? thi slayn men weren not slayn bi swerd, nether thi deed men weren deed in batel. |
| 22:3 | Alle thi princes fledden togidere, and weren boundun harde; alle that weren foundun, weren boundun togidere, thei fledden fer. |
| 22:4 | Therfor Y seide, Go ye awei fro me, Y schal wepe bittirli; nyle ye be bisie to coumforte me on the distriyng of the douyter of my puple. |
| 22:5 | For whi a dai of sleyng, and of defoulyng, and of wepyngis, is ordeined of the Lord God of oostis, in the valei of visioun; and he serchith the walle, and is worschipful on the hil. |
| 22:6 | And Helam took an arowe caas, and the chare of an horse man; and the scheeld made nakid the wal. |
| 22:7 | And thi chosun valeis, Jerusalem, schulen be ful of cartis; and knyytis schulen putte her seetis in the yate. |
| 22:8 | And the hilyng of Juda schal be schewid; and thou schalt se in that dai the place of armuris of the hous of the forest; |
| 22:9 | and ye schulen se the crasyngis of the citee of Dauid, for tho ben multiplied. Ye gaderiden togidere the watris of the lowere cisterne, |
| 22:10 | and ye noumbriden the housis of Jerusalem, and ye distrieden housis, to make strong the wal; and ye maden a lake bitwixe twei wallis, |
| 22:11 | and ye restoriden the watir of the elde sisterne; and ye biholden not to hym, that made `thilke Jerusalem, and ye sien not the worchere therof afer. |
| 22:12 | And the Lord God of oostis schal clepe in that dai to wepyng, and to morenyng, and to ballidnesse, and to a girdil of sak; and lo! |
| 22:13 | ioie and gladnesse is to sle caluys, and to strangle wetheris, to ete fleisch, and to drynke wyn; ete we, and drynke we, for we schulen die to morewe. |
| 22:14 | And the vois of the Lord of oostis is schewid in myn eeris, This wickidnesse schal not be foryouun to you, til ye dien, seith the Lord God of oostis. |
| 22:15 | The Lord God of oostis seith these thingis, Go thou, and entre to hym that dwellith in the tabernacle, to Sobna, the souereyn of the temple; and thou schalt seie to hym, |
| 22:16 | What thou here, ethir as who here? for thou hast hewe to thee a sepulcre here, thou hast hewe a memorial in hiy place diligentli, a tabernacle in a stoon to thee. |
| 22:17 | Lo! the Lord schal make thee to be borun out, as a kapoun is borun out, and as a cloth, so he shal reise thee. |
| 22:18 | He crowninge schal crowne thee with tribulacioun; he schal sende thee as a bal in to a large lond and wijd; there thou schalt die, and there schal be the chare of thi glorie, and the schenschipe of the hous of thi Lord. |
| 22:19 | And Y schal caste thee out of thi stondyng, and Y schal putte thee doun of thi seruyce. |
| 22:20 | And it schal be, in that dai Y schal clepe my seruaunt Eliachim, the sone of Helchie; and Y schal clothe hym in thi coote, |
| 22:21 | and Y schal coumforte hym with thi girdil, and Y shal yyue thi power in to the hondis of hym; and he schal be as a fadir to hem that dwellen in Jerusalem, and to the hous of Juda. |
| 22:22 | And Y schal yyue the keie of the hous of Dauyd on his schuldre; and he schal opene, and noon schal be that schal schitte; and he schal schitte, and noon schal be that schal opene. |
| 22:23 | And Y schal sette hym a stake in a feithful place, and he schal be in to the seete of glorie of the hous of his fadir. |
| 22:24 | And thou schalt hange on hym al the glorie of the hous of his fadir, diuerse kindis of vessels, eche litil vessel, fro the vesselis of cuppis `til to ech vessel of musikis. |
| 22:25 | In that dai, seith the Lord of oostis, the stake that was set in the feithful place, schal be takun awei, and it schal be brokun, and schal falle doun; and schal perische that hangide therynne, for the Lord spak. |

| 22:2 | o thou citie of miracles, sedicious and wilfull? seinge, thy slayne me are nether killed wt swerde, ner deed in batel? |
| 22:3 | For all thy captaynes gat them to their horses from the ordinaunce, yee they are altogether rydden awaye, and fled farre of. |
| 22:4 | When I perceaued yt, I sayde: awaye fro me, yt I maye wepe bytterly. Take no laboure for to coforte me, as touchinge the destruction of my people. |
| 22:5 | For this is ye daye of the LORDE of hoostes, wherin he will plage, treade downe, and wede out the valley of Visios, and breake downe the walles, with soch a crack, that it shal geue a sownde in the mountaynes. |
| 22:6 | I sawe the Elamites take the quyuers to carte and to horse, and that the walles were bare from harnesse. |
| 22:7 | Thy goodly valleys were ful of Charettes, the horse men made them soone to besege the gates. |
| 22:8 | Then was the coueringe of Iuda put from thence, and then was sene the sege of the tymbre house. |
| 22:9 | There shal ye se the riftes in the walles of the cite of Dauid, wherof there shalbe many. Ye shal gather together the waters of the lower pole, |
| 22:10 | and tel the houses of Ierusale, and break of some of the to kepe ye walles. |
| 22:11 | And ye shal make a pyt betwyxte ye twayne walles of the water of the olde pole, and nothinge regarde him, that toke it in honde and made it. |
| 22:12 | And at the same tyme shal ye LORDE of hoostes cal me to wepinge mourninge, to baldnesse and puttinge on of sack clothe. |
| 22:13 | But they to fulfil their lust and wilfulnes, slaugter oxe, they kyll shepe, they eate costly meate, & drynke wyne: let vs eate and drinke, tomorow we shal die. |
| 22:14 | Neuertheles whe the LORDE of hoostes herde of it, he sayde: yee, yf this wickednes of yours shalbe remitted, ye must die for it. This hath ye LORDE God of hoostes spoken. |
| 22:15 | Thus sayeth the LORDE God of hoostes: Go in to the treasury vnto Sobna the gouernoure, and saye vnto him: |
| 22:16 | What hast thou here to do? & from whece comest thou? that thou hast made the a graue here? For he had caused a costly tombe of stone to be made for himself, and a place to lye in to be hewen out of a rock. |
| 22:17 | Beholde the LORDE shal cast the out by violence, he will deck the of another fashion, and put vpon the a straunge clothe. |
| 22:18 | He shal carie ye in to a farre coutre, like a ball with his hondes, There shalt thou die, there shal the pompe of thy charettes haue an ende: thou vylleyne of the house of thy LORDE: |
| 22:19 | I wil shute the out of thine office, and put the from thine estate. |
| 22:20 | After this wil I cal my seruaunt Eliakim, ye sonne of Helkia, |
| 22:21 | and araye him with thy cote, and gyrde him with thy gyrdle, and I wil geue thy power in to his honde He shalbe a father of the citisens of Ierusalem, and of the Kynred of Iuda. |
| 22:22 | I will also laye the keye of Dauids house vpon his shulders, and yf he open, no man shal shit, and yf he do shyt, no man shal open. |
| 22:23 | I wil fasten him to a nale in the place of the most hie faithfulnesse, and he shalbe vpon the glorius trone of his fathers house. |
| 22:24 | They shal hage vpon him all the glory of his fathers house, of the children and childers childre, all apparel small and great, all instrumentes of measure & musike. |
| 22:25 | This shal come to passe, (saieth the LORDE of hoostes) when the nale, yt is fastened to the place of the highest faithfulnesse: shalbe pluckt of, And whe the weight that hangeth vpon it, shal fall, be broken, and hewen in peces. For the LORDE himself hath sayde it. |
