| 23:1 | The burden of Tyre. Howle yee ships of Tarshish, for it is laide waste, so that there is no house, no entring in: from the land of Chittim it is reuealed to them. |
| 23:2 | Be still, yee inhabitants of the yle, thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that passe ouer the sea, haue replenished. |
| 23:3 | And by great waters the seede of Sihor, the haruest of the riuer is her reuenew, and she is a mart of nations. |
| 23:4 | Be thou ashamed, O Zidon; for the sea hath spoken, euen the strength of the sea, saying; I trauell not, nor bring foorth children, neither doe I nourish vp yong men, nor bring vp virgines. |
| 23:5 | As at the report concerning Egypt, so shal they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre. |
| 23:6 | Passe ye ouer to Tarshish, howle ye inhabitants of the yle. |
| 23:7 | Is this your ioyous citie, whose antiquitie is of ancient dayes? her owne feete shall cary her afarre off to soiourne. |
| 23:8 | Who hath taken this counsell against Tyre the crowning citie, whose merchants are princes, whose traffiquers are the honourable of the earth? |
| 23:9 | The Lord of hostes hath purposed it, to staine the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth. |
| 23:10 | Passe through thy land as a riuer O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength. |
| 23:11 | He stretched out his hand ouer the sea, hee shooke the kingdomes: the Lord hath giuen a commandement against the merchant citie, to destroy the strong holdes thereof. |
| 23:12 | And he said, Thou shalt no more reioice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, passe ouer to Chittim, there also shalt thou haue no rest. |
| 23:13 | Behold, the land of the Caldeans, this people was not till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwel in the wildernesse: they set vp the towers thereof, they raised vp the palaces thereof, and he brought it to ruine. |
| 23:14 | Howle ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste. |
| 23:15 | And it shall come to passe in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seuentie yeeres according to the dayes of one king: after the end of seuentie yeeres shall Tyre sing as an harlot. |
| 23:16 | Take an harpe, goe about the city thou harlot, that hast beene forgotten, make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembred. |
| 23:17 | And it shall come to passe after the ende of seuentie yeeres, that the Lord will visite Tyre, and shee shall turne to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdomes of the world vpon the face of the earth. |
| 23:18 | And her merchandize and her hire shall be holinesse to the Lord: it shall not be treasured nor laid vp: for her merchandize shalbe for them that dwell before the Lord, to eate sufficiently, and for durable clothing. |

| 23:2 | Be styll ye that dwell in the Isle, the marchauntes of Zidon, & such as passe ouer the sea haue made thee plenteous |
| 23:3 | The corne that groweth by the great waters of Nilus, and the fruites of the riuer were her vittayles, so that it became a common mart of the nations |
| 23:4 | Be ashamed thou Zidon: for the sea, euen the strength of the sea hath spoken saying, I haue not trauayled nor brought foorth children, nor norished vp young men, or brought vp virgins |
| 23:5 | When tidinges commeth to the Egyptians, they shalbe sory for the rumour of Tyre |
| 23:6 | Get you to Tharsis, mourne you that dwell in the Isle |
| 23:7 | Is not this that glorious citie of yours which hath ben of olde antiquitie? her owne feete shall cary her foorth to be a soiurner into a farre countrey |
| 23:8 | Who hath deuised this agaynst Tyre that crowneth her selfe? Whose marchauntes are princes, & whose factours are honorable in the worlde |
| 23:9 | Euen the Lorde of hoastes hath deuised this, to put downe the pride of all such as be glorious, and to minishe all them that be proude vpon the earth |
| 23:10 | Get thee out of thy lande like a fludde vnto the daughter of Tharsis, for thou hast no more strength |
| 23:11 | He that smote the kyngdomes together, holdeth out his hande ouer the sea: euen the Lord him selfe hath geuen a commaundement agaynst the same common place of marchaundise, that they shall vtterly destroy the myght therof |
| 23:12 | And he sayde: Make no more thy boast O virgin thou daughter Zidon, thou shalt be brought downe: Up, get thee ouer vnto Cittim, where neuerthelesse thou shalt haue no rest |
| 23:13 | Beholde, this people came not of the Chaldees, but Assur made them strong with great shippes: They set vp the strong holdes therof, and destroyed his palaces: and he brought it in decay |
| 23:14 | Mourne ye shippes of Tharsis, for your strength is brought downe |
| 23:15 | And in that day shal Tyre be forgotten seuentie yeres, accordyng to the yeres of one king: & after the ende of the seuentie yeres shall Tyre sing as doth an harlot |
| 23:16 | Take an harpe and go about the citie thou harlot that hast ben forgotten, make sweete melodie, sing mo songes, that thou mayest be had in remembraunce |
| 23:17 | And after the ende of the seuentie yeres shall the Lorde visite Tyre, and she shall conuert vnto her rewarde, and shall commit fornication with all the kyngdomes of the earth that are in the worlde |
| 23:18 | Their occupying also & their rewarde shalbe holy vnto the Lorde: their gaynes shall not be layde vp nor kept in store, but it shalbe theirs that dwell before the Lorde, that they may eate inough, and haue clothyng sufficent |

| 23:8 | Who hath decreed this against Tyrus (that crowneth men) whose marchantes are princes? whose chapmen are the nobles of the worlde? |
| 23:9 | The Lord of hostes hath decreed this, to staine the pride of all glorie, and to bring to contempt all them that be glorious in the earth. |
| 23:10 | Passe through thy lande like a flood to the daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength. |
| 23:11 | He stretched out his hand vpon the sea: he shooke the kingdomes: the Lord hath giuen a commandement concerning the place of marchandise, to destroy the power thereof. |
| 23:12 | And he saide, Thou shalt no more reioyce when thou art oppressed: O virgin daughter of Zidon: rise vp, goe ouer vnto Chittim: yet there thou shalt haue no rest. |
| 23:13 | Behold the lande of the Caldeans: this was no people: Asshur founded it by the inhabitantes of the wildernesse: they set vp the towers thereof: they raised the palaces thereof and hee brought it to ruine. |

| 23:15 | And in that day shall Tyrus bee forgotten seuentie yeeres, (according to the yeeres of one King) at the ende of seuentie yeeres shall Tyrus sing as an harlot. |
| 23:16 | Take an harpe and go about the citie: (thou harlot thou hast beene forgotten) make sweete melodie, sing moe songes that thou maiest be remembred. |
| 23:17 | And at the ende of seuentie yeres shall the Lord visite Tyrus, and shee shall returne to her wages, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdomes of the earth, that are in the world. |
| 23:18 | Yet her occupying and her wages shall bee holy vnto the Lord: it shall not be laied vp nor kept in store, but her marchandise shalbe for them that dwell before the Lord, to eate sufficiently, and to haue durable clothing. |
