65:1 | I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. |
65:2 | I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; |
65:3 | A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; |
65:4 | Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; |
65:5 | Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. |
65:6 | Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, |
65:7 | Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. |
65:8 | Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. |
65:9 | And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. |
65:10 | And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me. |
65:11 | But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. |
65:12 | Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. |
65:13 | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: |
65:14 | Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. |
65:15 | And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: |
65:16 | That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. |
65:17 | For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. |
65:18 | But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. |
65:19 | And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. |
65:20 | There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. |
65:21 | And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. |
65:22 | They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. |
65:23 | They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. |
65:24 | And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. |
65:25 | The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD. |

65:2 | I haue spred out mine handes all the day vnto a rebellious people, which walked in a way that was not good, euen after their owne imaginations: |
65:3 | A people that prouoked me euer vnto my face: that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense vpon brickes. |
65:4 | Which remaine among the graues, and lodge in the desarts, which eate swines flesh, and the broth of things polluted are in their vessels. |
65:5 | Which say, Stand apart, come not neere to me: for I am holier then thou: these are a smoke in my wrath and a fire that burneth all the day. |
65:6 | Beholde, it is written before me: I wil not keepe silence, but will render it and recompense it into their bosome. |
65:7 | Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers shalbe together (sayth the Lord) which haue burnt incense vpon the mountaines, and blasphemed me vpon the hilles: therefore wil I measure their olde worke into their bosome. |
65:8 | Thus sayth the Lord, As the wine is found in the cluster, and one sayth, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it, so will I doe for my seruants sakes, that I may not destroy them whole. |
65:9 | But I will bring a seede out of Iaakob, and out of Iudah, that shall inherit my mountaine: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my seruants shall dwell there. |
65:10 | And Sharon shalbe a sheepefolde, and the valley of Achor shalbe a resting place for the cattell of my people, that haue sought me. |
65:11 | But ye are they that haue forsaken the Lord and forgotten mine holy Mountaine, and haue prepared a table for the multitude, and furnish the drinke offerings vnto the number. |
65:12 | Therefore wil I number you to the sword, and all you shall bowe downe to the slaughter, because I called, and ye did not answere: I spake, and ye heard not, but did euil in my sight, and did chuse that thing which I would not. |
65:13 | Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Beholde, my seruants shall eate, and ye shalbe hungrie: beholde, my seruants shall drinke, and ye shall be thirstie: beholde, my seruants shall reioyce, and ye shalbe ashamed. |
65:14 | Beholde, my seruants shall sing for ioye of heart, and ye shall crye for sorow of heart, and shall howle for vexation of minde. |
65:15 | And ye shall leaue your name as a curse vnto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay you and call his seruants by another name. |
65:16 | He that shall blesse in the earth, shall blesse himselfe in the true God, and he that sweareth in the earth, shall sweare by the true God: for the former troubles are forgotten, and shall surely hide themselues from mine eyes. |
65:17 | For lo, I will create newe heauens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembred nor come into minde. |
65:18 | But be you glad and reioyce for euer in the things that I shall create: for beholde, I will create Ierusalem, as a reioycing and her people as a ioye, |
65:19 | And I wil reioyce in Ierusalem, and ioye in my people, and the voyce of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voyce of crying. |
65:20 | There shall be no more there a childe of yeeres, nor an olde man that hath not filled his dayes: for he that shall be an hundreth yeeres old, shall dye as a yong man: but the sinner being an hundreth yeeres olde shall be accursed. |
65:21 | And they shall build houses and inhabite them, and they shall plant vineyards, and eate the fruite of them. |
65:22 | They shall not build, and another inhabite: they shall not plant, and another eate: for as the dayes of the tree are the dayes of my people, and mine elect shall inioye in olde age the worke of their handes. |
65:23 | They shall not labour in vaine, nor bring forth in feare: for they are the seede of the blessed of the Lord, and their buds with them. |
65:24 | Yea, before they call, I will answere, and whiles they speake, I will heare. |
65:25 | The wolfe and the lambe shall feede together, and the lyon shall eate strawe like the bullocke: and to the serpent dust shall be his meate. They shall no more hurt nor destroy in all mine holy Mountaine, saith the Lord. |
65:1 | They seke me, that hytherto haue not asked for me: they fynde me, that hyther to haue not sought me. I haue sayde I am here, I am here. I am founde of a people that neuer called vpon my name. |
65:2 | For thus longe haue I euer holden out my handes to an vnfaythfull people, that go not the ryght waye, but after their awne ymaginacyons: |
65:3 | To a people that is euer defyinge me to my face. They make their oblacyons in gardens, and their smoke vpon aulters of brycke, |
65:4 | they lurcke amonge the graues, and lye in the dennes all nyght. They eat swynes fleshe, & vncleane broth is in their vessels. |
65:5 | If thou comest nye them, they saye touch me not, for I am holyer then thou All these men when I am angry, shalbe turned to smoke & fyre, that shall burne for euer. |
65:6 | Beholde it is wryten before my face, & shall not be forgotten, but recompensed. I shall rewarde it them into their bosome: |
65:7 | I meane youre mysdedes, and the mysdedes of youre fathers together (sayeth the Lorde) which haue made their smokes vpon the mountaynes, and blasphemed me vpon the hylles: therfore will I measure their olde dedes into their bosome againe. |
65:8 | Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lorde: lyke as when one wolde gather holy grapes, men saye vnto hym: breake it not of for it is holy: euen so wyll I do also for my seruauntes sakes, that I wyll not destroye them all. |
65:9 | But I wyll take a sede out of Iacob, & out of Iuda one, to take possession of my hyll. My chosen shall possesse these thinges, & my seruauntes shall dwell there. |
65:10 | Saron shalbe a shepefolde, & the valley of Achor shall geue the stallynge for the catell of my people, that feare me. |
65:11 | But as for you, ye are they that haue forsaken the Lord, and forgotten my holy hill. Ye haue set vp an aulter vnto Iuppiter, & geuen rych dryncke offerynges vnto the planettes. |
65:12 | Therfore wyll I nombre you with the swerde, that ye shall be destroyed all together. For when I called, no man gaue me answere: when I spake, ye herkened not vnto me, but dyd wyckednes before myne eyes, and chose the thynge that pleased me not: |
65:13 | Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: Beholde, my seruauntes shall eate, but ye shall haue honger: Beholde, my seruauntes shall dryncke, but ye shall suffre thurste. Beholde, my seruauntes shall be mery, but ye shall be confounded. |
65:14 | Beholde, my seruauntes shall reioyce for very quyetnesse of herte: But ye shall crye for sorowe of hert, and complayne for vexacyon of mynde. |
65:15 | Youre name shall you leaue accursed amonge my chosen, for God the Lorde shall slaye you, and call his seruauntes by another name. |
65:16 | Who so reioyseth vpon earth, shall reioyse in the true God. And who so sweareth vpon earth, shall sweare in the true God. For the olde enmyte shalbe forgotten, and taken awaye oute of my syght. |
65:17 | For lo, I shall make a newe heauen, and a newe earth. And as for the olde, they shall neuer be thought vpon, ner kepte in mynde: |
65:18 | but the Lorde sayth be glad and euermore reioyse, for the thynges, that I shall do. For why: Beholde, I shall make a ioyfull Ierusalem, and his people ioyfull, |
65:19 | yee, I my selfe will reioyse wyth Ierusalem, & be glad wt my people. And the voyce of wepynge and waylinge shall not be herde in her from thence forth. |
65:20 | There shall nether be chylde ner olde man, that haue not their full dayes. But when the chylde commeth to an hondreth yeare olde, it shall dye. And yf he that is an hundreth yeare of age do wronge, he shalbe cursed. |
65:21 | They shall buylde houses, & dwell in them: they shall plante vyneyardes, & eate the frute of them. |
65:22 | They shall not buylde, and another possesse: they shall not plant and another eate: But the lyfe of my people shalbe lyke a tre, and so shall the worcke of their handes. |
65:23 | My chosen shall lyue longe, they shall not laboure in vayne, ner begett wyth trouble: for they are the hye blessed sede of the Lorde, and their frutes with them. |
65:24 | And it shalbe, that or euer they call, I shall answere them. Whyle they are yet but thinckynge howe to speake, I shall heare them. |
65:25 | The wolff and the lambe shall fede together, and the lyon shall eate haye lyke the bullock. But earth shalbe the serpentes meate. There shall no man hurte ner slaye another, in all my holy hyll, sayeth the Lorde. |
